Vantage was established in 2007 and is Thailand’s highest rated TEFL program.

They offer a 120-hour, in-class TEFL course with 6 hours of observed teaching practice in Thai schools.

I recently completed the certified TEFL course, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. The curriculum was comprehensive, covering essential topics from grammar and lesson planning to classroom management and teaching methodologies. The instructors were knowledgeable and incredibly supportive, providing detailed feedback and real-world insights that were invaluable.

The course structure was well-organized, allowing for a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical application. I had an enjoyable experience overall, despite feeling that teaching was not for me at the very start, due to having already decided that I did not want to teach children of any age, but adults only, if at all.

It turned out that I was both right and wrong to a degree, as my first teaching practice was a very unpleasant experience with a large, noisy, difficult class of 10-12-year-olds at a mixed-age and ability school.

I felt unprepared to teach these children after being told at the course start that I would be practising teaching with adult nurses during the course, but then that option became unavailable at short notice.

 

That experience made me want to walk away from the course at that point, but Chris talked me around, explaining that most first-teaching class experiences are stressful and difficult, it´s normal.

My second teaching practice was much better, with a much more receptive and respectful class, so it was rewarding. Teaching Practises 4-6 were even better, at a Catholic Shelter, despite most of the class not speaking or understanding much English at all, as they were grateful for the free education, so they were a pleasure to teach. This also highlighted how much my preparation – so my confidence and delivery – had improved, due to the training and experience I´d received via Vantage.

I learned so much about what is required to become a good teacher – not just academically (though very important of course, as Chris´ mind-bending grammar lessons highlighted to me), but, just as importantly, I learned a lot about myself and my capabilities when I stick things out.

Kevin´s Power Resume class was a revelation and is so useful in preparing job applications.

If I still drank, I’d buy him a pint of “Old Pekular”..lol.

I would like to thank all the teachers from Vantage TEFL for their valuable training and unwavering support for my new career.

I have been have guided every step of the way on the path to be great teachers. I’m forever grateful for the knowledge, skills, and confidence Vantage has instilled in us. This course built a strong foundation for my future.

For me personally, the observed teaching practices were the highlight of the course. I was very nervous during my first couple of classes, but as my lesson planning skills improved, so did my performance in the classroom. The feedback I got after each class was truly valuable for me to be a highly qualified teacher.

Last but not least, I want to thank Vantage for their professional job assistance. The resume creation and interview coaching I received was the most essential thing I implemented in the ESL job market.

Vantage TEFL provided me with exceptional teacher training.

I had no teaching experience before I came Vantage having had a series of manugacturing related jobs.

I had my doubts as to my ability to teach. Vantage’s course put that to bed as I now feel confident I can teach anyone, anywhere.

Indeed, Vantage surpassed my expectations offering comprehensive training that developed valuable skills. The course’s direct approach and highly experienced instructors ensured high quality instruction.

Probably the most important part of the course was their observed eaching practices. I applied the the coursebook to real classrooms—gaining more confidence every time I taught.

Vantage was there every step of the way. They were responsive and supportive, making the my transition to successfully teaching almost seemless.

Overall, Vantage TEFL has transformed my life by preparing me for a rewarding career teaching English overseas.

They also have a dedicated Jobs Coach. Their resume creation and interview techniques, were invaluable during my job search.

I recently completed the TELF Course, and I wanted to provide my feedback on the experience. Overall, I found the course to be very useful and beneficial for my teaching journey at this moment. One aspect that stood out to me was the teaching style of my instructor, Chris. His unique approach created an exciting atmosphere in the class, making the learning experience engaging and enjoyable. Additionally, Chris, Kevin and Ryan consistently provided detailed feedback and valuable advice throughout the course, which greatly enhanced my learning.

One of the highlights of the course was the opportunity for practicing classes. These sessions allowed me to apply the knowledge gained and gain practical teaching experience. The experience of teaching in a real classroom setting was invaluable, and it provided me with lasting memories.

However, if I were to offer a suggestion for improvement, it would be regarding the availability of classroom resources. It would have been even more beneficial if the course had provided assistance and access to a wider range of classroom resources. Having additional materials and resources readily available would have further enriched the learning experience and better prepared me for actual teaching scenarios.

