Honestly, I have not seen a school like this one before. It literally felt like home; despite all the intense one month training.

The staff and tutors are hands-on and friendly while staying totally professional.

I will soon begin teaching Business English and Young Learners in Toulouse, France and I will miss the Barcelona team and my co-traineees.

I must say it was hard work indeed… but it was all worth it! The content of the course and the structure is very well thought. The teaching practice is definitely relevant and the tutors were great providing guidance and support. Also their feedback was fair and with great experience behind to help us perform better. Overall I am really satisfied with the quality of the course, the resources available in their premises: from books, games, computers, nice school and terraza, great location, etc. I highly recommend this institution, Oxford House, to obtain the TEFL Certificate.

To those who are still not sure where:

I am proud to have completed the Oxford House / Oxford TEFL Barcelona CertTEFL course successfully (August 2014)! Very (very, very) intense – is the bad part of it, but in return you get new life opportunities in just a one month’s time! Isn’t it fantastic on the other hand?! I couldn’t think this is possible at all, as I was new to teaching, till I’ve discovered courses like this exist, and the highly professional Oxford TEFL ELT trainers make miracles come true – you become a qualified and even an experienced English teacher in just four weeks!

Due to its intensity doing the Trinity Cert TESOL with Oxford TEFL is a wise choice as they reduce the study stress by providing excellent facilities and all the equipment with supplementary materials you may need (you don’t even need to have a laptop or buy any office supplies as other schools often require). Who else has a two-leveled garden with beautiful palm trees within their premises in the very center of a fancy touristic location like Barcelona? As well I wonder how all the computers and supplementary equipment like projectors and printers at Oxford House could always keep working!? I mean all computers that are everywhere around, even in the hallways – you will always have a place to work conveniently. Always available, always on-line and with all kinds of software to use. Good job! I find this being especially helpful for students on such an intensive course like the CertTEFL, when you can’t afford to lose precious time on technical issues. I couldn’t find a better school in terms of location and excellent facilities they provide for studies. Check out their intro videos as it’s exactly how it is in reality.

And outstanding admin support from helping to obtain a Spanish student residence permit (NIE) to finding a job upon passing the course makes it a no doubt where to go for studies – Oxford TEFL Barcelona! This course is worth the money and surpassed my best expectations.

I am writing this from the position of my internship which I am doing in Angamaly, Kerala. I chose to do the TESOL course here because I wanted an entirely different experience; I’ve been to Europe and India appealed to me very much.

From the moment I arrived it has been an incredible experience; I came without reservations about life in India, although some friends and family members voiced their doubts. I can put aside any concerns that you might have. I have met some incredible people (locals, students and teachers) who have extended their Indian hospitality and warmth without limit.

The course itself is incredibly comprehensive and the hands-on experience, as well as the opportunity to teach IELTS (unprecedented within Europe, I think) has elevated my understanding of teaching and grammar exponentially. The teachers are excellent, experienced, thorough and very supportive. The facilities and resources are brilliant.

The great thing about the course in Kerala is the opportunity to stay on to do the internship, which is when the teaching and learning really, really begins. Once more, the transition from TESOL student to teacher of students is well-managed and well-supported. My learning is continuing and I am glad to be able to do it in this environment and within the fabulous state of Kerala.

I cannot recommend the course enough.

I just completed my TEFL course at Oxford TEFL this past June. The course was very intensive and took up most of my time during the four weeks that I was enrolled in it but it was definitely worth it! All of the staff were very professional and very helpful throughout the four weeks. The teaching practice and the feedback sessions were extremely helpful to me as someone who had no teaching practice coming into the course. The facilities and resources at Oxford TEFL in Barcelona are excellent as well. The building is very modern and has a nice terrace out the back with areas for eating and chatting. In short, I would highly recommend the Oxford TEFL course to anyone who is thinking about doing it. While it will be a stressful four weeks of your life, it will also be an extremely formative and enlightening four weeks!

The course is really intensive and demands a full immersion in the process which is not an issue because you will find it interesting, enjoyable and extremely useful for your future job. You will learn what it feels like to be in the shoes of an unknown language student and that despite not being able to speak a word in the target language the students will still be able to understand the teacher and learn successfully. It helps a lot in the teaching practice because you stop distancing yourself from your students and prior to using any material or technique at the lesson you first try it on yourself and see what difficulties your students may encounter and how to overcome them making your lesson as motivating and effective as possible.

