I have been very pleased with my experience using Global-English. The course work was neither unreasonably hard nor irresponsibly easy. I definitely learned much and am still learning as I continue taking classes now that I have finished the 120 hour TEFL course. I live in the US and was concerned about how effectively and timely the tutoring and feedback would work with the time difference. However, I was very pleased with the prompt responses I received from my tutor and from numerous other staff members when I inteacted with them.

I was particularlly impressed with the content of the responses I received. They were thoughtful, very helpful, and clearly communicated from a posture of genuine concern for my needs and my personal success. Early on I felt that the Global-English team had become new friends and felt very comfortable addressing any concerns or questions I had regardless of the length of the conversation or the frequency of my communications to them along the line. I always knew I would be treated with care, concern, respect, and patience and that my comments, questions, or concerns would be well received.

I definitely would recommend Global-English for anyone seeking any of the courses they offer. Once I finish my other course(s) I will take advantage of their assistance in seeking teaching opportunities using what I’ve learned thus far. I have no doubt that I will receive the same quality of support as I have experienced thus far.

I just finished the 250 Hour Master’s TESOL certification and I can’t recommend their program enough! The curriculum is very informative and well thought out. I was worried it would feel very impersonal at first, but as I took some of their live classes, I got to meet my tutor, Steve, William and Louisa. They were great fun to work with in person. You can email your tutor with any questions and they will guide you to the resources you need. They have many resources at the end of many modules if you have interest in furthering your knowledge. The only negative is the way in which you have to submit the lesson plans. It seemd very convoluted at times and took a few times to get used to it. With that being said, I still give them 5 stars all the way!! The value that I feel I received far outweighed the cost of the program.

I recently did the Zoom Basics course with Christian TEFL and found it very useful. This is because over the last year or so I had been at the receiving end of other people opening up the variety of ways of using Zoom but I didn’t know how to use it myself in a teaching English context. The course offered by Willaim and Louise is well written and presented and they responded very quickly to any problems I encountered. Their support was an invaluable part of the course for me. In the ‘live’ teaching session they came over as warm, professional and very positive and encouraging. I definitely recommend it and can also see how it could be adapted by teachers of languages other than English.

The course was excellent. Easy to navigate, able to complete in my own time, quick feedback from my tutor and a really useful tool for me as I prepare to move to another culture and hopefully offer my services as an English teacher or tutor. Thank you!

I did a Spotlight short course on ‘Zoom basics for teaching English’, to help with my training for teaching English on-line, which I will be doing as part of a volunteer team with a mission organisation. This organisation mentioned Christian TEFL’s courses and arranged for all our team to do the Zoom basics course. I was familiar with using Zoom for meetings but I wanted to learn its full range of functions. The Spotlight course was very useful, interesting and enjoyable. Prior to participating in a one-hour group session with a tutor, the course involved working through three short modules, including watching demonstration videos and practicing various components by oneself. At the live group session on Zoom we each practised doing a task with the other participants and the tutor gave constructive feedback. The written material from the course is a useful resource. The tutor responded promptly and personally to queries and material submitted for marking.

I now feel confident to use Zoom for teaching on-line. I recommend this short, practical course with Christian TEFL.

I have completed the 70hr teaching ESOl course, 40hr total grammar and 3 spotlight courses.

I have enjoyed all the courses and found the support available excellent. The courses are easy to follow and I was able to work them around my job and other commitments. I am not a teacher and at times found the course challenging but there was always help, when I needed it.

The feedback is always comprehensive, useful and promptly provided. Where I have had any questions the tutor has been really helpful and provided clear explanations.

I have started teaching English to refugees and asylum seekers through my church. Everyone at Christian TEFL have been really supportive.

I thoroughly enjoyed following this course. Actually I was surprised at the quality of the content and the considered feedback from my tutor. If I had known this, I would have gone for the 350 hours instead of the 250 hour course that I did. In the light of the fact that CELTA course in England seemed to have been cut in various places, I wonder if there could be an integrated course with actual on-line teaching going on. However, I did also take the short teaching on zoom course and note there is another one that has been developed, in the Spotlight series. I am now in the process of taking the business language course. It has highlighted for me the sheer amount of opportunity there is out there for English teaching and made me realize that I genuinely would like to go for it! It is encouraging to look at the job opportunities that are advertized on the site, although I would like to develop my own on-line business ultimately. The articles from people who have done just that just shows it’s possible!

