I did the online level 5 TEFL course. The course is set out very clearly and is easy to navigate. Access to contact tutors is clear and replies are quick!

The assignments are easy to follow and have a detail layout of what is expected along with good resources.

The lesson planning is very in-depth with examples and helpful resources for activities and exercises, as well as explaining what works well for different types of lessons.

I highly recommend this course if you would like an in-depth online TEFL course.

I think this is a great introduction into the world of teaching English as a foreign language. I normally don’t enjoy online courses very much, but this one I found very engaging and actually enjoyed going through all of it.

The only things that could be considered for improvement would be some opportunities for live teaching practice via an online platform or some such thing, though I understand this could be beyond the scope of the course itself, and I think the lesson plans introduced throughout the course do provide plenty of practice in the theoretical sense, at least.

I mainly received really good feedback about my assignments – on a couple of occasions it wasn’t very clear what was being asked of me which led to some confusion, but in the end the support team was helpful in resolving these issues.

Would definitely recommend for anyone interested in learning how to teach English!

It has been an absolutely gratifying challenge to have complete the Level 5 TEFL qualification. I took my time to decide to go down the teaching path and having made that decision during COVID I decided to conduct massive research on choosing just the right fit for my needs and requirements. The TEFL Academy was it! And I stand by this choice whole-heartedly. With no prior experience in teaching, however, equipped with a background of copy-editing and ghost-writing, it was evident to me that I needed to approach TEFL from ground zero and build up. The lesson plans, the exercises, the assignments, oh the assignments were designed to push one out of their comfort zone and whether you currently are in the teaching field or not, these assignments definitely open you up to the reformation in language learning and the vast array of materials available online and offline that can be designed as per the needs of your learners. I am exploring taking advantage of the 10hr Teaching Practice Course as that would be the one element that would add immense value to my new career goals.

I started this course during lockdown and was able to complete it well within the six months. I have been teaching ESOL for many years and wanted a qualification to back up my experience. The course made me look at different ways of teaching and I am now applying this to my lessons. It made me really think about presenting grammar and vocabulary effectively. The extra videos and references were thought provoking. One of the best things was the feedback which was really prompt. My only negative was that at times methods seemed a little old fashioned but that was a minor point. Overall I was very happy with the course and would definitely recommend it!

This is an excellent course. It covers everything you need to enter the TEFL workplace.

The assignment feedback is invaluable. It not only helped me improve my assignments, but also gave me pointers I can use in my teaching career.

Studying at the TEFL Academy was a great experience. I chose the TEFL Lvl 5 course. Although online, it felt like I had support throughout.

If I had any questions regarding the course and needed assistance of any kind, The TEFL Academy responded promptly and with great communication.

The course was affordable and easily understandable for self study. I am definately happy with the choice I made in choosing The TEFL Academy out of all the options I found out there.

Part of me wishes I had chosen the in-person training seminar, which is offered, to get some practical experience.

They also offer after-course assistance and resources in moving forward with your TEFL career.

I would highly recommend this course and the TEFL Academy for making this an enjoyable experience considering the recent times.

I studied the Level 5 Course at the TEFL Academy. The standard is very high – it is good to know that the course is at the same level as the much sought after Cambridge CELTA and Trinity College TESOL courses, but it is much more affordable. I am a teacher with many years of teaching experience and for that reason I studied the course without the practical teaching component. Any questions that I had were dealt with very promptly and efficiently. Assignment feedback was detailed and the pdf certificate arrived within days of my completion of the course.

I kept a detailed record of the course: notes on the units that I made as I went along, together with complete unit Bibliographies for future reference (very important), copies of my assignments with feedback and most importantly, I made copies on how to get a job (including examples of CV with Covering Letter, TEFL template for job application requests etc.)

I would like to see more attention given to How to Teach Online included in both the units and the assignments. This would be particularly helpful to teachers working online from home while Covid 19 encircles the globe. Not everyone who takes this course will take the free topup online course – for example, I will do the business English course.

I would definitely recommend this course.

I studied for the Level 5 TEFL online course with the TEFL Academy. At the start of the year I was really confused with whether to go for the online option or the other one but I’m really glad I chose the online option. The resources were very clear, detailed and the quizzes in between the studying really helped.

I made notes as I went which was really useful when it came to passing the end of unit tests and completing the assignments. I thought the feedback on assignments was really excellent due to the detail the tutors provide and wasn’t something I really expected. I just expected having some sort of grade of whether I passed or failed. I passed all my assignments first time round as I had great support, only needed to ask a question once for assignment B. The support was quick which meant I could quickly proceed in completing it.

I liked how they gave detailed feedback for each individual bit of feedback too, it was very helpful. I’m sure the notes I made and what I learnt will be useful now that I will apply for TEFL jobs online! Thank you TEFL Academy

A very well designed course with a good amount of theory and practice. It was difficult enough to test me and make me work hard but not so difficult that I couldn’t progress through each stage which was important to me as I was also looking after my children during the day and also completing my PGCE so I didn’t want to take on something unmanageable. I found it helpful to write notes as I went through it or even take screenshots of some of the material to make it easier when doing the assignments.

There is a lot of extra suggested reading which unfortunately I couldn’t make much use of as I didn’t have as much time.

The assignment instructions are very clear and each assignment is different from the last giving you a good range of practice. There is a lot to take in with the assignments in terms of what documents to complete and submit so it’s worth spending time understanding these in detail before working on the assignment. I got my feedback in a timely manner and it was broken down into chunks so I could see how each section was graded.

Overall I was pleased that I chose to do the course with The TEFL Academy.

I am a qualified teacher from South Africa. I wanted to try something new and exciting. This is exactly what The TEFL Academy was about. I was amazed by the feedback I got from my assignments. It was very helpful. The course itself is designed to be user friendly and the videos helps a lot. I did the Level 5 course and I will highly recommend anyone to make use of this amazing opportunity! It changed my life!
