The UNI-Prep certificate course content is well organized. The instructional videos could be more natural sounding and provide an interactive component. It would be beneficial to have an opportunity to interface with the instructor and be able to ask questions. The benefits of taking this course is that you can complete course work in the comfort of your home or anywhere you have access to internet, and you’re able to complete the work at your own pace.
Not only does the program cater well to a very busy lifestyle, it gives you ample opportunities to make sure you do it right. Also, the materials are highly informative. I learned a broad spectrum of the aspects of teaching English to students of all ages and backgrounds. I enjoyed it a lot. Also, the staff was immensely helpful, supportive and kind. I truly appreciate that. Thanks very much.
Let me start off by saying that this was a great program. The course content included a mix of videos, powerpoints and text to read and study. All of this course content was found to be useful and I plan on incorporating many of the teaching techniques and suggestions in my classroom once I start teaching. I feel much more prepared to teach now than before I took this course. The section provided on Lesson Planning was exceptionally useful and clear and will put to ease anyone worrying about that as I was. I would recommend this course.
I’m very glad I registered for this courss. It was well written and the information was easy to access. There was also an interactive element through the videos and the quizzes were simple as well. I recommend this program to anyone who wishes to enhance their teaching skills.
On the plus side:
If you want to get a diploma quickly and fairly hasselfree: this is for you. It is straightforward and easy to follow.
I however, was genuinly looking for in depth knowledge and did not find it in this course. I found the quizzes weird: it tested very superficial knowlegde, no feedback or explanation and a few questions were so ambigious I emailed Uniprep about it. Besides recognizing my concerns, their overall attitude was “don’t worry, you only have to score 50%” and there won’t be a grade anyway. The written stuff is helpfull, the additional resources nothing you can’t find on the web yourself. The video’s are very much outdated (Just a voice over with some slides) and the audio quality is poor.
It seems to cater to the -probably very big market out there- of people who just want a quick way to update a CV. I don’t think I became a better teacher by doing this. The fact that they make this review writing sort of mandatory (as well as liking their Facebook page) feels like the kind of marketing I am not very much impressed with.
I enjoyed my studying with Uni-Prep. Tesol Course includes the most important information you can use for establishing a productive lesson. I’ve picked up many tips concerning lesson planning and classroom management. No doubt I can put this knowledge into practice. Thank you!
I am satisfied with the program because it was straightforward and convenient. After taking this course I feel like I am ready to start preparing myself for a new career teaching English overseas. I was able to finish this course during my free time after work. It was exactly what I was looking for.
The videos were well done and the reading material was easy to understand. The tests were not overly difficult. I recommend this program to anyone who wants a really efficient way of getting their TESOL/TEFL certificate.
This program is definitely superior; I’ve done three other online programs and this is by far more in-depth. Because I have had prior language teaching experience, I didn’t feel the need to have a teaching component. Although not required, I would recommend would-be teachers to get some exposure to working with students specifically in the age group of intended audience. I felt it reinforced my abilities and affirms the various methodologies I used in classes teaching Spanish are the same for teaching English. I felt Uni-Prep’s program is well put together and provides a great overview of what is to be expected.
I loved learning online at Uni-prep!The lessons are clear and straight to the point.Also they had small quizzes at the end of each unit ,so it was less stressful.The time period given for about 1 year is very flexible as well!
I have no complaints about obtaining my TEFL through UNI-prep. It was affordable, informative, and effective. It provided me with various avenues and methods from which to learn and the lesson structure was easy to navigate. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.
