I just completed the first of three courses for the Masters’ Program. I have very little experience with online courses, don’t think I received very clear direction for my final task. Also subsequent emails about how to proceed with the next course have stated that I cannot start the next course without completing the first course, but a previous email stated that I have completed this course already. I was also directed to a website to print my certificate, but was not given the certificate number I needed to enter. Currently I am feeling a little frustrated with this program.

Fantastic support from the beginning of inquiring and then signing up for the course.

The course content of the online TEFL course is very apt and is split into informative units with the task based questions at the end to check understanding and also the resources provided are excellent.

I enjoyed this online course. It was easy to pace out. The lessons are packed with information but still a reasonably easy read. I referred to the lessons during the tests. It gives you some self awareness, tips and perspective to go on that is essential to success in the classroom.

useless course..don’t apply for this, if you do don’t take the option with tutor and videos as you will pay more money and receive the same info in videos as written material..don’t take the extra 50-hour course as it contains absolutely nothing..waste of money waste of time…useless

I completed the 120 hour TEFL/TESOL Course (without a tutor). It was very informative about teaching English in a foreign country. Some modules focused on grammar while others focused on teaching strategies, resources, and scenarios which one can expect when teaching abroad.

I really appreciated learning how to create lesson plans. The course contained lots of information on how to structure lessons and how to incorporate fun activities into them.

I feel much more confident about teaching English because of the skills I’ve acquired from completing this course. Moreover, my brand new certificate helped me to land a job overseas really quickly!

The course covers the key grammar elements for teaching English as a foreign language, and is a good aid for organizing lessons.

Feedback is excellent, any questions were rapidly answered. I submitted a lesson plan half way through the course and received valuable feedback from the tutor.

Highly recommend it.

I completed the 120 hour no assistance course. Wasn’t that impressed.

Some lessons contained filler and some were extremely short, barely enough info to fill a pamphlet. Some lessons were about 15 screens long but they were covering English tenses and these subjects needed the extra just for a basic explanation. I felt there weren’t enough examples especially in the more complex lessons.

The number of questions at the end of each unit ranged from 10 – 20. In many cases there were 4 sometimes 5 questions on a particular item where the answers were abcd or adcb or acdb. None of them were aace or ccbb. So if you got one wrong you automatically got 2 wrong. Some questions harked back to previous lessons.

There are only 2 videos provided in this course, used to answer questions in units 10 and 11. I didn’t use any guidance, practice teaching and I don’t need the job assistance but you can’t submit your review unless you give these items a score so I just gave them fair. Replies to questions were answered quickly. There don’t appear to be a huge number of resources for fledgling teachers.

You are only taught a single teaching method. It utilises 3 phases, Engage, Study, and Activate. There is no mention of newer methods such as class/lesson flipping or gamification. Some of the material seems a little dated.

Finally, a pass of only 75% is needed. You get exactly the same certificate for a 95% pass as you would for a 75% pass so there is no need to bust your ass if you just want the certificate. There apparently is an accompanying letter which will assign a grade of A, B or C automatically. I asked for my % to be put on my certificate or covering letter but the reponse was that it wasn’t something they offered. Certificates and letters are printed automatically.I couldn’t even get a 2 line letter on their letterhead to say what score I actually got instead of just A B C.

In summary they deliver exactly what they say and nothing more. The course could be completed with a bit of effort in 3-4 weeks, less for some people. Ask for a sample lesson before you commit to the course.I’d recommend the course if you just want a certificate as soon as possible otherwise it’s 50-50 from me. You can get a free short course if you leave a video review after completion. I elected not to do this.

I completed the 120 Hr TESOL course and I loved this course from the beginning because of the quality of the content.

I have given some classes before and I noticed that lessons have been created by really experienced people in the industry.

Lessons are easy to understand and full of examples and resources.

I also finished the CTBE (course in teaching business English) and the CTEYL (course in teaching English to young learners) of 50 hours each, completing a total of 220 Hrs, which has given me a really strong image in my CV.

I really recommend this courses, it’s a great balance between quality and price.

I’m already working and enjoying every day of work.

I did the online version which I would recommend if you do not have an official Tefle learning center near you. Though if you happen to have a learning center near you, I would recommend doing that instead. The online course gave very good directions on what to do and the course learning was high quality. The benefits I would find in doing it at an actual center vs online is hands on experience. All in all I would highly recommend it.
