I’m from the UK and completed the AVSE-TESOL course in Hanoi in 2018. I had a great experience and the course was a excellent introduction to teaching English in Vietnam. Terry and Evie created a hospitable environment and were very conscientious of everyone’s needs and concerns on the course. The course covered both educational theory and practice along with guidance in finding suitable positions after the conclusion of the course. If you are thinking of starting a career in ESL and it is your first time living in Vietnam, this is a great way to acclimatise to your surroundings and find your footing. The experiences I had on this course have been invaluable to me and it is a great way of gaining credibility in the local job market when you are just starting out teaching. I would definitely recommend this course.

Choosing to study the certV TESOL course in Vietnam was the best decision of my life! I chose to study in Hanoi because it suited me down to the ground. Wherever you decide to take your TESOL course; Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, you are guaranteed a professional and comprehensive learning experience. There’s no need to worry about legitimacy with this qualification – it is simply one of the best you can have. This is not just because of its worldwide acceptance, but mainly because of the comprehensive range of skills that are learnt throughout the course. Not only did this course give me the professional qualification I needed for my career aspirations, but it’s an incredible opportunity to make new friends and immerse yourself into a new culture.

The course itself is roughly four weeks in length, and although this may seem quite short, there’s no holding back with with course content. It’s an intense course, but what you get out of it is worth so much more. Everyone working at AVSE is fantastic and caring.

As an ex-student, I recommend that new course members approach it with an open mind, be adaptable to learning new things, manage your time well, engage with your course leader and others around you, show participation, and really enjoy it while it lasts – because time will fly! Soak in the professional, social and cultural environment, and prepare to change your life for the better.

My journey started with the CertV TESOL with AVSE, and now with this qualification I am exploring my potential, working as an International School IT Teacher in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The AVSE Tesol program has provided me with the skillset required to be a successful Teacher in Vietnam and I am thriving.

Since my completion with my education at AVSE, I have been working non stop!

Taking their course IN CLASS and ONSITE is the ONLY way to truly be prepared for the real teaching world in Vietnam. AVSE provides hands on experience and steadily guides students through an understanding of the Vietnam culture. This skillset is a necessity in building strong relationships with Vietnamese parents, students and future employers.

AVSE Teachers and Administration prepared me to be the best teacher I could be. They care about their students and quickly became my extended family.

I am so thankful for all the hard work and guidance they invest in their students to make them not just great Teachers but AMAZING Teachers!

AVES-TESOL course in Phnom Penh exceeded my expectations. David and SJ were absolutely amazing from start to finish. The course was intense, David was very knowledgeable and kept us focused throughout the course. SJ always there to answer our questions and made sure we were in the right class for teaching practice. I was impressed by many of her attributes including her calm demeanor and understanding the local culture. I’ve learned so much in four weeks and made long life friends that I will never forget. I highly recommend AVSE-TESOL to anyone that is interested in teaching abroad.

The AVSE-TESOL training course in Phnom Penh met every need, answered every question, and fulfilled every expectation I had after moving from the U.S. to gain the necessary skills for successful English teaching. Both the instructor, David and location manager, SJ went above and beyond to make our class feel safe and at home—in and outside of the classroom. While adjusting to the cultural changes, and navigating around the city, they were always willing to provide guidance.

In addition to the nurture of the AVSE staff, the content of our training was both comprehensible and appropriately challenging. Each day, David brought in new activities or methods to help engage different students, and to present the information effectively. I’ve learned more here in four weeks than in months of a traditional college-learning environment. The topics were introduced in unique ways that excited us to project his teaching styles to our own classes. David also proved himself to be competent in the field, with references to personal experience and lessons given from successes and mistakes.

I’d definitely encourage anyone looking to teach in this area of the world to sign up with AVSE. Besides the quality education gained within the course, the post-course job assistance is extremely helpful during our transition from TESOL student to new English teacher. SJ puts in dedicated work to find suitable schools to begin our careers in.

This course provides the most value considering the price, and will result in lasting connections and friendships, most importantly!

The Phnom Penh course provided me with the skills to be able to control a classroom through different learning and teaching techniques. David is a great teacher who gets the best out of you.

Any query I have had since before leaving home up until now, Sj has been available to answers questions and was a great help organising everything.

I signed up for TESOL training in Hanoi, Vietnam through TEFL Heaven and found that the training was to be provided by AVSE. I was extremely satisfied with my whole experience with AVSE – from start to finish. An AVSE staff member picked me up from the airport, helped me get settled into the hotel and then toured me around the area, including helping me get setup with a mobile service provider. Also with the support of their amazing staff I had a job lined up before I had finished the training!

The training was very good indeed. The instructor was very knowledgeable, full of energy, humorous and interesting. His great teaching style really helped us to understand the concepts of teaching ESL such as classroom discipline, teaching methods and lesson planning, along with a whole host of other very useful information which I have used extensively in my subsequent teaching practice.

I wholeheartedly recommend AVSE for TESOL training. At the end of the month you will have knowledge, a good set of tools and the confidence to go hit the classroom and teach ESL learners of all ages!

The course is absultely amazing, the trainers prepare you well for teaching!! My wife and I found a job the day we finished the course and we’re assisted by SJ in finding an apartment close to our school! Definitely a 5 star course provider

I’m from the U.K. and this is the first time I have travelled abroad to work. I found out about AVSE through a good report on someone’s YouTube vlog. After looking at some of the other company’s that offer ESL qualifications in Vietnam, I decided on AVSE. I didn’t know what to expect.

I found that the staff at AVSE were extremely nice and willing to help and/or give advice with any issues I come up against. Andrew the course leader was excellent, he was able to keep the atmosphere relaxed yet pertinent, which I found very conducive to my style of learning. There is a lot of work involved in the TESOL course as well as teaching experience with real students, this was a real plus for me.

AVSE have also help me to secure a job, which I am due to start very soon. The accommodation was very close to the school, which was great and there are plenty of lovely places nearby serving tasty food and delicious drinks. All at very cheap prices. All in all AVSE gets thumbs up from me and would recommend it.