You will find that your students and you yourself can be the greatest resource to create the best language lesson where your students will be willing to speak and enjoy using the language in the classroom and you will feel satisfied to realize that now they are confident with the language you have taught them to use it outside the classroom. You will get acquainted with various teaching methods and techniques which will save you a lot of time while planning your lessons and rescue you in a tricky situation in the classroom. You will understand that this wide range of English textbooks is a good resource but they are not necessarily what YOUR students need and you will learn how to vary and adapt the materials for the needs of your students or even create your own ones. You will definitely improve your own language awareness and start to identify the difficulties of the language you may encounter teaching your students and how to cope with them teaching with pedagogical approach focusing on the use of the language and its main function i.e. communication.

I was honored to be taught by such great teacher trainers from OxfordTefl as David Young, Sinead Laffan, Sean Hayward and Adrian Marriot. Being highly professional and efficient they remain so human in the classroom that even being corrected it never feels like criticism , more like a great support of my senior and experienced friends. Overall I really enjoyed the course very much and would recommend anyone interested to go for it. I wish I could do it again)) But life goes on and now it is the time to practice everything I have learnt there! Being a teacher is a hard but gratifying job definitely worth the efforts you put into it. You find you are happy when you see and hear your students speaking the language confidently or they tell you how successfully they use it at work or in the daily life.

I recently completed the Cert. TESOL course in Barcelona after having done the online starter a few months ago. It was an intense but equally amazing four weeks! I think the starter course put me at an advantage because I was already familiar with some teaching theories and I had an idea of what to expect on the full course. That said though, nothing prepares you for standing up in front of a class of willing students on day two!

The course is well organised with great facilities (the new school location is fantastic!) and lots of resources for lesson planning. When they say intense, they mean it. After only three days I had taught two of my own classes and learnt a bit of a completely unknown language with the first assignment looming. Although at times it can be tough, it is manageable and the support from staff and your trainee colleagues gets you through. Day-to-day it’s so difficult not to have a laugh because the atmosphere is just great, despite the major workload!

The best part of it all though is the staff. The tutors are very knowledgeable and are always on hand to answer any questions or go over any ideas for your lessons/assignments. There is lots of extra support available as well e.g. career advice and how best to live and get around a new city.

I feel the course has given me the tools to become a great teacher. It’s easy to see why they have such a good reputation. I’ve not only learnt how to teach English but I’ve been able to discover a new city and make some great friendships in the process. Thanks Oxford TEFL, when’s the next flight to Barcelona?

Selecting Oxford TEFL was one of the best choices I have made for my career in international education.

I am beyond pleased with the experience that I had while studying for my TEFL Certification. The staff were very polite, respectful, intelligent, and capable of teaching in a way that allowed for creativity and growth of the students.

Oxford TEFL in Prague was a great learning experience and I learned every day of the course. I know that there are a lot of scams out there. However, Oxford TEFL was the real deal with an enthusiastic staff who sincerely wanted to pass on their knowledge and experience. It is a crash course so the material can come fast and heavy but they make it as manageable and fun as possible while still making sure that the quality remains high.

I would recommend it to anyone seeking certification to teach English abroad. Without question, every school as soon as we mentioned that we had certification from Oxford TEFL was ready to hire us with only a few formalities thereafter.

Warning: All those seeking easy, boring, and bland teachers – this place is not for you. All those seeking challenging, fun, and eccentric characters (read long haired Scotsman to fiery redheaded Celts) should apply here. You have been warned.

I elected the Oxford TEFL course in Prague after reading some great reviews, and it did not disappoint. Prague itself was a beautiful city with great (and cheap) food and drink.

The course was well structured with the teachers proving themselves to be very engaging, knowledgable and insightful. The feedback was spot on and very helpful, with a constant eye on helping you improve on your next lesson.

The unknown language classes were also very helpful. Other courses do not provide this, but it provides you with a lot of empathy for your students whilst showcasing some great teaching methods.

The course was a success and I am already preparing myself for my first interview for a job in Vietnam.

Overall, a fantastic course with some great teachers.
