This course was absolutely wonderful and helpful. The TEFL academy helped me fulfill my dreams as a TEFL teacher and has guided me through the process. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them. I did the 168 hours online course and the online tutor support was absolutely fantastic and they were well responsive. THANK YOU TO the TEFL academy, you are wonderful and I would recommend your courses to any teacher.

I just completed the Level 5 168hr online course, and I’m all in all very satisfied with this course. But because I took the online course I didn’t got to experience teaching in practice, but I think I’ve learned a lot which still will help me while starting to teach English. The course content was interesting and the assignments were challenging, but it really helped me improve both my English skills and my teaching skills. I will further recommend this course to others.

I recently completed the level 5 168 hour online course which I found to be an overall positive experience.

The course work is well structured and is easy to comprehend. The various teaching materials and realistic scenarios provided great insight into the most effective methods to teach ESL learners.

The tutor support system is extremely helpful. All tutors whom I had spoken with were always friendly and ready to assist with whatever queries I had. The response time was generally quite fast, usually within 24 hours. Though at times I found that multiple tutors would be responding to one thread, I believe it may be more helpful to be assigned a single tutor per query.

The assignments were a refreshing challenge that really tested the knowledge gained from the units and required a comprehensive understanding of the coursework. This I believe was the highlight of the course as it provided the opportunity to practice some of the essential skills required to become an ESL teacher.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to any prospective ESL teachers.

I have just completed the 168 hour Level 5 English Course through the TEFL Academy. I found it to be exhilarating, exciting and very enjoyable. I come from a background of a very different type of teaching so found the change in the style of teaching excellent. The 20 hours spent with the instructor in class was very fruitful and an excellent porthole as to what to expect on the course. Even though I am not that computer literate I managed to do what was asked of me and found the information needed for the course. It might be daunting to start with but as one progresses through the course you can relax and enjoy it. I am 68 years of age, so it was quite an experience for me. I managed to pass the course well within the time limit. I am looking forward to teaching scholars English on line in the new year. It is a challenge but well worth taking.

The contact session is fantastic. They take a while to get back to you with regards to grades, feedback, and the issuing of certificates.

I am sadly disappointed with my experience at the NYC 20 hr course.

I was late to the first day due to a family emergency and was almost sent home by the instructor for a course that I paid for. She was rude and barely learned my name the entire first day. Seemingly mad that I chose to stay she mentioned in front of the entire class multiple times each day that I would not receive my certificate. I usually understand policies, but to make it a public subject amid strangers felt incredibly inappropriate, especially considering the nature of why I was late.

She ended the course an hour and a half early on both days. The afternoon of our second day felt rushed and she complained to the class of a bus that she had to catch at 7pm that evening. My confirmation email said that our course was supposed to end at 7pm.

I was also made to feel uncomfortable due to using a photo of a family in my lesson of a non-strait couple. She brashly said that I could be fired from a teaching job for doing so.

I was looking forward to moving towards a job teaching English and becoming certified through the TEFL Academy but after my experience I cannot recommend this course.

I have just completed the 168 hour course with the TEFL Acadamy and Wow! what a journey.

This is something I have always wanted to do but really didn’t realise how difficult it was going to be. I have never taught before so there were a few hurdles to get over. It took me 6 months to finish it as I went through a few ‘I give up moments’ but i stuck with it and after the first assignment was out of the way and I got my result and feedback from the TEFL Acadamy, I ran all the way to the finish line with only a few struggles. The content of the course is excellent and believe me when I say , all the answers are within each module so if you struggle go back over it again. After each Assigment I would get to look at the next assignment content and thought to myself, there is no way I can do that but again I put the head down and asked questions when I was really stuck and the tutors were so very helpful.

I am thrilled I did it and it gave me a huge confidence boost.

You must be prepared to do a lot of your own research also but this is a given really if you are interested in teaching.

The 20 hours Teaching practice in Jurys in Cork was great fun, the instructor was fabulous and so experienced and gave us lots of useful tips and guidance. The second day was a bit daunting for me as there was a lot to take in but essential info.

I am already looking for teaching experience and look forward to looking back over my notes as soon as I begin teaching because I know everything I need is in there.

I really enjoy this course and I’d definitely do it again. The online plataform was easy to use and allowed access to plenty of information. The assignment were fun and helpful.

The assistant I got from the team during the course was also great.

I have recently completed the 168hr level 5 course through the TEFL Academy. The course was extremely thorough a d full of helpful information. I was able to get a job in another country as an English teacher, before completing the course. This is all thanks to how well they teach lesson planning and the great advice they give on dealing with different types of learners, age groups, and cultures. I enjoyed the 20hr in class portion of the course a lot. The instructor was extremely helpful and she had taught abroad for over a decade herself. Thank you for preparing me for my new job.

I have just completed the Level 5 TEFL Course, which is fruitful, comprehensive and well-organized. The flow of the course is easy to understand and follow such that learners can be equipped with the necessary knowledge of teaching English. It also includes resources and material that helps learners to teach both young and adult L2 speakers.

By the way, if the TEFL Academy could provide further practice or support via channels like Skype, the course would become more all-rounded and should attract more learners to choose its course.

Anyway, I highly recommend the TEFL course to those who want to teach English abroad. You will definitely benefit much throughout the learning process!
