Vantage was a great choice to do my TEFL certification. This was a comprehensive course with great support.

Taking part in the lessons locally in Thailand was an amazing experience. The course fee was reasonable as well. For the same price that many of my peers paid for an online TEFL certification I was able to enjoy the course and cover my living expenses.

The curriculum is comprehensive and well written. Vantage add a lot spice this in terms of great practical ideas for the application of the teaching methodologies taught. The special supplementary material that Vantage has created covers assessment methods and emerging teaching techniques that most TEFL coursed don’t cover.

But any course is only as good as its trainers. Here Vantage really stands out. The course was brilliantly delivered and any dry content is delivered a highly engaging way. Chris does a great job covering the material. Vantage uses a workshop style to teach—as opposed to a traditional lecture format—which facilities a lot of discussion and keeps enthusiasm at a high level

They also have their specialized Jobs Coach. This added part of the course focused on resume writing and interviewing techniques classes. They worked with me to arrange interviews for prospective jobs even before I graduated.

To me the practicum was the heart and soul of the class. It was these observed teaching sessions where my new knowledge was fused into real teaching skills. After each practice session, I got great feedback from the trainers, which helped me to improve my teaching skills quickly and efficiently.

Today, I feel highly confident, that I can start teaching successfully. I would highly recommend this TEFL course to anyone considering a teaching career. If you want to successfully stand in from of a classroom, these are the guys you want to be talking to.

I had a great time during the course. Learned a lot of valuable teaching techniques and enjoyed the fact that you have to give lessons and then received feedback on everyone.

Chris is the main course instructor and he makes the whole journey very enjoyable and fun. His knowledge of the English language is exceptional and his teaching techniques are inviting and he challenges the students in a positive manner.

I learned a lot about the language and about myself. The lessons I gave built a lot of confidence and prepared me well for a teaching position in a school or professional environment.

I had to give lessons in a government school between the ages of 6 and 13. I also had to give lessons at a nursing college. Students were between the ages of 20 and 50.

Looking back I am glad I choose Vantage Essential English. They gave me the best possible start to becoming a teacher. They also delivered everything they promised.

After my first week working as an English teacher I am glad to say that Vantage gave me all the essential tools to be able to run a classroom as well as able to give good classes. I am well prepared and even over prepared for becoming a great English teacher.

I found that this course offers a tremendous amount of content that is manageable within four weeks and is overall was a worthwhile educational experience in regard to teaching English as a foreign language. The Vantage Team was filled with great personalities, especially the lead trainer Chris whose persona makes the course an enjoyable experience. The course beat my expectations specifically, regarding course content wherein vantage will give you access to their teaching materials and tons of other sources after you have left vantage. The practice teaching experience was the most helpful part of this course. Specifically, we got the opportunity to teach at a nurse’s college and a government school which gave us outstanding insight into how to manage a classroom full of children and how to deal with teaching adults. Furthermore, I found that the feedback we received after each teaching practice session to be helpful because I was able to learn from my mistakes and then use a solution for the next lesson. In addition, I found the feedback for lesson planning to be useful because it helped me formulate better lesson plans for students in future classes.

The job assistance here has been helpful. Specifically, the jobs coach Kevin offered great job opportunities with reputable institutions that offer great benefits. Furthermore, regarding Kevin, his assistance in resume crafting and interview guidance was a helpful addition to the course that made me feel more prepared for contacting and communicating with potential employers.

Finally, the other students here have been an excellent group of colleagues ranging in all ages coming from all walks of life, making this experience a memorable one.

In sum, this course offers everything it says it will deliver and more beyond your expectations.

My experience with this course was great! The course itself was workshop based which I love because it’s a smaller, more intimate group, where you can really engage with your classmates and instructor. My instructor Chris, was very knowledgeable in his field and was also very open about sharing any extra reading materials we may need for our future teaching positions. The coursework was very detailed and I gained so much knowledge about teaching by the end of he course.

Another great thing about this course was that we learned how to make lesson plans step-by-step, taught our own students the lessons we created, and received feedback after each lesson. Receiving positive feedback from the Vantage instructors Chris, Ryan, and Kevin, helped me improve on certain things I needed to work on and built upon my strengths.

During the course, Kevin already put out my resume, so by the end of the course, I already had a job opportunity set up for me. I took that job and everything has been a great experience since. I was grateful that by the end of the course, I gained the knowledge and confidence I needed as a new teacher.

I came to Bangkok to take my TEFL certification. I wanted to get better credentials to teach English. Vantage was my first choice to do my TEFL and I am happy of that decision. The course was really great with a ton of support. The training team was there every step of the way.