It has been great to have discovered this course through WEC, having already taught English in Bulgaria in an informal setting, and hoping to do so again in the future. I can also see that it could be a useful tool within the church setting and have just found out that the church I recently joined used to teach English to refugees in the past. Maybe there is an opportunity there too!

The course, to sum up, is motivating and very good value for money.

I completed the 120 hour TEFL Premier distance learning course a couple of years ago and found it very helpful. I learned a huge amount, especially as I’d never studied English grammar etc before, despite being a native speaker.

The tutor and office staff were always very helpful, whether answering queries, giving insightful feedback or helping with problems that came up – and quickly, too.

I didn’t do any practice teaching because it was distance learning but I was, and am, teaching locally.

I also didn’t receive any job assistance – but only because I didn’t need any and had more than enough to do already, but given how helpful they have always been with everything else, I’m sure any job assistance they’d give would be great.

One of the good things about enforced lockdown during the last year has been the Spotlight Live TESOL courses online. These have been a fantastic way to improve my skills and confidence and encourage me in my teaching, especially as all my lessons are currently via Zoom.

I’ve done 4 of the Spotlight courses and they’ve all been extremely helpful in different ways – especially the Zoom Basics course. As the courses are so short it’s comparatively easy to fit in the online study at home and it’s been great to focus on only one thing at a time and take time to ask questions and find out more about the areas in question. The tutors have all been quick to answer any questions very helpfully and the Zoom sessions at the end of each course have rounded each one off nicely.

I found it very encouraging to see other Christians teaching English as outreach with their churches in multiple places, but as there was only a short prayer (at the beginning of some of the Zoom sessions), I think that the Zoom sessions would be encouraging and helpful for non-Christians too.

Being able to prepare a short presentation to share with other students during the Zoom session helped to focus on the most important things and being on the receiving end of other people’s presentations was also helpful as it gave a bit of an idea of what it must be like as a student and helped, as a group, to iron out any problems that cropped up, e.g. with using breakout rooms within Zoom etc – which is the point of the Zoom session – to help increase skills in practice.

If you’re not sure whether English teaching is for you, then I’d strongly recommend one of these short courses as a taster.

I don’t write reviews very often, but the Christian TEFL team have done, and do, provide such an excellent service that I want to sing their praises.

I have ‘worked’ with Christian Tefl on three separate occasions. I did a 20-hour Grammar Course, then an Online-Tefl course and then 3 short courses as ‘extras’ to the online course. I have found the course content to be excellent – plenty of help, resources, weblinks etc. etc. I found the ‘assignments’ to be stimulating and helpful in thinking through various aspects of Tefl. I practiced Zoom teaching on several occasions and really enjoyed the challenge. The instructors are very experienced and provided helpful, prompt feedback for all assignments and teaching.

I also had the opportunity to link up with other Christians and share experiences of how we are using our Tefl. The website provides useful links to Christian organisations which have opportunities for using our Tefl training – I have contacted some of these and am in the process of discussing possibilities of using online Tefl in the near future!

I would thoroughly recommend Christian Tefl and its partner organisation Global-English.

This course was recommended to me and has certainly lived up to expectations. Communication is excellent and personal.

Not being a teacher, and not having completed such a course before, I cannot compare with others, but found the design of the 120 hour course easy to follow and logical.

The efficiency of the on-line programme was remarkable. Feedback was unexpectedly quick and consistent.

It obviously cannot cover every aspect of TEFL but is an excellent introduction, with plenty of guidance on how to extend ones knowledge and find resources. I particularly valued the introductory modules that taught me something about ‘teaching’, principles and approaches that were new to me, but which I now understand.

As a newcomer to teaching I found this course challenging, especially initially and until I understood what was required. Finding my way around educational sites took me more time than it would others.

Lack of teaching experience also meant that I found understanding ‘levels’ of students ability quite difficult. The course organisers clearly recognise that this can be difficult and are finding ways to address it.

Through all of these challenges I have learned such a lot and have been inspired to put into practice what has been taught, and learn more.
