If you need to do a TEFL course, I would highly recommend this course. The course material is relevant and detailed. The standards are very high and you need to put in hard work in order to pass. The assignments are well explained and you have a good idea of what is expected.

The course instructors are very professional and clearly explained any parts of the assignment that you submitted which are not up to standard. My instructor also gave excellent advice and guidance during the feedback on all the assignments.

The only area that I has some issues with was the webpage itself. To me it is not user friendly. However with a little bit of exploring you soon get the hang of it.

The course is well priced and you are getting every cents worth out of the course. As a native English speaker, there were many parts of the English language I had never even heard of that were in the course material.

So for value for money and a qualification that is worth more than just the paper it is written on, you certainly can’t go wrong with The TEFL Academy.

I recently completed the TEFL Academy Level 5 (168 hours) online course. I really enjoyed my experience. The website was very easy to use. All the activities and test are well designed to test your knowledge and understanding. The assignments are intense and the feedback is really constructive and helpful. I am very happy that I chose to study with the TEFL Academy as the course is accredited and I feel ready to start my career as a TEFL Teacher. I would highly recommend this course to serious and dedicated students.

A triple ‘A’ course with out doubt. I found the course challenging, taxing and at times nerve raking as I attempted the end of unit test, and while waiting for the written assignment reviews.

Any body who is contemplating teaching foreign learners must attempt this course. Not only does it provide tuition concerning English grammar, pronunciation and punctuation, it also provides great advice with regard to delivery. Any teacher will benefit form undertaking this course.

A must do for any aspiring teacher.

Overall, I found this course to be helpful in preparation for becoming an EAL language teacher. The course material was excellent with support from tutors if needed.

I just finished the 168-hour 5 Level TEFL course, and I am satisfied with it. I enjoyed every lesson because it extended my knowledge about planning a lesson and creating activities for my students. The course materials are practical and beneficial. The content of the videos is generally good and informative. The instructors gave me honest feedback that can help me improve my work. Overall, the course gave me a solid structure on which to build my teaching career.

What you get is access to course materials for 6 months.

You cannot download or keep the materials.

They use a negative marking system so each wrong answer cancels out an entirely unrelated correct one. There’s no rationale given for this.

Assignment instructions are opaque & split across many documents. It is very difficult to work out what to do.

Marking is very slow & varies greatly in quality. I had no confidence that parts of my assignments were read.

I would not have paid for this course had I realised that I was basically paying to look at it, not own it.

I felt that the delays were designed to make me pay for an extension.

I took up the TEFL Level 5 course recently and have just completed the course within six months. I was doing the course whilst working and carrying out my duties as a mum. Needless to say it took a lot of juggling to do all that. I was very fortunate to have enrolled for my course at the TEFL Academy and the way their course was laid out was so excellent. They provided very clear lectures on all topics and even provided heaps of resources for each and every topic. I could confidently say that their course structure was very user friendly and thus enabled me to finish the course. The support I got as a student was commendable.

The assignments were challenging and very thought provoking – I really liked them as they prepared me for my future as teacher. These assignments helped me to put into use all the stuff I have learnt in the course and helped built my confidence in teaching English as a foreign language.

The tutors were very encouraging and their guidance and encouragement helped me out greatly in my journey to become a TEFL teacher.

Overall I strongly recommend the TEFL level 5 course to anyone considering a TEFL qualification. You can’t get a better structured course that is so thoughtfully laid out and yet very interesting and enjoyable. I had a very wonderful experience the past six months navigating through the course.

Overall I really enjoyed studying the course. It covered topics that a teacher needs to be able to teach, very thoroughly. I especially liked when they taught me the format of how to plan listening and reading lessons. This will be very useful for the future. The course had great quality instruction and practice. The layout of the course was very good and so was its format. Everything was clear and easy to understand. The resources provided were excellent and the feedback given was really helpful! I did struggle a bit as I had to rush the course towards the end but if you space it out correctly you will be sure to complete it. I recommend this course to whoever wants to teach English in the future.

The TEFL Academy course was fantastic. Extremely thorough and by the end I felt genuinely prepared to step into a classroom (I have zero teaching experience). Really looking forward to putting these new skills into practice.
