I chose this course because I felt that I would learn more if I was taught in a classroom as opposed to doing a course online, but I got so much more for my money than I expected.

The course teacher, Chris, was able to every question I had related to the English language and teaching in general. These questions would have been left unanswered if I had done an online course.

The manager, Kevin, gave new life to my boring old CV by turning it into a beautiful power resume. This got me multiple job offers within days of finishing the course.

This course doesn’t just offer the TEFL certificate (as most courses do), but also support in finding work and VISA information.

If I was to do another TEFL course, this company would be my first choice.

First and foremost I would like to thank the director Kevin Cullen, for accepting into the TEFL Certification Program, in Bangkok and I would also like to thank our instructors Chris was an excellent instructor.

The TEFL school isn’t just a school for learning English there are several Thai lessons as well incorporated in the course on the culture of Thailand which i found very useful. The schools academic staff cares about you as an individual, as well not just as a body to fill seats in the course. I highly recommend this school to anyone who is thinking about or looking to take a course. The course also teaches you how to complete full lessons plans for which is helpful in getting you ready for your six hours of student teaching in a actual class room setting at a nurses college and a university in the area. Overall i give this school 5 stars thank you very much for a memorable and a enjoyable learning experience.

I took this course to prepare me for teaching Thai students science in the English language. With no prior experience of teaching this, I was recommended Vantage and it’s 120hr TEFL classroom course.

The class was intensive however the lead trainer made it manageable and fun, while demonstrating the skills I need to use within the classroom, eliciting responses and praising constantly, creating a workshop instead of a lecture classroom environment. During the Practicum, I learned from hands on experience in the classroom, and taught from small groups of 8 to large classes of 52 students, which has developed me into a versatile and professional teacher while in the comfortable position of it being within a training environment.

Another trainer taught cultural norms of Thailand and the different expectations and teaching techniques that are used compared to western classrooms and taught some lessons of Thai language which demonstrated difficulties in language learning and thus gave me a better understanding of the students perspective and common problems and solutions that may arise.

I learnt how to create different and detailed lesson plans each covering a topic of my choosing which enabled me to successfully deliver 6 classes to non-English speaking students. Each plan I made was first reviewed by the lead trainer where I had to show my teaching aims, learner objectives anticipated problems with the actions to remedy them and demonstrate I understood how to deliver said points in a detailed plan of what both the students and I would do.

I found myself improving with every class, and encouraged to first critique myself, so I can spot problems myself, as opposed to be told of them first by someone else. Because this allowed me to think about what I could improve first, lead to quicker corrections resulting in the next lesson I was a much more rounded and improved teacher.

I’m ready to teach, and I am confident I can teach a great class!

I have participated in the combined TEFL course. I studied the 20 modules online and then attended the centre for the practicum.

As I was working, it suited me to study online. I worked my way through the 20 modules over about a 7 week period. I had no difficulty doing the work online and the programme was well organised and everything worked effectively. On occasion, it might have been good to have had a real time discussion with a tutor about what I was studying, but generally it was not an issue. Support can be accessed from an online tutor, but I’m talking about in the moment support. Near the end of the course, I did access the online tutor with a couple of questions and did receive prompt replies within 24 hours.

I attended the centre for the practicum. I taught 6 lessons over a period of two weeks. Initially, I thought that was an overly generous time allowance for doing 6 lessons, but the actually planning and revision of lessons following feedback did take considerable time. The advice and support I received from both Kevin and Chris, was specific, targeted and very useful. It was also valuable to observe other trainees and to learn from their experiences. I have thoroughly enjoyed doing the course and have no hesitation recommending it.

Vantage was awesome! The class was intensive but our trainers kept it fun so the time just whizzed by. And while I learned a lot from the course book, it was what I learned in the classroom that me made into a professional teacher.

I first learned how to create an efficient lesson plan so I could successfully deliver to a language class to non-English speaking students. Each plan I made was first reviewed by the lead trainer. I had to include such things as my teaching aims, the learner objectives and detail any anticipated problems with actions I could take.

As hard as this was in the beginning, with each subsequent lesson plan I seem to get better and faster so that by the end I pretty much had the ‘art’ making lesson plans down pat.

The observed teaching practice were great and a lot of fun. Thai students are so polite!

