A good course from a professional company!

PROs:

– well structured

– quality content

– challenging assignments with good feedback

– excellent customer support

CONs:

– assignment instructions could be more clear and straightforward

– the course is always on sale according to the website (usually 50% off), so its real value is probably the discounted price, not the “full price”

I enjoyed doing this online course. The in class training was very thorough and I learned so much with the interactions between myself, the trainer and other students. This course is really very complete and the study units are all easy to understand, but thorough. I will definitely recommend this course to other people.

Although 168 hours sounded like a lot, it went fast. The end of study unit tests was well structured to ensure we understood the work done in that unit. The assignments was challenging, but I can understand that it has to be if we are going to teach other people.

TEFL definitely assisted and gave great feedback with regards to each Assignment.

I took the Level 5 TEFL Course and it exceeded my expectations. The online lesson content was thorough and detailed. It included a number of photos, videos, and links to further resources to mix things up.

The course also included a variety of interactive elements to check my knowledge as I progressed through it. I liked the chance to do that informally throughout each lesson, and then a little more formally with the short tests at the end of the each lesson. It was useful to be about to get such instant feedback as I learned.

The assignments were honestly a lot harder than I was expecting, but that was a good thing as I finished feeling confident that my knowledge was well critiqued by people who know what they are doing. I now feel that I’m in good standing to begin teaching, although of course only time and practice will bring further confidence.

The only area of improvement that comes to mind is about teaching English online. I entered the course with more of an intention to teach online, and this is even more so the case right now considering the current world climate. Therefore, I would like to have seen a little more content directed specifically about teaching online rather than in person.

I took the level 5 TEFL course to broaden my employment possibilities. I found the course to be interesting with a lot of good information. I have already used some of the techniques in my classroom. I look forward to seeing what prospects will come with a new certificate.

I have successfully completed the level 5 – 168 hours course and I can say it was a really exhaustive course, which gave me a solid base for start teaching English to non-native students. The material given is really well done and complete; in each unit it focuses on a different aspect and element of English and teaching English, giving an excellent base for starting a TEFL career. Many useful tips and information are given during the course, and several tests allow you to check your progress. The essays required are challenging and give you the possibility to work on real lesson planning. Furthermore, they were always able to review mines quickly and give me detailed feedback.

Overall a great course that I would suggest to anybody who wants to approach the TEFL world.

What a great experience! When I was researching which TEFL company to apply to, I was met with such a vast majority of options and many of them looked as good as the next especially for someone who is doing this for the first time. However, The TEFL Academy stood out to me with its accreditation partners, competitive pricing (with a discount when signing up with my girlfriend), and simply offered more than any other TEFL course did. That’s why I decided to sign up with The TEFL Academy and do my combined 168 hour Level 5 Course with 148 hours of online course work and 20 hours of classroom work. There are no delays and you are ready to go from day one, and it was an absolute pleasure. The whole experience was a positive one with the course work challenging my abilities and understanding. The tutor feedback for each of the assignments was always detailed and extremely helpful. My experience with their help and support service was also very professional in times when I was uncertain of something and needed some guidance. Choosing The TEFL Academy was the best decision I could have made!

I completed a 168 hour, level 5 course through the Tefl Academy and I enjoyed every second of it. Being a native speaker, I was surprised at how much I learnt through this course and believe this course is going to be a great help in my efforts of becoming an online English teacher.

This is definitely the most comprehensive TEFL course out there. I have recently completed my level 5 (168 hours) online course. Each unit is full of valuable information (and guided with further reading articles / websites / resources).

The layout is easy to follow and one can navigate through it at one’s own pace. The feedback received from the markers / tutors, have been very thoroughly thought and explained, and positive criticism given to enhance things for future benefits of teaching as well as planning. You are given ample time to work through the course, and when struggling, the feedback from the tutors are effective and received within 24 hours of enquiring assistance.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is starting teaching, or plans to make a career change. The opportunity to teach abroad or to do online teaching is very easily obtainable with this course.

I am more than pleased with the TEFL academy! Thank you for the opportunity.
