Description

Christian TEFL is an online TEFL/TESOL training organisation enabling you to gain a TEFL certificate and use it in a mission setting if you wish.

We have partnered with some major mission organisations, such as Interserve so you can apply directly for optional worldwide TEFL mission placement through our site. Others are teaching English and earning with their certificate.

Christian TEFL offers professional TEFL courses that were created by Global English TESOL courses, one of the oldest and most established online TESOL organisations in existence.

Christian TEFL is registered with the charity commission in the UK. Trainees decide on how the profits are divided between the mission partners.

I really enjoyed this course and have found it very helpful. I chose this course because I want to serve the community I live in by teaching English as a foreign language. I lacked confidence in teaching and lesson planning and had weak grammar skills. This course has given me confidence and equipped me with the skills I need. The information and the assessment questions in the modules are presented in variety of different ways and were always interesting.

The tutor feedback was always prompt, detailed, encouraging and constructive.

I wanted to do a course which included a teaching practicum but they were very expensive. Since I began this course Global English have produced an additional follow on course specifically to give you that experience, which is really exciting!

I have just completed the Teaching English Online Course and have absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it! I found out about it via one of the recent Christian TEFL newsletters and followed up with some questions to William and Louisa who were both very helpful in responding and suggested it would really help me with what I am working towards. They were right! It couldn’t have come at a better time to do this course and learn more about best practices and also very practical research into how to teach effectively and professionally for a living online. I had been volunteering at a weekly language class and with Covid19 changing how we did things, I started to teach a few of the students one-to-one over the phone. I had never done lessons remotely like this before and had never considered it as an option to do more full time. I started to really enjoy it and could still build a rapport and help the students grow in their skills and confidence. I was doing it all very informally and wanted to learn how I could make better use of online resources and technology to teach engaging and interesting classes. I also started to think this could be a great option to teach a larger network but it felt daunting and I didn’t know how to go about setting up a profile, how to do the administration, work out financials or where to find students. This course walks you through all of these steps and is very hands on and gives you a chance to practice using a whiteboard on a zoom/skype call etc and write your own bio having researched others. Louisa was my tutor and she has been fantastic and really encouraging and supportive pointing me in the right direction and sharing her tips from her extensive experience in this field. I am now feeling equipped and empowered to get started on my own thanks to this course and the great training which has spurred me on and made me more certain that this is what I want to be doing. Thank you all!

I have just completed the 120 Hour Classic TEFL course through Christian TEFL and Global English. I had never taken an online course like this before and was skeptical about the quality of the instruction and content. I wondered how much I might actually learn and find useful. Global English greatly exceeded my expectations!

The lesson modules proceed in a logical fashion. Each one is very detailed and engaging. The exercises throughout are relevant and challenging. I was assigned a “live” tutor who reviewed all of my written work and provided excellent and worthwhile feedback in a very timely manner.

I was given the opportunity to create four very detailed lesson plans throughout the course. The guidance and practice were wonderful. But the format for writing the plan was a bit cumbersome. You aren’t able to see the full lesson plan together in one place, which makes it a little tough to review. I would have appreciated a template to complete, but I suppose that is difficult with their platform.

They provide classroom video examples throughout the course to demonstrate various teaching strategies. Each one was extremely helpful, however they all take place in the same classroom with the same students and teacher. It might have been good to see different students at various learning levels. Still, the videos were my favorite part of the course!

Each module concluded with a list of recommended resources–I have collected a vast and overwhelming list that will benefit me greatly as a new teacher. Additionally, the website has still more resources and information.

The follow-up communication has been wonderful. They have reached out with job opportunities and helpful information to get me going on this journey. I have the feeling I could contact the staff at any time with questions and they would be happy to help me.

I look forward to taking additional courses through Christian TEFL/Global English.

I found this a very helpful and easy to follow course which builds up knowledge and skills step by step.

There is good use of videos to make content variable and interesting. My tutor was always very prompt and helpful in marking work and responding to any queries.

This course was fantastic and very well put-together. The modules are structured well, their progression is logical and they cover a great deal. There’s a variety of assessment methods used throughout (from short comprehension questions, to essays and lesson plans) and there are plenty of pointers to further resources along the way. The teaching videos are very helpful to watch and form an excellent accompaniment to the rest of the course content. The feedback from the tutor was always prompt, detailed and helpful.