Despite this suggestion for improvement, I must emphasize that my overall experience with the TELF Course was positive. The knowledge and skills I acquired have been instrumental in my teaching journey. I appreciate the efforts made by the instructors and staff to create a productive and supportive learning environment.

In conclusion, I highly recommend the TELF Course for individuals looking to pursue a teaching career. It offers valuable insights, engaging teaching methods, and opportunities for practical experience. While there is room for improvement in terms of classroom resources, the benefits I gained far outweighed any shortcomings.

As I immersed myself in the TEFL course at Vantage, Kevin jokingly remarked that they would have our souls on lease for a month. He wasn’t far off with that statement. The intensity of the course was no joke, but amidst the daily grind of trying to pick up a new craft, there were also moments of sheer wonder.

Delving into the intricacies of teaching was absolute joy, even if it entailed dedicating weekdays to learning teaching methodologies, brushing up on my grammar skills, staring into space while grappling with phonological concepts, and meticulously crafting lesson plans on weekends. The profound satisfaction of witnessing eager faces in the classroom absorb it all was beyond compare and incredibly gratifying in the end.

Every stride I took on this path evoked memories of my own school days. It was a truly remarkable journey, brimming with one learning experience after another while acquiring the skills of the trade.

What made this journey exhilarating were the trainers – the dynamic trio of Chris, Kevin, and Ryan. Chris, the lead trainer, is a quintessential Englishman with a unique sense of humor that only the British can pull off and a wealth of knowledge. His teaching style is engaging – combining learning, laughter, and insight.

Kevin, an American, surprisingly excels in deadpan humor as well. He shared invaluable tips on resume building and interview techniques. His one-liners, delivered with a poker face, never failed to amuse us, apart from serving their main purpose of boosting our confidence.

Ryan, always calm and composed, effortlessly introduced us to Thai culture and classroom etiquette.

Their guidance and mentorship have paved the way for an exciting future in teaching. I eagerly look forward to the journey ahead, knowing that with their expertise behind me, I can assimilate bits and pieces from them as I find my own footing.

Perhaps one day, after accumulating teaching hours, I will be as impactful as Chris, Kevin, and Ryan have been to me. As Chris often emphasizes, and rightfully so, the best way to truly learn something is to teach it. I am committed to following his sage advice.

What an experience! I really enjoyed every moment at Vantage. I was a trainee between February and March 2024 and we were a class of 6 persons. We were all from different country, Myanmar, South Africa, Vietnam, Thailand and France, a dynamic and enthousiastic group. Chris our trainer gave us a great approach on how to become an excellent English Teacher. We have received all tools, pedagogy and practical courses. We were guided in a way that we couldn’t fail any aspects of the training program, please let me express my gratitude to Chris, Kevin and Ryan. At the beginning I felt a bit nervous teaching students but after the first 2 minutes I could manage myself and self evaluate my strenghts and weaknesses afterwork. The feedbacks given from Chris, Kevin and Ryan were detailed, clear and extremely professional. I definitely recommend the Vantage Siam Bangkok Training Center if you wish to improve your English knowledge and have a chance to work as a Teacher in Thailand or elsewhere. Do not hesitate sincerely and good luck to every one!

I really want to appreciate Mr.Chris and Mr.Kevin from here.They were my mentors.They guided me the proper way and gave effort and pressure to go the right way.Teaching materials included course books and also online materials to learn effectively.

Fun part was doing lessons plan for peer teaching and teaching to the students.It was really new to me and it was very challenging.But it was really worth to try.I really hope them to provide teaching materials like printer and transportation services to go to training schools for volunteer teaching practice.Overall is totally perfect.

I attended TEFL training at Vantage Siam Bangkok on February and March 2024. The course has provided the key requirements to be an English teacher. The course covered Teaching methodologies, Grammar and Pronunciation. Moreover, as a supplement, the course also provides the dos and don’ts in Thailand culture. The observed teaching practices promote our teaching experience. We have learned to use different teaching materials and class room management. The training at Vantage exceeds my expectations and it is the right place and right choice if you want to be a skillful English teacher. Last, but not least, I would like to contribute my heartfelt gratitude towards Tr. Chris, Kevin and Ryan for their kind support throughout training.
