I had a very positive learning experience with this course. I would recommend taking it before trying to apply to teaching jobs overseas.

Oxford seminars is an excellent certification. I took it face to face in Toronto, Canada. The Professor was knowledgeable. I liked the fact that he taught us to teach by demonstrating how to teach in the way he taught us. In other words. he was language knowledgeable, prepared, explained clearly, and exercised classroom management. Also, he had quite a few years of teaching experience teaching overseas himself, so you could tell that he knew what he was talking about so to speak. He kept us engaged at all times.

The program taught me all I needed to learn to start my journey as an EFL Instructor 12 years ago. I am still teaching.

Administratively speaking, those at the office are pleasant, respond to emails promptly and handle all matters professionally.

I spent a very long time comparing multiple companies trying to decide where to get my TEFL certification to start my teaching abroad journey. I ultimately decided on Oxford Seminars and was rewarded with an excellent and informative course. My professor was extremely informative, patient, kind, and encouraging. He took the time to break the information up into digestible sections, while assigning peer-teaching projects along the way to ensure we understood the material but also got to put it into practice. By the time the final project rolled around, I felt ready to teach. Granted, I have taught before, but there were a lot of aspects that I was completely unaware of until my course with Oxford Seminars that will be crucial to creating a successful classroom. Moving into the second part of what Oxford offers, the prep and placement.

Oxford conveniently has a healthy list of interview questions, both from what I might expect to be asked and what I too should ask my employer in turn. Tips for interview prepping and communication were also provided on the same online hub, so when it came time to interview, I felt adequately prepared.

I was very apprehensive of being taken advantage of and falling prey to one of the many horror stories that EFL teachers so often find themselves in. However it seems the recruiters are vetted into Oxford Seminar’s trusted companies. I was lucky enough to eventually have been connected with Madeline Moon with Teacher Tech and she could not have found a more perfect placement for me and my dog (a very rare and difficult obstacle indeed). Oxford Seminars continued to stay in regular contact with me, asking me how progress was going with each recruiter and interviews. When I received the offer from the school Madeline connected with I was skeptical because of how “too-good-to-be-true” it was. When I contacted Oxford about it, they informed me of their long standing relationship with Madeline and quelled my worries even going so far to say that this contract was indeed an amazing opportunity.

I postponed looking for a job abroad for a few months after I completed the course, but I believe it was less than a month from initiating the recruiting process, interviews, and to my current placement.

Thank you Oxford, thanks to you and Madeline, I’ll be living in South Korea and teaching by the new year.

The books were key.

I know some people left because they wish they had them.

I felt it as well but stuck it out.

If not hard cover, at least pdf.

I am missing the 120-Hour TEFL Course Handbook.

Zoom is an alright platform but another one would of been better.

Execellent course that really taught valuable life and career skills within the context of teaching. Created a great environment for learning and established a network to foster success. Career placement, access to materials, resume building, excellent instructors, and accomodating times are the receipie for success with this class.

I have had nothing but fantastic service and guidance from Oxford Seminars. Before choosing them, did quite a bit of searching for other TESOL/TEFL providers, watched various Youtube videos, and reached out to friends who I knew were certified TESOL teachers. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that paying a little bit more for the service of having lifetime job assistance was the best option for me. I decided to attend the information session which was immensely helpful and only cemented my decision to choose Oxford Seminars. This was right around the summer of 2020 and although everything had been moved online, Oxford Seminars online session ran smoothly, was comprehensive, and those who attended received a certain percent off their course (a fantastic deal!).

The actual course ran 3 weekends in a row and minus some time difference confusion (the instructors were in a different timezone than the rest of us and this caused some miscommunications the first day), the course ran smoothly and provided a relatively grounding base to work off of. The two instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and humoured all questions and concerns we threw their way regarding teaching, culture shock, and beginning a new job. Their feedback was timely and constructive but not harsh. They were supportive but also provided us with instructions on how to improve.

In the last week/session, we had to present to the whole class. While this was nerve-wracking, creating a lesson plan was easy and straightforward with the teachers’ guidance and feedback. I felt more confident after that session (based on my teachers’ feedback) that I could handle teaching in a classroom setting. Lastly, although the online component can be seen as daunting and scary, doing a lesson or two a day makes it fly by really quickly. The exam though hard was easier based on how much I studied for it.

After completing the “in-person” course and the online component, I took some time away from my teaching material and Oxford to finish my master’s degree. However, now in 2022, I decided it was time to finally go abroad to Korea and teach, allowing me the space to have a big girl job, spend more time in the country I will eventually get a Ph.D. about, and test out if teaching is actually the route in life I wish to pursue. Thus, I reached out to Oxford Seminars sometime in January of this year. They contacted me within a few days, and after a few emails back and forth, I was set with an advisor. He was and continues to be, so helpful, answering all my random worry questions, helping me with my resume and cover letter, and in general, providing me with the guidance I think we all need during such a major transition and change up in our lives. Although when I paid for the course I was worried about the quality of job assistance, this was definitely the BEST way to go. My other friends who are going through EPIK or other agencies themselves have been having a heck of a time and have not had the support that I have been able to access. When I was alerted by one friend of the service, her comment was that it was too expensive. However, after having to go through the process, she told me she would consider “upgrading” to never have to go through job searching alone again.

Overall, Oxford Seminars is an amazing service. My advisor has been kind and patient with me as I have made blunders and asked silly questions, and the teachers I had for the “in-person” component were straightforward with their feedback but greatly encouraging too. I have recommended Oxford Seminars to countless friends and will continue to sing their praises. They are truly fantastic service and worth every cent you pay. I could not imagine trying to job hunt on my own. Their teaching and their job assistance together truly make them the ultimate TESOL/TEFL teaching/provider platform. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone who asked. Thanks again!

I had fun while attending this course. The instructor was able to guide the students (candidates) to create their own lesson plan and teach the lesson. During the course, we were introduced to a lot of content about teaching ESL learners. I would definitely recommend this course to others.

I was certified to teach English through Oxford Seminars in 2019 and the process was very streamlined. The instructor was knowledgeable and experienced in both teaching English and the Oxford course.

However, the most advantageous aspect of Oxford Seminars, in my opinion, is how easy the job hunt was. I was connected with a Job Placement Advisor the day that I requested one. I was put in contact with a recruiter shortly there after and given multiple interviews, from which I could chose where was the best fit for me. Traveling abroad is an exciting, but daunting task. I had so much help along the way from visas to flights to interviews to housing. A very intimidating move became infinitely more accessible. Thank you Oxford Seminars for my first teaching adventure abroad and my soon-to-come second teaching adventure.

Very useful course. the instructor is exceptional. Although every lesson is lengthly, 9:00-5:00, the instructor did his best to accommodate our needs and kept us involved and engaged. The instructor was also an email or a message away. He was available for scheduling us in zoom meetings in between lessons to provide us additional aid.

I highly recommend this course to whoever wishes to teach English to non-English speakers. You will gain tremendous skills and knowledge
