I found that I repeated a few things covered in the previous course, and would have preferred more practice sessions. A video of someone actually giving a class would also have been helpful. The course was good however.

Joanne’s lessons were clear and effective. She gave us a chance to practice our own online lessons in front of other students. Her feedback and encouragement gave me confidence that I can go forth and teach like a pro.

This was a very practical and enjoyable course and it was good being able to see what other students were doing and to share suggestions. The tutor was clearly very experienced and made sure everyone participated. It’s a great confidence booster when you are peer-reviewed, and to know that you’re on the right track!

TEFL Org has been a useful education courese as it has provided me resources and knowledge required to get into teaching. The online teaching practice content consisted of planning a lesson and the opportunity to present short classes with feedback. I think this is particularly useful for those who lack confidence in teaching English online. Receiving feedback from other students gave me insight into how to make my classes interactive and run smoothly. Kirsty, the tutor, feedback was a valuable resource in class due to her experience. She was friendly and gave constructive feedback, which helped improve the second class we presented. We bonded in our group because of our eagerness to learn, which made the experience fun. I also enjoyed watching others present their class as this gave me new ideas of how I can teach.

From my understanding, this course is not really meant to teach you how or where to find a job, though some advice is given. We were referred to other resources to look for this.

The Online Teaching course and lesson plans bundle is very useful for a new teacher like myself. I have learned a lot from the coursework, but also every much during the virtual classroom where we got to create our own lessons and practice teaching with like-minded people. Kirsty helped us a lot along the way, she made us excited and eager to learn, have us suggestions on how to improve, and she gave us lots of guidance. I liked how she acted like a real foreign student and asked questions we might actually get in an online class, and also presented some issues that might come across like dyslexia etc. I am very grateful for all of that.

Overall, the TEFL Org has been an excellent source of growth for me. In particular, the 6-hr Practicum course. Kirsty, the instructor, was very friendly and helpful in making sure that each of us in the class were able to understand and apply the things we have learned. I would definitely recommend this course as well as other courses to anyone considering becoming an ESL teacher.

Good tutor, interesting course, learned a lot, good explanation of technical issues which gave increased confidence, good advice on contacts and resources. Would have liked even more teaching practice with real students but, overall, very good value for money!

I enjoyed the 6 hours practice with Joanna and the other students. She was very thorough with the practice feedbacks, gave us great feedback on how to improve lessons. She was also very helpful throughout. 10/10 from me.
