My background Includes studying abroad in France as part of my teacher prep program to achieve U.S. teaching credentials in French. I personally experienced learning a foreign language from native speakers as well as what it is like to be a foreigner and try to learn language and culture very different from your own native country. I also spent 30+ years working in a corporate training function. I found the TEFL course by MyTEFL to be spot on with all the best practices in teaching that I learned and employed over the years. There are many helpful resources cited that I will refer to frequently. Highly recommend this course and certification.

My course with MyTEFL was fantastic! It was extremely thorough, well-paced, and contained a lot of valuable information. One of the best things about this course is that it provides real examples of situations and lesson/grammar items that can really aid in understanding the content and the best methods of teaching the material. Overall, I’m really happy with this course, and I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone.

An excellent source for those who aspire to become english tutors and have an additional income. It is a very well structured course which one can easily follow and complete in the given time frame. Also when required the staff are very willing to assist and help with your queries. I would recommend myTEFL to anyone anytime.

When I first started my TEFL course, I was enrolled full time as a student. Due to personal interferences, I was not able to complete the course on my first go around. However, myTEFL made it easy to jump back in; they even gave me an extension discount!

I found that the course itself was comprehensive when it comes to classroom temperament, grammar instructing, course content, and so much more. It works hard to make sure that teachers are aware of the differences in their students and are conscientious of teaching with inclusive methods and mannerisms. It also includes so many different examples of lessons and situations one may encounter in the classroom.

What I really think that myTEFL went above and beyond with was the customer service. When I had a technical issue with one submission, they were quick to respond and gave me encouragement to complete the course — totally unexpected, but genuinely thoughtful. I highly recommend myTEFL if you’re looking for a 120-hr course to get your TEFL certification!

I have been teaching Spanish for many years and, recently, I was also giving some English lessons. It was mostly for this reason that I felt I was lacking a specific course for teaching English and, after some research, I decided to take the one offered by MyTEFL. Luckily, I found discounts easily available online, making the price more acceptable. A small piece of advice: once you enroll and pay, the time starts counting, so be sure first you’ll have time for the course.

It turned out that a lot of the content was familiar to me from my experience as a language teacher. However, it was still very positive to read all those reflections and guidance, written and arranged in chapters by somebody else. It showed me what I was already doing well and what I could improve in my lessons. What I mean is that the course is useful per se, even if you teach other languages. Of course, it also includes specific information about teaching English grammar.

I found the last part about online teaching especially useful (I got the 140-hour-course), because I didn’t know about many of the platforms, and it’s really convenient to have all this information together in one place. In my case, I’m not sure yet if I’ll keep on teaching English this year. Mainly, I took the course because I was interested in it and I had a few freer weeks this last summer. If it so happens that I need it in the future, I already have it. I must say as well that this certificate is way more useful if you own a passport from an English-speaking country (which is not my case): if so, you have many job opportunities.

Another aspect that appealed to me was the fact that I can access the contents after having completed the course. For comparison, in the past, I took a few courses for teachers of Spanish, and it was a big downside that, shortly after they were over, the contents became invisible to me. I really appreciate getting this extra value here for a similar price.

I must say I was a bit surprised about the course being all text. I thought there would be some audio activities or some way of checking our level of English (well, there are a few audio files, to be honest). On second thought, I guess that if you don’t know English well enough it won’t cross your mind to take such a course in the first place.

All in all, I’m very happy with this course.

I just recently finished my TEFL course and am now able to move on to the next step in my teaching career! As I have not had any concrete teaching before, I was always nervous about my first day in class. However, through the myTEFL course I not only learned all the inner workings of TEFL and why it is important, but how to be the best teacher I can be in any classroom setting. I really enjoyed this course. It was well-thought out and well designed, covering a lot of different topics from classroom management to student motivation to specific grammar rules I’d long forgotten from my own school days.

I would have liked more projects/opportunities to practice what I’ve learned, but that’s what “newbie teacher” status is for 🙂

I ESPECIALLY appreciated how open and communicative the team is, though. Before registering I had a question about where they offer assistance, and they got back to me within a few hours – when I reached out asking something else later in the series, they got back to me within a day. The program is self-paced, and I honestly expected some kind of 3-5 business days kind of window, so the responsiveness was above and beyond in my book. On top of that, the resources are beyond compare.

I would absolutely recommend mytefl for anyone wondering if this might be a good fit for them – I can’t speak highly enough about the program or the company.

I have truly enjoyed this course, and the tips and skills it has given me to better help teach my students. A strength of this course is the information and personal coursework, or going through basic grammar and teaching techniques. It also gave me incredible resources to work in lesson planning. Something I would like to see more, would be projects, video recordings of classes, or assignments. Overall though, I recommend the course to be a start in thinking about English teaching!
