Great course. It is relatively easy, but still informative. I am satisfied with provided materials (reading and video), the information is up-to-date. The lectures are thorough and professional. There are a lot of teaching tips, and additional resources for teachers. Would recommend!

The online course that I took was unhelpful, to put it kindly. Instruction consisted of a video for each module that was usually hard to follow and in some cases almost unintelligible due to the poor audio quality. I don’t doubt that the instructor might be a strong teacher in an actual classroom, but his style did not transfer well to the video lecture.

Despite warning us not to assess like this in our teaching, the course assesses students exclusively through a multiple-choice (occasionally true-false) quiz for each unit. Many of the questions are written to trick students into picking the wrong answer. Many of them list two things that were explicitly presented in class and two that weren’t, then ask the student to choose exactly one right answer. It isn’t even explained afterward which answer choice was correct if one gets a question wrong.

The grade is available all along through one link on the course site, but upon completion, the student is greeted with a note explaining that it will take two weeks to process the certificate – a fact conveniently not mentioned when signing up for the course – because of the need for grading.

This is false advertising and extremely unexpected for a company with a good reputation in the TESOL community. I’m willing to give Uni-Prep the benefit of the doubt that they usually offer a much better experience than this, but my own experience was so bad that I would rather have not bothered taking a TESOL course at all…and I say this as someone who already has a job teaching English abroad and needs to present a certificate to my boss in three days. I had no clue until the moment I finished the last module that I would be unable to do this thanks to their inexplicable long turnaround time.

Overall, I had a very good experience with Uni-prep’s online Tesol Certificate Course. It was great value for money and affords me the opportunity to make a career change into teaching abroad. The content was highly informative and provided practical knowledge that I can implement straight away. I am still fishing around for job placement and as formal teaching, far less teaching English, is all new to me I feel a bit unprepared to make a quick and successful break into the international English teaching world. I would like to see more job placement coaching as part of the course especially for persons like myself. I find jobs are very plentiful but so is the competition, so tips on resume writing could be a good inclusion especially for persons that don’t have a formal history of teaching. Nonetheless, I will highly recommend Uniprep ‘s online course.

Basics received about teaching and helping students with English as their second language. Gave useful information and tips on how to go about understanding struggles and differences when facing a different culture. Done in my own time at my own pace. A reasonably affordable TESOL class.

I really loved this program, it was thorough and complex but the testing system was easy and a good overall review of the content in each unit. I really enjoyed the fact that this can be done on your own time so your not stressed about completed something by a certain time. Overall I enjoyed this program and would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking to teach globally.

My experience with Uni-Prep course was outstanding. Not to mention that I gained an exceptional knowledge of many topics, including Classroom Management, Assessment, Planning Lessons, etc…, but I also gained a much needed confidence of being the teacher who can empower students with a sense of knowledge and ability. The price was affordable with very good materials. I totally recommend this course.

I have found this online TESOL course to be practical, to the point, well-organised and very helpful, so I must say I am very satisfied. The materials are structured to provide coherence to teachers and thereby giving them a full view of the whole picture. There are many useful advice which I believe will help my classes and students. Another plus that that you can work at your own convenience. It is also really affordable and I recommend it to anyone aspiring to be an Tesol teacher abroad.

I found this to be an effective, convenient, and affordable course. UNI-Prep covered the fundamentals of teaching English as a foreign language, and allowed me to study at my own pace. Having completed the program, I feel better prepared to begin a career as an English teacher abroad.

I chose this course and institute due to the reviews and reasonable price.

This is an online course so the poor criteria ratings reflect this – there weren’t any N/A options.

The course was more comprehensive than I thought but taught in an easy-to-learn manner. There are nine units with each unit consisting of a 20min. video, written material and short quiz.

The videos summarized the talking points nicely. However, the videos weren’t very sophisticated or visually interesting. I created better Powerpoint presentations in my previous life.

This is a good course for a native English speaker. However, I’ve heard some areas/countries do not accept online certification, so if you are a non-native English speaker, you might be better off taking an in-person course. If you are a native English speaker – you might want to check if this type of certificate is accepted or not.

Overall, I’m pleased with the value I received for my money.

I currently teach English in Turkey. İ took the 120hr Certification courses and they served me well. The work was easy and İ learned a lot from the coursework. I liked the ease of allowing me time to complete the work. Thanks UNI-Prep!
