I had a very good experience with MyTEFL from start to finish. I had to get the TEFL with short notice in order to keep my current job, so I didn’t have much time to research before jumping in. I depended on reviews that I read on this website as well as some forums and youtube videos.
I would have to say that I agree with all of the positive reviews I have read in regards to the quality and pace of the content. I found it very interesting and relevant with absolutely no filler. I hate information that I don’t need or won’t use. This was straight to the point and is highly accessible to different learning types. I put my studies on hold temporarily and tackled this full time for about 3 weeks, which comes out to about 120 hours of work.
Importantly, I didn’t have to wait for a slideshow to time out or waste any time waiting for a timer. It was at my own pace and it’s nice to know that I can go back to this information if I ever need to. I have already been teaching English for over a year and whether I had ten times the amount of experience or fresh out of high school, this is a great course and I would recommend it to others.
I may be biased, but the only improvement I would consider is the ability to apply one’s skills and demonstrate one’s ability to teach English. I’m not sure how this would be possible for an online course, but thought I would mention it because it’s the only place I docked a star.
