I was thrilled to undertake MyTEFL’s teaching certification course. In the past I had considered getting certified, but was overwhelmed with the choices and uncertain which would be the most advantageous, professional, legitimate and worthwhile. MyTEFL turned out to be the one! A friend had just done the course and recommended it. The course is very well-designed and well-written, and easy to undertake bit by bit whenever you have free time. There are tons of resources available to guide you and a person to chat with online whenever you have questions. The job opportunities part of the website is also extremely helpful. Not least of all the course is incredibly affordable. This was another thing that stopped me in the past, the thought of investing a few thousand dollars, which I was never prepared to do. But MyTEFL was just a few hundred dollars, due I imagine to deflation of costs and growing demand, since the quality is excellent and it seems to me I’ve gotten more than I paid for. I’ve just completed my certification and have already applied for a teaching position. Feeling confident and optimistic. A++

The course is in-depth, covering every aspect of teaching needed for the physical and online classroom. The information is practical, organized and up-to-date.

I came across a lot of information that solidified my knowledge. I also came across valuable information that I had either forgotten or didn’t know. They had some good deals at the time I was considering a TEFL course, which enabled me to enroll in the 140 hour course, instead of the 120 hour course. I am very happy I was able to do this.

Their well organized modules are packed with real-life examples and at the end of each module is a mini exam to help you apply what you have studied.

Another great bonus is that you have access to a tutor via email, which I found very helpful. It enabled me to ask a variety of questions or just pass on some comments or observations. The tutor was quick to reply and always willing to help with advice, links, or additional resources.

This course was a blessing. I am truly thankful for MyTEFL.

I was simply lucky and grateful to have taken this course. I found it to be highly relevant with today’s trend in online teaching. Not only does it enhance my teaching skills,

but also it introduced me to practical approaches to improve student engagement. It was very immersive, interesting and practical, The course was meant to impart valuable information which gives you the chance to review while taking the quiz at the same time. The library and the downloadable lesson plan materials are so handy. I have been teaching before and thought I was already good at my craft. When I took the TEFL course I didn’t realize it would make me a better and smarter ESL teacher. I am excited to handle ESL classes again, this course gave more confidence. Highly recommended.

MyTEFL 120 hour course was great! I was able to manage my time effectively, and with the consistent quizzes to test my knowledge helped improve my understanding of certain concepts. There were lessons focusing on aspects of the classroom that I had never considered important, such as the position of the desks in relation to a certain class activity. Sometimes I required clarification on a few of the questions as I felt there were multiple answers, and the tutors were always very helpful. It was a great course overall!

I decided to go with myTEFL after reading such positive reviews about it throughout the EFL community! Several months after receiving my 120hr TEFL certificate, I stand by my decision to get my certificate with this organization. The course content is organized in a practical way and all content builds on top of each other. As I moved from section to section, I was able to recall information that I had learned in previous sections. One thing I valued about this course is that in certain sections, topics would be briefly described and it would be mentioned that they would be delved into deeper in Chapter 3 for example. This way, I could keep my eyes peeled for when it came up again. Practice Teaching and Instructor Competency do not apply to this course because it is all online (you move through the course at your own pace without anyone teaching you). However, there are tutors and online assistance available.

One thing that I found frustrating was the quizzes/tests/assessments. It seemed that sometimes there were answer choices that were a little too similar or that weren’t necessarily a part of the section we were being quizzed on. There was no additional feedback on the quizzes meaning that I would only be told what the correct answer was, not why I was wrong. In the future, I would love to see myTEFL add this to their quizzes. I believe this would make the course even more valuable! I will say that the quizzes/tests/assessments were brief and simple for the most part! Most of the answers could be found by paying attention during the section (and nothing stops you from looking through each section while you take the quiz). The creators of the course want you to succeed, which I love!

An aspect of the course that I loved is the lifetime job assistance!! Can you believe that! Many of the TEFL courses that I found only provide job assistance for a year after you take the course but myTEFL appreciates their users so much that they’re willing to help indefinitely. This is a major perk and I definitely recommend this course for anyone looking to build a career in the TEFL industry.

Another helpful aspect of the course was the Resource Library. This library is full of PDFs of lesson plan examples, games and activities, and charts that you can use to better understand your role in the classroom as well as help your students.

This is the course for you if you’re looking for a simple, practical, and helpful TEFL course!

This course was great! All the information was very clearly presented, the classes were very balanced topically, and the course utilized helpful and relevant examples to illustrate points more clearly. It covers everything from grammar to how to set up and run a classroom and even some career advice for those just getting started. All in all, I would highly recommend this course.

My experience taking the 120 hour TEFL course was enjoyable. I felt that I was well informed on what topics regarding the English language need to be taught to students. I liked how you can pace yourself on how many modules and it’s sections to complete based on your schedule. One positive thing about taking this course was how laid out the course content was and the diagrams or practical scenarios of when to use certain terms and concepts. The only improvement I would make is to add dialogue that would include an interaction between a student and teacher in how a teacher should lead a class into a topic and how to reengage students when covering the topic on discipline. I have briefly taught English before few years ago in Taiwan as a student teacher volunteer with a few other students teachers I was paired with so I have experienced being in a classroom teaching and engaging students. I only taught basic vocab on everyday topics like food, weather and entertainment. I am glad to be exposed to what advanced topics to introduce to students since I have never taught grammar or how to write an essay to students. I am looking forward to working as a TEFL teacher online which is my goal for taking the 120 hour course.

After a quick Google search I came across myTEFL. I was initially impressed by their positive reviews and easy to navigate website. The 120 Hour Comprehensive course was informative, well-organized, and covered all the right topics. The myTEFL team was always quick to respond to emails and answered any questions I had. The course also provides additional materials and resources which I will definitely use in the future!

For those looking to teach EFL, I highly recommend taking this course. At first I was hesitant to take a course for TEFL, as I did linguistics in school and had a few tutoring jobs prior, thinking that may be good enough. But after starting this course I knew it was the right choice for me, and that I would benefit greatly. It gives in depth teaching guidance in all areas, and lots of examples and references for you to use. I learned many new things about classroom environments, and now feel confident that I could teach English to a variety of different students and classrooms, wherever I may go. I have not yet tried out the job assistance aspect of myTEFL, but I am sure that if it’s even half as good as the course, it’ll be worthwhile. Thanks for the great opportunity!
