I chose 2 days 9am to 5pm one. And i did not even realise how fast time past! I enjoyed every minute of it. I think Simon provided us great guidance. I liked to be given a chance to present our own lessons it was also quite useful to receive and give feedback after our presentations. I noted several useful information for my future lessons that i will definetly consider. I would definetly recommend it to my friends!

The course was very enjoyable. It was good having 6 students from all over the world, who were studying the same things. It felt supportive that we all had some mini technical glitches, which needed Tutor guidance.

Whilst I appreciate the pressure of time with 6 students, 10 minutes did not allow for a whole lesson to be delivered comfortably, if there were technical issues or questions about Zoom. Zoom is a great platform. I would have liked to have had the time to set up chat rooms, learn how to make a new host etc., prior to delivering my lesson. I felt I was fumbling about and loosing the impetus of the lesson and my fellow students interest. Maybe it could be possible when choosing dates, to have the choice of confidence level when using Zoom, so that both students and tutor have a base line from which to work. A ‘Needs Analysis’ for Zoom would be really good.

I would have liked to say HOW I had prepared my lesson presentation and why I had used certain resources. I felt that I may have been marked down for not using PowerPoint or similar.

The written feedback was good, although I would have valued the opportunity to speak with the tutor, to clarify why certain grades were given and what the expectation was for a higher grade. In fact it would be really useful to have all your benchmarks i.e. reasonable, good etc, clarified before the online lessons. This would really help with lesson preparation and delivery. It would also be easier for self evaluation and reflection, when receiving the written feedback.

I have already recommended TEFL.ORG to friends. Thanks for a good learning .experience

Charlie was an excellent facilitator and mad me feel at ease and welcome.

Simon was an excellent tutor for the weekend virtual course. He was friendly, witty, professional and very knowledgable. The classes were fun and engaging despite being on Zoom. I learnt so much over the two weekends and the feedback given on our presentations gave me guidance on how to successfully plan and deliver lessons. Simon also gave us job assistance and great resources that will be of help both during and beyond the course. Thank you Simon!

Simon’s course was clear and engaging and provided me with the necessary tools to begin my teaching career. Simon was supportive but also gave great feedback that taught me a lot about how to prepare and give lessons. I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend course as my tutor, Clare, was extremely helpful, providing us with useful information and resources to use as we move into teaching. I thought the course was structured very well, with theory on the first day and teaching on the second. This worked particularly well as it allowed us to think about our presentations and use the information given to us to help write them.

The introduction to Zoom was really useful too, as these skills are extremely helpful for a career in teaching.

Overall, I thought the course was really well organised and enjoyable; I would definitely recommend it to friends!

Overall the experience was a positive one – the teacher Clare provided us with a lot of great guidance and insight. I was able to take note of many techniques she was using during her lesson plans and apply them to my own teaching demo. It was a very supportive environment, the material was fine, the level was fine. I suppose the only criticism I had was actually outside the lesson itself, i.e. before and after, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, how to prepare, even if I would be receiving a certificate afterwards. I think this could be solved with more info being sent over in emails prior to the lesson. Also, as someone working full time, though the material was very manageable, it was very hard receiving the instructions on a Saturday evening for what I am to prepare for Sunday evening. I felt nervous and maybe not as prepared as I could have been. However overall I would still like to say that I did actually enjoy the lessons and appreciated the teacher’s efforts.
