This course was excellent. Stephen made it fun and won me round to the idea of doing more games in class. He was lively and energetic and the group dynamics were great. It was tiring but I learned a lot about how to teach TEFL as well as some German, a bit of Spanish and brushed up on my French. He specifically addressed tenses for me, as I was not sure how to deliver this to my learners, so this was much appreciated and helped me enormously.

I am looking forward to getting on with the theory side of things more now and feel much more prepared. Taking the course has definitely changed the approach I will take to teaching – with speaking first, writing next then looking at grammar. This is far more effective than the way I was doing it. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience Thanks 🙂

Marc was great help over the weekend. It was great being able to gain a hands on experience teaching while he provided very constructive feedback and always helped in a positive manner.

The structure and lesson was well delivered and Marc was always obliging to help. I really enjoyed the weekend course and would 100% recommend this to others.

Emma Buxton was highly professional as well as personable and friendly trainer. She delivered the course content with enthusiasm and humour, managing to cater to a wide range of abilities and experience across the group. I really enjoyed the two days as Emma made them engaging and all key information was delivered well. 10/10

My one recommendation would be a timing amendment to change the timings of day 1 so you finish at 6/6.30pm and not 8pm.

The last activity was scheduled between 5-6pm and it was to plan a lesson, which then had to be taught to the class in groups. By this time, late on the Saturday, people were tired, they weren’t ready to start presenting at 6pm so the timings slipped and also audience participation waned as the time went on.

Perhaps plan the lesson on the Saturday afternoon, as currently, but finish at 6/6.30pm to give more time to finesse the plan and to rehearse their lesson overnight. You could then come back fresh on Sunday morning to present, rather than at the end of a long day on the Saturday.

You could accommodate by reducing the lunch period to 30 minutes not one hour on both days and/or starting at 8.30am.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when booking the classroom section of my course and was pretty nervous about it. Emma was amazing and made the weekend great fun whilst teaching us so much and making us feel comfortable and confident. I would highly highly recommend it to anyone and it does not matter where you are in your online course or if you aren’t doing one at all. It may seem daunting before hand but I promise it is definitely worth it! Shout out to Emma for being so helpful and such a laugh and good luck to all the others in the class!!

The weekend course is quite intense but Simon French is an amazing teacher, his classes were fun and he had lots of patience with our many questions.

A really helpful course which consolidated the content I had covered online. Some useful teaching practice but Simon excelled in giving real life examples of teaching EFL, both in the UK and overseas. I have gained confidence to go forward and start teaching, and I am looking forward to my new career.

The course was brilliant and such an eye opener to the English language as a whole, I had no idea it was so complex, I will be doing my very best to implement the skills I have learnt to teaching English to students 🙂

I was nervous when I enrolled for Tefl course however, after starting it online I was at ease. The resources are brilliant and easy to follow. I am much more confident after classroom lessons. Thanks Iyshea for been a great tutor.

I highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to pursue teaching English to adults as career.
