Description

Our 4-week courses leading to the Certificate in TEFL are held at our training centre here in central Toulouse in South West France. We have an excellent local and national reputation, and our courses are externally accredited by IATQUO. Plenty of teaching work is available in France and around the world after the course. We offer lifetime job guidance and a range of well priced accommodation options.

Trainees receive over 70 hours of input theory regarding English grammar, phonology, and how to improve students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Trainees teach 6 one hour lessons and receive in-depth lesson planning help, observation and feedback from qualified trainers.

I did the 5 week TEFL course at TEFL Toulouse in March/April 2025, and it was the best decision I have made in a long time.

Jonathan and his team (Dimitri, Claire and Julie) were all really lovely, made everyone feel at ease, and were great teachers and mentors.

There were 6 of us in that intake, all of us from different backgrounds, having different plans for the future, and the course felt like it was adapted to each of us.

There was so much attention paid to each one of us, as individual, which is something I’m sure you can’t say for a lot of schools, certainly not online ones. That, if nothing else, made the cost of the course more than worthwhile.

Even since finishing the course, I have been getting a lot of support from Jonathan in my job search.

I can’t recommend TEFL Toulouse highly enough!

TEFL TOULOUSE required a good amount of commitment to study and practice, as I believe all TEFL courses do at this high level of quality training. But I found it to be very enjoyable! Everyone in my group enjoyed it!

It’s a brilliant way to teach people English. Very effective and often fun! And the teachers were all great and very helpful!

The location of the school is in a very nice part of Toulouse and walking distance to the centre – Le Capitole.

Jonathan the director has been very supportive and generous with his time in helping me with my post-Brexit French visa application. And Dimitri the administrator is also very kind and very helpful!

I can highly recommend it!

A very intense course of 4 weeks. But it was worth it. The course is very well structured. The teachers are very competent. They also put me in touch with different people for job openings right after the course. I already have a couple of offers I am looking at. Thank you TEFL Toulouse

PROS:

TEFL Toulouse was a great introductory program to teaching English—and the team is truly fantastic. What’s most helpful about this program is that they help you look for a job, offering materials to write a proper CV, a cover letter, what to ask in an interview, what to charge, etc.

And they truly do mean it when they offer job guidance for life! I took the TEFL course at the end of 2021 but wasn’t ready to become a teacher until the beginning of 2024. I emailed Jonathan asking if he would be a reference on a Thursday; he answered immediately saying yes and telling me about a few schools that were hiring; I had an interview on that Friday; and I started the job the next Monday! Wouldn’t have known about this opportunity without their help!

CONS:

The TEFL course puts a lot of stress on teaching classes for children, which is helpful—but we students taking the TEFL course are not children ourselves, which means we may have jobs/responsibilities/etc. and may need to check emails during the day. Since we are clients paying for a course and not children taking a class, I believe this should be respected.

TEFL Toulouse team, having the TEFL qualification and experience in teaching helped land me a job as a Centre Manager for a language school in the UK. I wanted to say a huge thank you for helping me land my dream job! I loved my month in Toulouse and remain friends with the people I met on this course. My confidence has improved massively as a result of the training and I’m so glad I can continue to use these skills in my career. Thank you Jonathan for remaining in touch and helping me out even 2 years after the course. Would recommend this course to everyone looking for an international experience, a taste of teaching and a chance to develop these skills in a safe and supportive environment (in the South of France no less!)
