The TEFL Institute is a wonderful self-paced learning environment. The website and course materials are easy to naviagate and informative. I have found it so helpful to be able to access all previous modules for revision at any time, anywhere. The flexibility has been a huge strength of the course.

The only con is that the lessons are read by a text to speech AI and it would be amazing to have it voiced by a real teacher or voice actor to aid with the solo learning and sound more natural and human.

All of the course modules are broken down into easy to follow chunks. I have had no prior teaching experience or higher education and it has been very rewarding to accumulate knowledge and learn new skills with ease during this course.

The onboarding experience has been very positive, as Killian helped me with all the questions that I had.

It was great to enroll in this course. They provided many teaching resources and useful tips. Although I already knew most of the topics since I have a Bachelor’s degree in English, the course was still very helpful in learning more about teaching English as a Foreign Language.

The staff were fantastic, Elaine, the enrolment officer advisor, was especially supportive and made the whole process so much easier. I found the platform intuitive to use, and I loved the addition of AI-powered quizzes and lesson plans. This was my first time experiencing anything like it!

Chris, the chatbot, was an absolute lifesaver as I worked my way through the course. He answered all my questions promptly and was always there when I needed help. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Well done, TEFL Institute, top marks from me!

I did the 180 Hour Level 5 TEFL Diploma (Highfield), 60 Hour Level 5 TEFL in Teaching Online & One-to-One, 60 Hour Level 5 TEFL in Teaching Business English and a 10 hour classrooms methodology course.

The 180 Hour Level 5 TEFL Diploma was comprehensive, in fact it already covered most of what the 60 hour online and one-to-one content, so if I had a do over, I wouldn’t have chosen the additional online & one-to-one as it felt very repetitive.

The Business English add-on module is good and a departure from the 180 hour course, so I found value in it.

I also really enjoyed the 10 hour classroom methodology course, this gave me much more confidence to step into a classroom. The instructor was an experienced professional and it was great to meet other students.

I really liked the way the course was set up with mini online quizzes that you could do as many times as you liked, and having written submissions that were independently marked gave me assurance that I was taking on the content and applying it properly.

I did have an issue with the website being laggy, I tried on multiple computers / mobile phones and with multiple internet providers as I did this course while on the move and sometimes it was achingly sloooooooow. Things would take forever to load, especially on mobile which hindered progress.

In addition once the time period to complete is done, you also lose access to the content, not just the ability to gain the qualification/ certificate. So I recommend making comprehensive notes.

I liked that I was able to apply (& pay) for an internship so now I’m in Thailand in my first post TEFL qualification role.

Now that I’m in my first role I’d like to be able to refer back to course content so that I can refresh myself before applying it in the classroom. I found it annoying that I’d need to pay to do so.

This was my first experience with international institution & after thoroughly checking the course details I decided to take the course & I really enjoyed interacting with experienced instructors, the content of website as well as topics & the responsiveness of staff is marvelous. What an amazing experience it is studying with The TEFL Institute!!!!

I have studied courses with various other companies who deliver TEFL training, but The TEFL Institute surpasses them all!

Their training content is provided in simple and plain language without being encumbered by many videos that misdirect the learning focus. The links to other websites or resources are few but extremely valuable. Their video and other resource links certainly support the content and are relevant.

The course material is well laid out and presented in a manner that it is easy to navigate which helps to keep one engaged and focused on the learning content.

My only point that may be considered for improvement, is to ensure regular checks are done on the availability or access of material in links. The TEFL Institute has a few of these in comparison to some of the other TEFL providers.

I wish to make special mention of Walter Cullinan who is the person I spoke with the first time I contacted The TEFL Institute. Walter listened to my questions and was immediately able to provide the answers. Walter handled my call and subsequent emails in a friendly yet professional manner and his explanations were given in an easy-to-understand way.

All in all, I would recommend The TEFL Institute to anyone wishing to become proficient in the TEFL field. They are a no frills, professional and user-friendly service provider.

The tutors were fantastic. They always responded quickly to questions and provided helpful, constructive feedback on my assignments. I felt genuinely supported throughout the course.

What stood out to me was the job guidance. The TEFL Institute offers brilliant resources for finding teaching positions abroad and online, including CV tips and interview advice. Thanks to their support, I secured my first online teaching job within a month of finishing the course!