On completion, I felt equipped to start teaching and I would highly recommend this course.

An enjoyable course, well thought through and with a good balance of assessment – lesson plans, essays and short format answers. The teaching and explanations are generally very clear, along with useful videos, and the modules are well marked with helpful feedback. The course also includes lots of suggestions for where to find resources. Thanks!

I have just completed the online TESOL 70 hour introduction which I absolutely LOVED and am now genuinely missing my times sitting down with a cup of tea going through the course! I recommend this to anyone seeking an opportunity to use their desire to teach English to connect with people from around the world.

It was perfect timing for me to come across this new course as I have recently been teaching English to refugee women abroad. I had already done the TEFL course and had some teaching experience but there were challenges teaching complete beginners to English and I realised my need to grow and study in this area. The main reason I found the course so interesting and applicable was that it addressed the context of who you were teaching and how to very practically help them get the most out of the classes and content which can support them in their everyday life. Bringing this perspective into the course was really refreshing and showed the genuine care for the learners.

The course was really well set out in manageable modules and I felt like I could make good progress each time I sat down to work through more. The tutors are excellent and encouraging and give very constructive feedback where you can go back and amend lesson plans. The resources that are shared throughout the course are really helpful and I had been searching before but it is great to have a shortlist of go-to’s for busy times of lesson planning.

I am now really excited to have the opportunity to be involved with some classes through a local Church to put some of what I have learnt into practice and hope to go overseas again, more prepared and equipped with increased knowledge and confidence. Thank you!

We landed in France before Brexit and I’d wanted to study for TESOL as preparation for our new life here in the sun. Global English had been recommended by a friend who travelled overseas on mission and it was the obvious choice for me.

Never having taught English, William et al were great at helping to choose the right courses. After a lengthy battle to get internet installed at our rural home, the interactive courses and excellent tutor interaction worked really well at my flexible pace along with all the other adjustments of moving country.

I started with the 120-hour course which has been a great introduction. As a newbie, I took a pitstop with Essential Grammar to fill some gaps but it was easy to mix and match the courses to suit. Next is the Business English course and there are other modules to add-in as my work develops.

I really had little idea of what teaching would look like before landing in France – but the course has helped me identify and match a couple of immediate opportunities with english-language immersion evenings and 1:1 refresher/interest work with friends and contacts here.

I highly recommend the courses and the tutors!

It has been a really helpful course for me. I’ve learnt a lot especially on how to plan lessons, what to expect teaching in a multi-cultural environment, how to manage various aspects in classroom management, and there are many resources that give further guidance on specific areas and topics.

My tutor and other staff members are genuinely helpful. The communication and response were timely and constructive.

I completed the 250 hour advanced TEFL course with Christian TEFL in March this year and would very highly recommend it. I have no teaching or TEFL background and had been slightly nervous about how I would find doing the course without any face-to-face element to it but the way the modules were organised and the excellent input and feedback from my tutor made it very achievable.

There was a very logical progression through the modules and a particular strength was the variety within each one – right from the first module each had a good mix of language and grammar theory as well as sections on the more practical elements of classroom management and creating effective lesson plans. Likewise the answer booklets had a good mix of short and long answer questions as well as lesson planning tasks. This helped to keep it interesting and mixed challenging elements in with more straightforward tasks. I also think that from the outset it helped me feel I was getting a good grounding not just with the knowledge to pass on to students but a real insight into how to be a successful teacher and to enable students to enjoy and thrive in their language learning. The use of links to videos of real-life teaching taking place was also a huge help in this throughout the course.

There were some questions about cultural differences and potential challenges they cold pose in the TEFL classroom. I found this a challenging section to complete but am glad to have done it as it is a key area that I hadn’t thought much about.

The support I received from my tutor was excellent throughout the course. Completed modules were always marked within 2-3 days and the feedback was thorough, detailed and hugely helpful and encouraging as well as flagging up areas to think about/improve on.

I feel the course thoroughly equipped me for starting out as a TEFL teacher. From no previous knowledge or experience, I now feel I could begin to teach effectively and enjoyably with my course notes, links and feedback an invaluable resource to look back on and utilise. Thank you Christian TEFL!
