Really appreciate the effort ITTT made to let me advance more in my English career.

I took online course.

The content is concise and accurate. I like the course structure part best. ESA is applicable to a lot of situations and thus helps me practice teaching in a structural way.

After completed my 120 hours TEFL, I encountered an address problem. Despite of the time difference, I received my reply very fast. Problem was also solved. So the feedback part is also excellent.

The last thing is I actually didn’t expect there being a job service. Naturally, this part surprised me and is excellent. Many to explore, maybe I can also make friends there. : D

Plus, they have a lot of resources. At least I have to use much time to make them alive.

Thanks ITTT for being such a profession one.

Since the latter part of 2017 I have been planning on taking this course. Needless to say, it wasn’t until July of this year that was able to enrol and I am happy I did. I was truly impressed by the quality of the material presented. I benefited from some great information. I thought the videos lessons especially were extremely helpful. They helped in making the information easier to grasp. As I went through each unit I was happy to learn different teaching methodologies that I have since implement in my own lessons. Maybe the most difficult yet beneficial unit for me was Unit 13: Teaching Pronunciation and Phonology.

As mentioned before the video lessons were pretty useful. What would be even better is having an actual demo lesson from an experience EFL teacher especially for Unit 7: Teaching New Language and Unit 19: Teaching Special Groups. This I believe would give added quality to the course and would be quite beneficial to inexperienced teachers enrolled in the course. I can recall watching an English comedy drama, Mind Your Language. In this drama the teacher had a multilingual class of adult students from various nationalities. He had a daily challenge maintaining discipline as the students would frequently offend their classmates with their comments.

Another area for consideration relates to the video lessons in unit 10. I was unable to pinpoint a major improvement between the teachings of both lessons. Certainly the second lesson was more effective. However, I believe that there could be adjustments made to both the Engage and Activate phase of the lesson to make it a more effective lesson.

Thank you very much. It was a real pleasure taking this course.

Hello everyone,

I want to thank you for this amazing course, I really learned alot, and it’s so practical and so easy to make any teacher, beginner or experienced understand how the lesson could be more effective by using some instractions . I think also that the ESA is an amazing way to teach anything and not only english language.

Thank you ITTT staff and everyone involved in the whole system. Your quality way of providing competent English teaching to English teachers worldwide is commendable. I personally benefited a lot when doing the course. I discovered a new way of approaching English language and how to use it as well as how to teach especially the phonetics. It was all new for me and added more interest to do more. I recommend all teachers involved in teaching English wherever they are to undertake this course so that students learning English would develop interest and get quality language applicable for use in all fields be it business or class.

At first, I thought it would be hard since I am not an English major but my job as an online English tutor requires me to have a TESOL certificate. I’ve been planning to take their online course of 120-hour for 2 years but it was only this May 2019 that I was able to enroll. It was worth the money. By July 30, I was able to finish every unit and submit the summative task. I learned so much with ITTT. I felt so happy when I received an email on July 31 that my submitted summative task met the requirements. I am very excited to receive my certificate. Proud ITTT’s TESOL graduate here!

I will be reviewing all of the units in order.

Unit 1 Teachers and Learners

This unit was very good in providing sufficient information on the role of the teacher. The task sheet also helps enforce the learners to apply what they have learned before taking the test.

Unit 2 Parts of Speech

This unit was not difficult for someone who is strong in grammar. However, I read reviews about this section from other students online and it was difficult for students who are weak in grammar, and also had little experience with teaching it. Learning about the parts of speech did not help the Learner (soon to be TEFL teacher) teach the material. I know that none of the methods have been mentioned so far, but what about making a video with an experienced TEFL teacher- teaching the parts of speech. This will give the Learner an idea of how to teach the parts of speech as well as learning and strengthening grammar points from the video itself.

Teaching grammar is so important and honestly speaking some English student learners are better in grammar than their TEFL teacher. Simply because those students are drilled with grammar since elementary and middle school. What makes a difference is teaching grammar from a different perspective. The perspective of letting the students learn in an enjoyable way (iTTT method) instead of being drilled to memorize. Hence, the video can be focused on teaching grammar in an enjoyable way with the intention of applicable grammar instead of drilled grammar.

Unit 3 Theories, Methods and Techniques

This unit was very helpful with all the resourceful content, methods, input, etc…

Perhaps, the video about teaching grammar could be inserted after this unit.

Unit 4 Present Tenses

Great information.

Unit 5 Managing Classes

How can you make your instructions effective? (page 10)

For this section it would of been great if there was an example, or common mistakes to glean from. Not just a list of what to do.

Also, it would have be helpful to have a complex idea/term presented and then having a teacher showing how to simplify it for beginner learners. This will give an idea of how much a teacher needs to break down a concept for the beginner learner. Some teachers think their teaching is as easy as it gets, and may not realize its still actually difficult for their students. Yes, a teacher will see that their students do not understand when they present the material. But I believe in order to improve the effectiveness of this course, truly showing how a teacher can break these barriers before standing in a classroom is extremely vital. I believe that a teacher does not have the right to be mediocre.

Unit 6 Past Tenses

Great information.

Unit 7 Teaching New Language

I felt a video was necessary for this unit.

Not only is observatory skills needed, but I believe actually applying it before standing in the classroom is important. Thus, as learners we should actually make a video teaching a lesson using the ESA or boomerang method and submit it as a test.

Unit 8 Future Tenses

Great information.

Unit 9 Lesson Planning

Thorough information

Unit 10 Video Lessons

This video definitely needs to be updated. The supposedly “good teaching video” definitely needs to be clear. When taking the test after watching this video I was confused on what he did exactly because it seemed as if he did a couple of things and I just had to pick the better answer.

Due to time, I am not able to finish the rest of the review for the other lessons.

In conclusion, I believe new updated videos should be added to help the teacher. A chance for the learner to apply and get feedback on a teaching method of an actual lesson. Of course, this may cost more money but as a teacher I believe it would be worth the extra money. Also, updated references. Some of the online resources were invalid. I did enjoy the course. but PLEASE PLEASE update. Thank you.

I have just completed my 120 hour On Line Course , which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have been out of the education system for over 40 years and was a bit rusty on the language, but the course refreshed and taught me a whole lot. The course not only covers the English language grammar etc. but also how to teach , lesson planning and dealing with problems in the classroom . I found it very informative and hope to be starting my On Line teaching career as soon as i can .

I am happy that I have take the test. I believe that I will become a better teacher. This exam provided me a great overview in many ways. How to teach grammar, new vocabulary. I have also gained many interesting different teaching ways and techniques which I would never think I might use without the TEFL course. Thank you very much. I will probably take more tests in the future!

I’ve just finished the 120-hour TEFL course without a tutor, and I’d love to share my experience in order to help others with their decision. The content was well-structured and covered all the topics I wanted to know about. Also, it was quite interesting to read. Tests weren’t difficult, but still, some of the questions made me scratch my head. The support team was very polite, friendly and fast. It was a real pleasure to pass this course.
