I had been thinking about completing my TEFL certification for a while. I thought it would be far to expensive and time consuming. I could not have been more wrong. I found MyTEFL popped up quite often in my research and decided to check it out. With the sale it was even more affordable. I have a full time job so the all online option worked best for me. I loved that I could work at my own pace. I’ve been a teacher and the material does a great job trying to prepare you for a real classroom/students/clients. I flew through my assignments and completed my certification. They have so many resources available for life! I’d highly recommend MyTEFL if you are interested in teaching English. The certification is for life. Why not have this tool at your disposal. Give yourself options.

As a US certified teacher, I found the myTEFL course after an extensive online search. The course is self-paced and I was able to devote about an hour a day to it, finishing in about 3 weeks. I opted for the 140 hour course because it includes information about teaching English online. I plan on using the new knowledge to teach in Portugal in the next few months. I’m also confident that I can prepare lessons for online English courses, should I choose that route of teaching.

The certification course was easy to follow and is accessible to teachers with or without previous teaching or tutoring experience. I did find myself using my knowledge of teaching reading and writing to Elementary students throughout the modules. The modules give great examples, and the library is full of great resources! Highly recommend MyTEFL!

MyTEFL was recommended to me by an acquaintance who also took the course and used it to teach English in South Korea. I found the course to be very insightful, and it introduced me to ideas about effective teaching that I had never thought of before. The course checks comprehension frequently with quizzes after each reading module, and there are tutors and additional resources available to ensure your success. Additionally, it is nice that you can work at your own pace to complete the course based on your schedule. After completion of the course, I requested assistance with writing a CV and was promptly provided example CVs with notes. I will continue to utilize the resources that MyTEFL has available to me for job placement and lesson plan ideas once I secure a job. Thank you MyTEFL for helping me make my dream of teaching English into a reality!

I used MyTEFL to receive my certification in hopes that I would able to travel and teach. This site made it so easy to go through all the information I needed in order to not just be competent in teaching English, but to go above and beyond for future students. It was easy to pace myself and I never felt rushed, especially with working a full time job.

Thanks MyTEFL!

Although I initially had doubts about this program, I ultimately decided to give it a chance due to its reasonable price point. To my delight, MyTEFL provided a comprehensive course that allowed me to study at my own pace. I was able to leverage the relevant knowledge I already possessed while also acquiring a significant amount of new information. It was truly a fantastic experience that not only helped me refresh my prior knowledge but also taught me a great deal more.

Loved using myTEFL! I love how I can go at my own pace and everything’s online. I was able to finish within a couple of weeks. The material was relevant to my current job as an ALT in Japan. I am able to apply what I learned right away to my lesson planning. I definitely recommend this course to anyone trying to go for their TEFL certificate!

It took me a while to commit to taking a TEFL course, mostly due to time and cost, but life happened and I had to buckle down and find an option. I google-searched for the right one and everything I saw was just ridiculously expensive and the website graphics looked shady. I decided to hop on Youtube and look for people in my targetted field to find out which ones they took. I hear the mention of MyTEFL so I looked them up and saw a wonderful site design. Visually, I was drawn in, but the next thing I saw made me go back to Google to make sure it was legit. The cost of the course had a huge discount going on. I was leery at first, but I decided to invest and man am I glad I did. The course content was more in-depth than I could imagine. It was exposing me to topics I didn’t even know existed. As a native English speaker, there are things our schools don’t bother teaching us because it’s already been a part of our daily lives since we were young. We’ve naturally mastered it, but someone learning English for the first time would need to learn from scratch, all the ins and outs. After taking the MyTEFL course, I now have a greater appreciation for the people who managed to learn this overly complicated language and the teachers out there who had the patience and skill to teach them. I may not be able to retain everything right away, but the bonus of this program is that I can come back anytime and refresh my understanding. Even with the discount, it was still a lot to commit to, but what you get in return is nothing short of valuable and enriching. I feel confident I can get out there and make a difference in someone’s life.

I completed my 120 hour online TEFL certification with MyTEFL last summer and was more than happy with my results. I took some time to finish other professional endeavours before applying abroad this year. I’ve secured a position in China and feel that the TEFL certificate definitely gives you some credibility (not to mention confidence) during the application process. I’ll list off some of my pros and cons about my experience:

pros:

-Easy-to-follow lessons that had structure, clear explanations, and logical flow. Can’t stress enough how straightforward everything was.

-Regular comprehension quizzes integrated into the course to make sure you understand the material

-Fairly well connected personnel: When I finished the course, I was provided with an agent who gave the option of connecting me with recruiters in China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Costa Rica, Spain, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Ultimately, I didn’t go through with the process at the time because of unrelated factors but I felt reassured to have a point of contact from the get-go.

-Flexible: I had complete control over when I completed the modules

-Maybe I flew through things but I’d estimate it took me about 40-50 hours to complete the whole course rather than 120

-Great support staff: Any time I contacted MyTEFL, the agents I spoke to were warm and responsive

cons:

-Limited opportunity for practicing teaching yourself. I know it’s not practical to get real students or a real human being to teach for every person who takes this course. I might recommend the course include some short video assignments where you have to record yourself teaching a simple concept. It would definitely be uncomfortable but leaving your comfort zone is a requirement for learning anything new and could be beneficial

cost: $260.02 CAD (tax included, as of May 2022, prices may have changed when you’re reading this)

Overall thoughts: Excellent experience and 100% recommend. They know what they’re doing and I’ve just secured a job teaching in China with this certification.

Having no teaching experience but wanting to teach English abroad in Korea, I decided to take the 120-hour TEFL online comprehensive program with myTEFL and it was a decision I definitely don’t regret! I liked that the course was self-paced so I could fit it around my full-time work schedule. The content itself was also extremely useful. It taught me how to create effective lesson plans and review the rules of the English language such as grammar and tense but more importantly how to teach them to someone whose first language isn’t English. A tutor was available to chat to if I had any questions and even after completing the course, I now have access to the resources in their library which I can always look back to for help. I now feel ready to take the next step in finding a teaching position in Korea!

I had been tossing around the idea of teaching abroad for years but I really decided that this year I wanted to put my dream into action. The pandemic had restrained me from pursing a TEFL course, but I had also struggled to find a program that suited my schedule and my budget. However, right when I found mytefl, I was intrigued. I spoke with someone on the phone who answered all my questions about the course and took the time to explain his experience teaching in Asia for five years! After our inspiring conversation I signed up and jumped right into the class. I loved that I could hop online and complete modules when I had a few hours here and there throughout my week. I was amazed how quickly I was taking notes and absorbing the information. I haven’t taken a class in a few years so I was not sure how I was going to approach it. I was happily surprised how motivated I was and how the class made me want to reach my goal. I liked how everything was broken down into clear and concise language that positively changed my perspective of the classroom. With a full time job I was still able to complete the class in 8 weeks. I am now researching different teaching opportunities and am excited to see what doors are opened now that I am a part of this community!
