Hello,
I am so glad I signed up with Ontesol.com. The course material was excellent and the feedback I received really helped me become a better instructor. I’ve been teaching business English in colleges around Vancouver for three years and taking this course has helped me become a much better teacher.
The most helpful part was learning about the communicative approach. For years I felt that rote learning was not the best method of teaching. Learning the communicative approach cemented my belief that using reality-based learning would enhance the learning process. I’ve made a few adjustments to the way I create lesson plans which have made my classroom a better environment for my students.
The only area I would suggest needs improvement is the Lesson Planning section. The book doesn’t do the process of creating lesson plans justice. I took me weeks to understand what was required. My instructor and I had to email several times before I was able to understand her expectations and requirements. Once I got it, I got it and the rest of the plans were easier to create.
The request for job interviews are already coming in despite only having finished the course. Best career decisions I’ve ever made..
Martin