The curriculum is well written. The lead trainer teaches with a lot of discusses and he shares a lot of his two decades personal experience in the classroom.

Any course is only as good as its trainers and this is where Vantage really stands out. The course was brilliantly delivered and any formal content like grammar is delivered a highly engaging way, which keeps enthusiasm of the entire class at a high level

I cannot recommend Vantage’s TEFL course enough. The staff was great, knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to make sure you finish as a competent teacher and land in an excellent teaching position.

I just recently completed Vantage’s in-house 120 hour course, here is my experience:

After making the leap of moving from the US to Thailand with the intent of teaching students English as a second language, I knew I didn’t want to figure it all out on my own. I knew the best path to take would be to get a TEFL certificate, but not just to receive a piece of paper saying I completed a course, I wanted proper instruction on how to teach.

To a native speaker, English is easy. We’ve grown up our whole lives speaking it, hearing it, reading it, and writing it for thousands of hours. However, once you start to try to explain how to form a simple sentence to a student unfamiliar with the language, it quickly becomes apparent how difficult teaching is. There are a lot of nuances and intricacies to teaching that make it a skill that takes years of practice. Sure, throwing yourself into a classroom full of kids and stumbling your way through a lesson is certainly an option, like many opt to do. But doesn’t it make more sense to have proper training, especially for something that could potentially affect someone’s entire life?

I opted to take Vantage’s in-classroom course due to the amount of positive reviews it received on various sites. From the very start I knew I was in good hands. Kevin helped me turn my list of teaching experiences into a potent resume and cover letter. I’ve always had trouble typing up a resume and cover letter. Kevin is a pro at it and knows how to take any experience you’ve had and turn it into a hot commodity on the teaching market.

The course itself lasts 4 weeks. Regular class hours go from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. On observed teaching nights, “class” lasts until 7:30 PM. It is an intense regimen, but it goes by quickly, and the experience is perfect for someone completely new to teaching, or who has some experience but wants to brush up on their skills. The course is taught by Chris, who is a competent, venerated teacher who knew the ins and outs of all aspects of classroom management, techniques, grammar, phonetics, and all manner of other things every teacher should know before stepping in front of a classroom. Chris was able to answer any and every question we had along with a great sense of humor. He went over each of our lesson plans with each of us before we went to teach our first classroom, and was extremely helpful in this regard. I genuinely enjoyed the course and was happy to show up to class every day.

The 6 hours of observed teaching practice were absolutely invaluable to me as a new teacher. We taught at Boromarajonani College of Nursing 3 nights a week. The students there are taught in groups no larger than 8, and are as well behaved and patient as any teacher could ask for. It is a wonderful proving ground for any new teacher.

By the 3rd week, Kevin set me up with an interview with a recruiter and I was offered a job at an excellent private school before the course had even finished.

I cannot recommend Vantage and its staff enough. If you want to get started teaching, either in Bangkok or elsewhere, this is the best place to start.

I had signed up for the combined TEFL online study course. I was to do the study part online and then attend the Vantage center for 2 weeks of teaching practice. I went to the Vantage center prior to my teaching practice and was invited to come sit through the whole course session, at no extra charge, even though I was already doing the study part online. I decided to go ahead and sit through the whole course and I’am so glad I did! You defiantly learn more from being in the classroom! I have been in Nursing for over 30 years and have never been up in front of a group of students in a classroom environment. This course has prepared and given me the total confidence to do that. So if you need a change of life, like I did, this is a great place to start! The folks here at Vantage will support you all the way.

After researching for the best TEFL course, Vantage made it to the top of my list. And apparently, it wasn’t just me, as I later learned that Vantage had won the 2018 Community Choice Award as the best overall TEFL program in the world. I was soon to learn why.

I had been teaching for four years, but nevertheless, I felt that there was something missing in my professional training.

At Vantage, I was taught in the ‘communicative approach’ to language teaching. During our practice teaching sessions, I first learned how to engage the students so they believed they were half directing the class. By using the layout of this approach to plan my lessons, I found they were more structured, more organized and far more effective in the classroom than what I did before.

The lead trainer Chris, was also highly articulate about the different concepts of the English language. He teaches in a workshop style rather than lecturer format so there are lots of discussions.

Vantage has its own Jobs Coach Kevin, who will sit with you and create a Power Resume. He also coached us on how to be effective interview techniques. I already had scheduled my first interview before I even graduated.

I highly recommend Vantage. I was guided, encouraged and sharpened each step of the way during this month-long course. Their quality of training far exceeded my expectations and I definitely got my money’s worth. You won’t be left unattended with these guys (Kevin, Chris and Ryan) —they go the extra mile to ensure you succeed.
