I really loved the course here! It was comfortable to study at my own pace and the feedbacks provided me with informative and useful techniques on how I can improve in the future. The markers were really friendly and I enjoyed reading the feedback they gave me.

I like the structure of the course, however, the pictures were often repetitive so I hope they can maybe change to different pictures instead of using the same picture. Nevertheless, I found the example plans for the assignments were so helpful and really assisted me during the completion of my assignments.

Overall, I had a wonderful learning experience and thank you to the people working there.

My mother is an English teacher and, since I also want to follow in her steps, I decided to search for a TEFL course. I found this one and was initially nervous since this would’ve been the first online course I’d follow. Little did I know what enormous joy it would be!

Following the course online, in my own time, allowed me to decide my own pace and make sure that I had time to follow the course while also working.

I found the course easy to follow. Some lessons also had “extra info” like different teaching styles or techniques that I hadn’t even thought about, so that was an incredibly interesting thing.

When correcting my assignments the corrections where helpful and clear, and I felt motivated throughout to give my best.

I’m very proud to have completed the course and I’m incredibly happy with the course. Thank you!

Excellent! TEFL Acadamy Level 5 course was really worth the effort for me.

In my late age i really fond that the assingments provided for me good practical experience.

Quick replies for support was always on hand.

Having taken the TEFL Level 5 Qualifi course I would recommend taking it and in particular with the TEFL Academy. The TEFL Academy platform was very informative and delved into the step-by-step process of planning our lessons for the different skills and levels of the learners. The tutor feedback for our assignments was very extensive and it allowed me to provide a more nuanced response for the following assignments. Overall, I really enjoyed the course and the curriculum. I’m glad to have taken it.

I completed the online level 5 TEFL course with the TEFL Academy.

I am really happy with the experience.

I completed the course in just under 4 months, while working full time and it was completely doable.

The lectures were interesting and filled with helpful tips.

The assignments provided great practice of skills that will be applicable to a EFL teaching role, such as lesson planning.

When I required help I always received quick replies from support.

Overall super happy with this course!

Would definitely recommend!

Thank you the TFL Academy for not just giving the certificate to those who know English, but also pump up the skills of teaching itself.

The biggest advantage of the course is probably the attitude it shows. I did like the way it made me look at teaching process, going deeply into the history of each topic and enhacing the importance of each one of those.

It has some humor what makes studying more interesting. The knowledge I got is really applicable to everyday teaching and is suitable for any society you may work in.

The course helped me to come up with many ideas, specifically I started designing my own teaching materials for my students.

I haven’t started searching for jobs on the offered platforms as my turor lessons became very popular among my friend and my friends’ friends. I think is it success at some point! And I am grateful to the TEFL Academy for that 🙂

The few things I would recommend the creators to look at are the tiny inconveniences that appear while you submit the assignments or other files. After each action on the page it makes you scroll all the way down to the page’s bottom for the next step or to see whether everything is downloaded. It is not a big deal if you know about it, but it may be confusing, as I didn’t know that at the very beginning, and my work wasn’t submitted for several days until I found out I hadn’t completed the downloading process. The other thing I would like to say, is that some topics repeat, but on the other hand I guess it is made on purpose for students to see the importance of them.

In conclusion I would like to highlight that I am very happy I chose this course out of variety ones online, as it turned out very flexible in case you don’t have enough time to complete it, and is definitely very useful for your future teaching career.

I have no teaching experience and I didn’t know exactly what to expect from this course.

As far as the content, I am a very happy customer and I would recommend it to anyone.

Every aspect of teaching I could think of is at least introduced in one of the units.

A list of resources is offered for those who want to learn more.

The end of unit tests are very useful and so are the quizzes for recaps.

Since I currently have a full-time job I chose the course without teaching practice, so I can’t comment on that.

Also I haven’t looked for a teaching job yet so I wouldn’t be able to provide feedback on job assistance. Said that, I read very positive reviews about it and that is one of the main reasons why I chose this course.

The lesson plan guidance was good. I felt at times it wasn’t enough to understand what the assignments required. I found it challenging to work on the assignments and worked very hard on them. However I managed to pass each of the assignments at the first attempt, so now I think that the guidance was good enough and the effort required for the assignments was acceptable, if not necessary in order to learn.

What I struggled the most was communication and feedback.

I may be a bit biased because I also discussed with other students and alumni who were also unhappy and frustrated about it.

I’m sharing this just hoping it can help you to figure out where things can be improved, even if there isn’t an easy solution.

From more than one person’s experience, I have the impression that in some occasions the feedback given by tutors is not clear and it’s hard to get further explanations.

In my case, I had to chase some answers about one of the assignments for a while, via many tickets and eventually calling customer service a few times and having the senior tutor sort it out.

I appreciate it that everyone does their best and I am sure tutors have a lot of work to do, but from a student’s (customer’s) point of view it isn’t a good experience.

Luckily I planned my studies well, so I had the time to wait for replies without having to extend my course time, and I managed to complete the course within 6 months.

I’m used to chasing people relentlessly at work, but I didn’t expect to use this skill while attending this course.

I need to add that the customer service people on the phone and chat are very friendly and helpful and they deserve to be praised!

However, overall I am very happy with this course and I would recommend it.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the TEFL Academy Level 5 course. I now feel much more confident in my ability to lesson plan, which has always been the most stressful part for me.

First of all I have to say that I already have a teaching experience of about ten years which might influence my views and also my opinion may not fit to those who have just thought about teaching or have just started.

Doing some further education online was one reason why I joined this course, so I had my own timetable and was able to organise all the courses myself. Of course you have to plan wisely and motivate yourself because noone will remind you. For me it was important to get new knowledge about didactics and some feedback. The assigments are pretty good because they offer detailed feedback and the TEFL Academy offers guidelines that makes it possible for everyone to pass them if one just puts enough effort to manage it.

The Units definitely stress didactics and tipps on teaching. In my opinion, it lacks a lot of theory on grammar all above for people who will start to teach and don’t have any linguistic or teaching experience. English is not my mother tongue so I have learned a lot of theory – plus I have taught it myself for many years. A mother tongue maybe might lack it depending on what he learned or on the current job. The units itself motivate learners to study grammar on their own by providing extra information and links, but I wonder whether everyone will do so. However, for me it was not of high importance, I hope I have already all the theory in my head.

I like the way also negative aspects of being a teacher are mentioned; new teachers can absolutely prepare themselves to deal with the goods and bads.

The materials are pretty good and also offered me a lot of new opportunities, new ideas and also it got me out of the routine – after a decade of teaching I felt motivated to try out new stuff, amazing. The way the TEFL academy insists on eliciting and the way to pre-teach vocabulary wasn’t my first choice, maybe because I have rather learned Latin didactics and Latin teachers of course rather tend to simply explain rules. We can learn from both sides.

The information given during the units is tested by small exercises and “activities”, some are rather made to simply repeat the just learned contents and may rather help to keep you attentive but don’t really teach you something. Other activities however really make you learn more – all about the grammatical theory.

All in all, the TEFL course was worth it – even for experienced teachers it can offer new ways to look at their work and lessons. Plus the price is pretty convenient, if you take the content into consideration.