This is where I developed my teaching skills. I found myself improving with every class—aide by the excellent advice provided by the course instructors. At the end of every critique, I was always given a new challenge to incorporate in my next class.

The bottom lines is that I am confident that the knowledge I’ve learned and the skills I have formed in this course will stay with me throughout my teaching career.

I’m ready to teach.

As a non-native English speaker. I was more than concerned about my prospects about getting a job as an English teacher. From the first class days, Vantage more than put me at ease.

The entire Vantage training team is highly qualified. Their professionalism was the key that turned my initial reluctance about teaching English into a blooming self-confidence. There’s a lot of material to cover in four weeks, but each class was so engaging, that they workload is enjoyable and manageable.

Where I really developed my teaching skills was through practice sessions followed by expert feedback. I had 7 hours of observed teaching to non-English speaking students. The feedback I got after each teaching session made a huge difference in knowing what to do and what to avoid. This real-time classroom experience was a huge ingredient in learning how to teach.

Vantage also have their own dedicated jobs coach. Not only do they show you how to build your own Power Resume and coach you on interview strategies and techniques, they link you into their network. I secure an interview the week before graduation through Vantage at a school very near my home.

I can definitely say that my experience at Vantage gave me all the necessary skills I needed to be a great teacher. If you looking to build a teaching career, these are your guys!

I have always had plans to work abroad and Thailand is one of those places. I have taught children in for almost five years but I feel there was a need to venture out and get out of my comfort zone because a comfort zone is definitely a place where you don’t grow. So, teaching is what I love and I admit that I still lack the skills of being a good teacher, but coming to Vantage and being here for four weeks had really given me the opportunity to grow and rediscover myself.

We had engaging class sessions, went through the course materials, prepared lesson plans for our teaching practice, taught at the nursing school and yes, indeed it was a whole lot of work and fun at the same time. Taking the TEFL Course really took me to a whole new level in the teaching line and I believe I was at the right place just at the right time.

What I enjoyed the most was the sessions me and my friends had with our lead trainer Chris. It was altogether a different classroom experience and not like the typical classroom that I used to be in. Here, it’s what you call an interactive classroom environment, you feel free to ask anything to clear your doubts without being shy of making silly mistakes. I learned a lot from Ryan, our Thai language teacher and also from Kevin, our Course Director who helped me with writing the ‘Power Resume’ and giving more tips on job interviews. If I were given the chance to join the class, I would still do it all over again because I’m sure it will continue to build my confidence twice over but I believe all good things must come to an end.

Vantage is a place that will be missed and I highly recommend anyone who would like to teach in Thailand or abroad to come to here because they will make you a good teacher. As it is rightly said, “A good teacher is one who has good students.”

Chris, Kevin and Ryan make an excellent TEFL Trainer team! This is one of the best courses I have ever taken in my life and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! I found out about the program through iTTT and definitely do not regret taking it with Vantage Siam. I learned a lot from Chris and his depth of experience in the field of teaching and I believe that you will too! Everything that is done in class definitely prepares you for your first day of teaching to real life Thai students. Every step of the way, I felt I was duly prepared by instruction in class as well as tips from Chris and the rest of the team. There were a few moments of panic but nothing unexpected from never having taught before. All in all I had a really great time with my group of teachers and feel as if I have developed some new skills thanks to the team at Vantage. I am now ready to teach English!

I decided to take the TEFL Certificate Couse with Vantage to gain confidence and knowledge to become different from the others. The lead trainer at Vantage is one of the best teachers I have ever studied with in my life! He explains and answers every question in details. Don’t worry if you never have experience in teaching before, because this course was very well designed and covered very thing you need in the future to become a successful teacher in the classroom.

Vantage’s lead trainer, Chris, is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my life! He goes into details, he explains and answers every question very accurately! That is amazing! Besides this, the course was very well designed and very varied (phonetics and phonology, methodology, grammar, management classroom, evaluation and testing, materials compilation, teaching techniques, and lesson plans) and it prepares you to be more hugely more confident and very successful in the classroom.

The teaching practicum was one of the highlights of the course because everything you do as a teacher is analysed. After the feedback I got after each of the six practices was really interesting and very helpful in learning from this experience.
