I had a wonderful experience with myTEFL! The 120-hour course is packed with useful and relevant information, that can be easily studied and then used in practice. I learned so much, and am so excited to embark on a teaching journey with all the lessons I learned in this course! This program has great structure, the content for each module is clearly laid out, and there are tons of quizzes for practice which makes learning the information so much easier!

MyTEFL was an enjoyable and straightforward course. The classes were well organized by chapters and the course outline and expectations were clear and fair. I greatly enjoyed the flexibility and self-direction of the online delivery which worked perfectly with my schedule. The concepts, key issues, and lesson planning involved in teaching English as a foreign language were comprehensive and I feel that I have a strong understanding of what to expect in a class and how to prepare for most everything. Of course nothing can replace in-person experience and feedback, but for an online certificate MyTEFL is a great option for those looking to teach abroad.

I enjoyed taking the 140 hours online tefl course with MyTefl.com because it was straight-forward and well made. The material was comprehensive and I liked being quizzed often and, the grading system. I had a perfect overview of the ESL teacher’s responsibilities as well as in-depth training topic by topic, including teaching online. I liked being able to do the course on my own time.

Finally, I signed a work contract within a month after completing my certificate.

I quite enjoyed the myTefl course and all the information it provided on teaching, as well as addressing potential cultural differences in a classroom. The course was well structured and easy to follow on a chapter by chapter basis. I do wish that the tests logged in answers a bit more accurately since I noticed that sometimes I would have to double check my answers to make sure the multiple choice answer I originally chose had not moved/changed while I was clicking through the questions. Thanks for an overall great experience, looking forward to my teaching adventures!!!!

myTEFL offers a comprehensive and enjoyable course leading to the 120 hour TEFL certification. The Units are well laid out and easy to follow while validating the retention of the material through frequent quizzes. The course is conveniently self-guided and allows for relatively good flexibility in fitting most schedules. The web-based course is supported by responsive counselors through the chat function and I did not experience any technical difficulties or loss of course progress as I have in other online programs. Keep up the good work!

Having been an English teacher since 1994, TEFL was very thorough in giving the basics on how to teach students from other countries. I found the online resources very useful and the explanations of cultural differences very informative. It was interesting studying on how to teach the English language when it is not one’s first language; the approach is different from the way we teach English here in the United States, meaning the scope and sequence (order of curriculum) is different. TEFL provided explicit examples of the different types of textbooks, classroom situations, online platforms, and a variety of work situations. There were times, however, that some of the questions were ambiguous. However, if you are not an overly analytical person, you would probably be fine. 🙂 I do think having the option of a second quiz would be good especially since some of the quizzes only had 4 or 5 questions. Because I have taught ELL students in school as well as our two daughters, who were adopted from China (at preschool age), I would not use the Phonics Chart that was presented in the phonics section as it was just too sophisticated and more applicable for a linguistic major. Because I work with dyslexic children and those who struggle with literacy and I am certified with IDA/IMSLEC for Orton-Gillingham (OG), I would use an OG grapheme/phoneme chart as well as this OG approach, which is cumulative, explicit, and systematic when teach TEFL students. Overall, I still felt like this program was well rounded, shared a plethora of information that one would need in teaching English overseas or online, and would even be a good introductory course to someone who is thinking about minoring in ELL/TESOL/TESL in college.

The 140-Hour Master TEFL course was in depth, comprehensive and invaluable to what will be my next step in life. Teaching has always been a significant interest of mine as is seeing the world. As COVID-19 has forced us to stay in place, I focused this time to dive into and complete the 140-Hour Master TEFL course. What I gained from this course was essential as I prepare to embark on teaching English abroad. If inside you there exists a yearning to teach, travel and experience the world, this course and certification is an excellent first step is pursuing that call.

The course for online English teaching was more than I expected. It was easy to use and support from the company was always timely. I haven’t use the employment opportunities yet but based on my conversations with team members, I’m positive that job placement will not be an issue. Highly recommend!
