I found this Oxford Tefl online starter course very useful, it has helped alot in many different aspects on English in teaching and learning it as a language it has opened more views to me in what I would like to do now and I recommend it to anyone who would like to start teaching or get to know more about it but doesn’t know where to start you’ll find it very useful and beneficial.

This review is for the Teaching Young Learners online course.

The course provided a very comprehensive overview of teaching Young Learners for EFL teachers who are not experienced in this area. It looked at the differences between teaching YLs and adults and covered different types of activities such as games, drama, projects, stories, arts and crafts etc, providing some useful resources. I found the course very beneficial and now feel a lot better equipped to venture into this field.

Taking the Oxford TEFL Online Business English course was such a good experience! The structure of the course was set up in a logical and very practical way. I cannot emphasize enough how helpful it was to receive new insight on using technology in BE class. My tutor was very professional and friendly. I did an online Teaching Business course and really enjoyed it. In some ways it was a refresher but in many, it gave me lots of fresh new ideas of things I want to try in the classroom and out of it too. The instructor was always willing to help and answered questions , if i had any. Her feedback was positive and helpful. She usually made me think of more options, which I appreciated. It really helped me get back some of my “mojo” which I had lost due to not doing any professional development for a while. Something I won’t neglect again.

Through teaching practice, the course does a great job of getting you ready to begin teaching right from the start (we were teaching on the second day of class). There were two key areas of the course that were of great help to get us classroom-ready: 1) lesson planning assistance in the morning and 2) feedback sessions that followed the teaching practice. During the lesson planning guidance the teachers helped us develop an adequate lesson plan and were quite thorough in their attention to details of our content and classroom management technique, constantly asking “how are you going to do that?” do get us properly focused on the tasks. The feedback sessions provided great insights and gaves us a clear picture of what things we were doing right and wrong; the latter providing improvement areas to tackle during the following teaching practice.

I picked Oxford TEFL after a recommendation from a previous student, and I think I made the right decision. The course itself was intense…but it needs to be! There´s no better way of learning and improving your teaching without practice, and OH definitely recognize this. I found grammar to be the most challenging aspect of the course, and it felt like at times, I hadn´t been taught and didn´t quite understand what was included in the assignments. However, it´s the kind of thing that you just need to study yourself and your knowledge will improve over time. The pre-course task could have highlighted this aspect a bit more. Despite this criticism, I passed the course with a surprisingly good grade. This really made me feel like the hard work had paid off, and the support from the tutors was excellent. The facilities at Oxford House are outstanding, and I can´t recommend it more as a positive place to both teach and study.

Going through Oxford TEFL gave me much much more than a Trinity CERT TEFL Certificaiton! The course was fantastic and thourough. Having to do teacher training right of the bat allowed for much learning and growth throughout the course. The trainers are excellent and helpful in more ways than just TEFL related. The job assistance offered secured me a job before even finishing the course. I highly recommend to anyone interested in going through a TEFL training to move to Prague and go through Oxford TEFL!!!!

I did the Oxford TEFL course in Prague earlier this year, and it was such a great experience! I learned so much from the staff during input sessions and feedback from teaching practice. They were all very helpful with teaching and with finding work after the course (as well as visa help for Americans/non-EU students). I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone who wants to teach English abroad. It was a great experience and really prepares its students for teaching.

Oxford House Prague operates at a quality standard. I cannot say enough about how helpful the staff are in helping trainees develop their own teaching style and build solid teaching practices. I particularly appreciated the staff’s attention to team building and peer feedback. They helped me realize the treasure of a community ESL teachers are and how we can benefit from sharing knowledge.

Whether teaching becomes your career or not, studying at Oxford House influenced me personally and professionally by expanding my skills and helping me identify my strengths and weaknesses. The experience I’ve had and the knowledge I’ve gained is truly worth the time and costs of the program. If anyone is unsure about studying TESOL, I can surely say it is an unforgettable experience.
