The course was taught well and the instructor was great. Classes were fun and interactive. Furthermore, I appreciate the fact that they help you find a job and assist you throughout the process and continue to check in even after you start working. Job searching can be a daunting process but they show great care and assistance to all their graduates. Highly recommend.

Oxford Seminars was great- my instructor and classmates were so awesome and made the live part of the course fun and interesting! I was actually quite sad to part with them for the online part. As for the online part, however, that could definitely use lots of revamping. It was presented in a very bland and not stimulating way- such as no pictures or videos and just plain reading texts. The content was very useful- just the presentation was not engaging and a slog to get through.
The job placement service aspect was extremely helpful in how it helped me structure my resume and cover letter. Three people looked over them and provided me with valuable feedback on that. Also my job placement advisor is wonderful- very helpful with my questions and with reviewing contracts and all. It’s really nice how I can schedule meetings with him as often as I wish. All of the job interviews I’ve had were found on my own though and not through Oxford Seminars. It would be super valuable and useful if OS had a system or spreadsheet for people to track their job process (prospects, interviews and offers). I made my own but it could use some work.

It has been some time since I have completed my Oxford TESOL Course in Waterloo On. This course however wasn’t my first experience in my journey of teaching. But it surely was well above my expectations.
The way it was delivered by the instructor was unique and exceeded every single instructors trainings I have taken before.
All the participants had enough time and attention to be worked on and along for discovering the teacher inside each of them, to understand methods and approach models while teaching to speakers of other languages-other cultures.
Course materials are well extracted from real experiences and proven practices.
There is something to learn for life in every group teaching. There were quite a few for me to observe, absorb and digest in this course. I certainly recommend Oxford Seminars to beautiful minds who wants to be language teachers as well as my fellow language teacher colleagues.
There are many self learning tools for English language out there as well as for almost everything that you can think of. Figure out why are you needed to facilitate it for others. This is what this course is teaching you.

Despite some of the mediocre reviews on here, I really enjoyed the course with oxford seminars. My teacher (Sujoy) was really experienced, engaging and helpful, and the class was really fun. I learned so much about lesson planning and adapting to different ages or learning styles. I haven’t taken a job yet but the placement service is actually great, I was dubious about it at first and thought maybe they would just assign you to a bunch of random jobs but they actually emailed me personally back and forth for a while to find something that was a great fit in terms of what I wanted in length, countries, age, experience level, etc. My only complaints really are that the days are quite long (9 hours on zoom), it would be better spread out over more weekends at only 6 hours a day or something. There are definitely some things we didnt get a chance to cover or more practice time that would have been nice to have an extra weekend or two to get to but overall it was a good introduction to teaching and the english language, and made me feel more confident and ready to teach.

I completed the TEFL course and received my certification with Oxford Seminars in July of 2017. The in-class component of the program was informative and provided me with enough knowledge and skills to start my first journey of teaching aboard. The instructor was a former EFL teacher himself, therefore, it was a great source of personal-experience research. The ‘practice teaching’ component and subsequent feedback was rather brief but understandable, as the class size was rather large (about 20 people) and timing was limited.
Where I found Oxford Seminars really shined was their Job Placement service after receiving my certification. When I finally decided to make the big jump in November of 2017 and requested aid for a placement, my advisor (namely Rowan) assisted me every step of the way, including reviewing and editing my resume/cover letter, sending my application on my behalf to various agencies in accordance to my preferences. As such, I was connected to a great agency (Korean Horizons) and was placed to an amazing school in South Korea 2 months later. My advisor continued communications until I was successfully placed. I taught at the same school for 3 years (March 2018-March 2021) and had the most wonderful time there. Best yet, the Job Placement service is once again assisting me in my next journey.
I truly recommend this course and company for new teachers needing a solid place to start their teaching abroad journey.

Firstly, taking the TEFL course was the main reason I signed on in the first place. I viewed the placement service as a nice bonus but it didn’t really play into the cost of the course in the first place. The course itself was fine, presenting some great ideas for games, activities and ice breakers. The instructor was excellent and had spent a long time abroad and so could offer some good insight. I would say that it felt a tad unfair that so many students were taking the course without having been told that they would likely need a degree to find a job once they’d completed their certification, but it can certainly be argued that the onus is on prospective students to do such research ahead of time. In the end, I felt that the course gave me a good base from which to develop as well as some knowledge of what to expect while abroad, though it’s absolutely impossible to fully prepare for such a change.
As for the placement service, as I mentioned, I saw this as a bonus. In fact, I was surprised by the follow up they offered and found that they were an invaluable addition to my own search. This is a key point, though: don’t leave it all up to them; keep searching on your own. They’re there to help but not necessarily to hold your hand and do it all for you. That said, I found that all the agents I worked with were helpful and did their best to meet my demands, though I also did my best to keep these reasonable and realistic (another key piece of advice I can offer). I’ve done three years now, in three different schools, in two separate countries, and though Oxford didn’t always find me my contracts, they were always helpful throughout every search. And they’re in my corner again as I look for a fourth contract (though I also check boards myself every single day.
Anyway, if you’re looking for a good course and some solid help, it’s a good choice.

I paid for two courses through Oxford Seminars. I did well in both and enjoyed my instructor and my classmates. When it came time for them to help me find a job overseas however, nothing happened. They found me online jobs and this was waay before Covid19. I could easily have found those myself. Don’t waste your money. If you want to teach online, you don’t need these courses. If you want to teach overseas, get a CELTA.

I did not enjoy the 60 hour class seminar because of the instructor to whom we were assigned. I found her rather vague in her presentations of the course content. if she was bright and knowledgeable she, in my personal opinion, hid it well. The participants in the group were all quite nice and intelligent although, I believe that Oxford Seminars should require proof that all students working towards certification for their programs be themselves very proficient in the language they wish to teach overseas. There were one or two people in the group who did not have English as their first language and who were not really fluently bilingual. This became evident in the group assignments when certain topic, idioms and expressions had to be either pronounced or clarified for them. I am certain these students were certified nonetheless. Oxford Seminars is a business whose purpose is first and foremost to generate revenue for its owners. This is important to keep in mind.
The most positive thing that I can say about my experience is that I have acquired some strong grammar guidelines and excellent reference materials.
