The TEFL course is excellent for someone who wants to start looking into how to teach English as a foreign language like I was! It is very in depth but not too difficult to follow, challenging but also rewarding at the same time! I would definitely recommend taking this course it is very worth it. Only one slightly negative thing to say really – if you pass an assignment you don’t get specific feedback on your work, it’s only if you fail the assignment that you get feedback, but I would have liked to know what they thought of my work even though I passed. Other than that, brilliant!

l registered for the Level 5 TEFL course last in March 2020 and l was supposed to complete the course in September 2020 but because of work l didn’t have enough time. l had to apply for an extension and I’m glad that the process was simple and l could complete it at my own pace.

The course material was interesting and easy to understand. The assignments challenged me to think outside the box and I appreciated the feedback l received after completing them. The best part is having job opportunities readily available.

I enjoyed doing my Level 5 TEFL course with The TEFL Academy. I felt motivated by the progress bar as I was learning. The information was very interesting and clear and I found note taking easy. The tests at the end of each unit were comprehensive and encouraged me to study and retain information. The tutors were very helpful and responded rather quickly to queries. My assignments were also graded rather quickly. I found 6 months plenty of time to complete the course. I do wish the assignments were a bit more detailed and allowed for more creativity but overall I had a great experience with The Academy.

My experience with the Tefl Academy has been one of the best.

As a full time student studying at university and having other daily obligations to fulfil Tefl allowed for me to complete the course in my free time and at a pace I found suited me best. The assignments were based on the work we had learnt in each unit and there was never a time I felt one of my lessons wouldn’t guide me through the assignments.

The Youtube videos at the beginning of each unit and once starting the TEFL Course, were really helpful as it helped me navigate through the course easily and explained everything clearly. The units are spilt up into small sections which made it very easy to navigate and understand each concept individually. in each unit other resources are offered where you can find more information on the specific lesson and other resources which you could use during your teaching. At the end of each unit they had a test for you to complete and this really helped me when it came to revising and ensuring I had a better understanding of the work.

The Tefl tutors were very helpful and friendly when needing help with a submission or when it came to finding my way through the course. Feedback from them was excellent and they gave me constructive criticism and never made me feel as if I couldn’t achieve or complete an assignment or an assessment.

Once completing the course, Tefl offered me so many resources to find work and to help guide me through the process of finding the most suitable job for myself.

The Level 5 TEFL Course has been both challenging and interesting. The first three units of the course were based on the basics of teaching English as a foreign language and understanding that to these students English is not their first language. The units give examples and challenges that one might encounter when teaching certain topics and how to deal with them. As the course continues to unites four to seven I noted that the topics need more attention because it is important that the language you teach is used and produced correctly by the students. The skills seem easy to teach but one might find that there are rules that need to be followed in order to receive good results. It is important that as you go through each unit to read through the ” Further Reading, References and Other Resources” part of the course they are very helpful when you need more understanding on a topic and is very useful when doing the assignments.

The rest of the units ( eight to nine) are more about you as a teacher and all the thing you will need to do as a teacher, the units challenge you to put yourself in a classroom and/or online setting where you will need to know how to navigate through a course book or how to keep the class interesting and disciplinary issues. overall the Level 5 TEFL Course is an excellent course to enroll in and encourage other to take part in it, the best part about it is that it is not time consuming you just have to be dedicated to it.

I did the 168hr TEFL COURSE through the TEFL Academy while in South Africa. It was during the Covid lockdown and thought it a good way to spend my time while getting a quilification along the way.

I found the course easy to follow, but testing enough to keep me challenged and thus didn’t feel that I was simply going through the motions. The assignments that the assessment is ultimately based on are not simple, but with application they are definitely passable and I learnt a lot from completing them. Overall I enjoyed it, and thank the Academy for the support and help through the process.

Highly recommended!

I was very satisfied with the quality of content that fhe 168 hours TELF course consisted of, offered by The TEFL academy.

All work is well planned and structured and easy to understand and follow. The end of unit tests was a creative way of keeping me motivated througout the whole course.

At times when I felt a little bit lost, the Academy had a great platform offering assistance to help and guide me to better understanding of what was expect of me.

I am very satisfied and was suprisingly amazed by the wholesomeness of the course. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and learned so much from it to equip me with the tools to become a very good qualified TEFL – teacher.

I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to join the TEFL family. You won’t regret it for a single moment.

I was really impressed with the 168 hour TEFL course presented by the TEFL Academy. I had no experience with teaching, and was looking for a course that would not just give me a certificate, but that would equip me to teach English online. This course gave me a solid foundation, and so many resources and support. The content was up-to-date. It was presented in an easy to understand format. The assignments were challenging, and gave me an opportunity to apply all of the knowledge that I had learned. I was given detailed constructive feedback, and never had to wait long for it. On completion, I received my certificate within a couple of days. Also, I was impressed that I did not have to pay extra to it, something that my daughter had to do with her TEFL course through another facility. The only thing that I would have liked is lifelong access to the course notes, but this is fairly easy to overcome by taking extensive notes through all of the units. I am very glad that I chose the TEFL Academy, and I highly recommend them.

I would like to commend TEFL on their very well thought out and designed Level 5 TEFL course, which I recently completed.

It was a rewarding experience.

The course gave a broad overview of the English language, and how to teach it.

The information taught was easy to access in that at the beginning of the course each Unit(ie 1-10) was given a clear index of what was being taught, and when the individual Units were opened there was a list on the side with more information on the Unit lesson for quick access and to view the content.

The sequence of the lessons were comprehensive, and the structure of the course was easy to navigate.

It is overwhelming at the beginning to learn English again, so I would suggest perseverance.

The language used for teaching the lessons was easy to understand.

The lessons were concise and repeated sufficiently for the information to be understood.

I did struggle to decide whether to make notes as I went along, but only did this for the first 5 units, because after this there was too much information, and it was time consuming.

Perhaps TEFL could advise which aspects to take notes on?

A lot of links were given in each lesson to other teaching sites and online sites for more input on various teachers’ ways of teaching, and to get information for the assignments.

One needs to review the other sites that are suggested by TEFL for a broader understanding of teaching English.

The assignments are intense, need a lot of time to complete, and when you’re working full-time it can be daunting, don’t give up!

It is time consuming, but worth the effort.

The online student support for queries is quickly given within a day.

Learning an online course like TEFL has designed is challenging in that I missed being in a class with fellow students for moral support and to exchange ideas.

It can feel lonely at times.

It’s not easy not having a teacher in one’s presence who can answer questions straight away.

I would suggest a platform be offered by TEFL for students, who are starting the course at the same time, to liase online with each other.

Especially for mature students, such as myself, I’m 55 years old.

Thank you.

Eliese
