Was a great course. Our instructor David Chalker was an amazing instructor, such a great guy and true champion. Accommodation was good.

I completed my TESOL in Phnom Penh with AVSE through the International TEFL academy. Not only did I pick up a library’s worth of wisdom from my instructor Russell (great guy, really knows his stuff and is hilarious) but I also got to experience the humble lifestyle of the Khmer children at the school. I had a wonderful experience and would most definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of doing their TESOL.

I’d say AVSE is one of the best schools in Vietnam when it comes to TESOL certification course. I’ve learned a lot, not only about ESL teaching, but also about the education culture in Vietnam. All good memories in this school.

My name is Artem, 34 years old, citizen of Russian Federation.

I have started TESOL course in January of 2018, and it was a fantastic learning experience for me. I hold Master’s Degree in Education, and I had done some teaching in languages centre before the course so I thought I knew a bit about it all…

I never imagined I could learn so much in a month! Pure practice and a bit of theory. The course is intense but very rewarding. The tutors were incredibly knowledgeable and professional and always had time to help students out. The school facilities were great, clean and spacious, and school staff made sure we had everything we needed.

This is easily one of the best courses I have ever done. I would definitely recommend AVSE and their TESOL course.

After TESOL course I am now ready to start this new chapter in my life.

If you have doubts about coming to Vietnam to start new life with TESOL course at AVSE – here is my advice to you: pack your bags RIGHT NOW!

I’m about to turn 60 and I haven’t been in a school environment since 1975. I guess for anyone considering moving to a foreign country to study a TEFL course it’s a big deal. However, I need not have worried as I was met at the airport, taken to my accommodation arranged for by the school and given a tour of the neighbourhood.

The four week course was comprehensive, informative and offered crucial practical experience. I’m personally grateful that we got to teach actual students ranging in in age and knowledge of English as a second language. There’s a lot to get through in four weeks, however the well designed course plan, quality feedback, awesome fellow students, the friendly and helpful staff at AVSE and not to forget our instructor’s dry sense of humor made it possible for me to get through all the required assignments on time.

I’d personal like to thank all the staff at AVSE for their friendly, helpful and informative support.

I have thoroughly enjoyed taking this course. I learned more than I anticipated and I feel ready to embark on a teacher’s journey here in Vietnam. I would highly recommend this course to others in the future, especially if you considered taking this course online. Having a teacher every day to ask questions, learn from and having a supportive class is so much more helpful than I can relate in words. Thanks for all the support!!!

I was unsure whether I should complete my TESOL qualification online in my home country or complete it in Vietnam. AVSE was recommended to me by friends that completed the course at the beginning of the year. I definitely made the right decision to complete my course at AVSE in HCMC. I won’t say that the month in Go Vap district has been without its struggles but what I will say is that the support offered was amazing. With a great teacher and a supportive house and class the experience was a meaningful one. Also, what’s great about doing your Tesol through AVSE is that you get hands on teaching experience in HCMC and get a taste of real Saigon living. A special thank you to all the staff at AVSE, especially Will who was always willing to go the extra mile.

As a single mother taking the jump to try a totally new experience in another country with your children to most people seems crazy!

But it has been the best desicion of my life!

Peter at avse was so informative and helpful at all times and answered all of my many emails promptly and informatively! even connecting me with other parents to hear about their experiences with the course and Vietnam.

So I have just completed the course at avse in Hanoi and the course has lived up to all of my expectations above and beyond!

Teacher Paul and secretary jenny were amazing which has made my time here in Hanoi so memorable and positive!!! I have made many new life long friends from the course and the gift of teaching English has been the most rewarding of all my careers!!!

The abundance of opportunities in Vietnam made my desicion of where to go extremely hard but just 1 day after finishing the course I have decided to head to ha long bay. I can’t thank avse enough!!! Cheers guys ?

When I was first looking into completing my TEFL qualification, I pondered whether to do it online or take an in class course. Online was a briefly tempting option because of how cheap they can be, but in the end I opted to study at AVSE. I’m 100% sure I made the right choice.

It was only once I started the course that I realised how hard teaching would be. The first week I wondered if I could really do this. A standard TEFL class is about 2 hours, which can seem like a lot of time to fill. By the time i’d finished the course three weeks later, I felt confident that I could do the job required, but I could do it well.

The lessons themselves have a great mix of theory and practical, where you are encouraged to be creative. You have plenty of opportunities to practice your presenting in front of your classmates before teaching real students yourself. These teacher practices are like gold, and a fantastic opportunity to learn ‘on the job’.

The course is fantastic, and the fact that they guarantee you a job afterwards means that you have nothing to stress about. If you choose to look for a job yourself, once people know that you’ve gone to AVSE they will want to hire you. That there is the best indicator of quality.

Taking this TESOL course to gain my TESOL certification was definitely the best decision I have ever made in my entire life. Not only was it more cost efficient and timely compared to getting one through my University at home, but it’s nationally accredited and it GUARANTEES me a job after the course is over; the school actually goes out of it’s way to edit your resume, and search for job offers for you! Also, being a native English speaker, I would be making more money in USD than what I am currently making right now in the US, which is amazing considering how everything is 50-90% cheaper in Vietnam than in the US. Aside from the immense benefits this course offers, the course itself was engaging and challenging at the same time, and the community created here is like having a second family; my peers, and I, came from various places around the globe, with ages from 20 years old to as old as 70, yet we were all here with the same goal in mind, so it was no question as to why we bonded so quickly. My teacher was the best of the best, with a fresh, invigorating, and creative approach to teaching us the skills necessary to teach English to non-native speakers, and I not only gained and improved my public speaking abilities, but I also learned teaching techniques that covered the 4 areas (reading, writing, listening, and speaking), and how to teach those areas using different methods applicable to ages as young 2 years old, all the way to students as old as 20 and above. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to get the most out of their TESOL certification, and to anyone who wants to enjoy a life abroad doing something to not only enrich your own life, but to enrich the lives of others, as well. If you’re thinking about it, just DO IT. You will not regret an experience like this.
