I am a teacher myself and am usually hyper-critical of other teachers. I have no criticism of Rachel she was competent and knew her material. She made it interesting and time passed quickly.

My only criticism was of the venue. It was well-placed off the motorway but the food options were expensive and there were limited options elsewhere because of the location of the venue.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this course. Our instructor Dave was very competent, engaging and made the learning process fun and enjoyable. With his use of praise, together with practical examples taken from his own personal experince working in this field and sound knowledge, I felt this course has provided me with a good starting point which i will develop further through my private studies. I left the course feeling really excited and confident and cannot wait to be able to use the strategies learnt and apply them to my current job as a teacher and in my future job as teacher of English as a foreign language. I am very grateful to have met Dave and very satisfied with the course

Rachael was an excellent tutor. She kept us engaged, challenged and motivated throughout the three days.

At no point did I find myself disengaging from the sessions, Rachael ensured we were constantly having to think about what we were doing. The class size was, in my opinion, just right at ten people.

The only possible criticism I could make is about the venue and not about my tutor or TEFL.org: They were quite lax when it came to ensuring our coffee break beverages were with us on time. One day it took two phone calls from Rachael to get them to actually deliver (late) the coffee and tea.

However, this was an insignificant issue and it shouldn’t detract from the fact that I found the whole experience rewarding and I left feeling I had learnt a lot.

Rachael was a fantastic motivator and clearly understood different learning styles and personalities.

Her feedback was fair and she kept control of the group at all times. She created great harmony among the group and her skills were quite obvious from the first day.

She managed to personalise the course and the group left feeling confident and satisfied.

The overall experience of the 20 hour TEFL classroom course was a very positive one. I felt satisfied and more knowledgeable by the end of it. I particularly enjoyed the Japanese lesson as it made me feel like a student myself, as i began to understand the difficulties of the learner through this exercise my appreciation for the profession grew. The teacher (Carl) is vastly experienced and knowledgeable being able to answer any questions we may of had. He gave us lesson planning advice then made us do a lesson ourselves giving each other feedback after, this gave us an idea of the realities of the job. A lot of content was covered over the two days but it did not feel daunting as it was fun and engaging

I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.

I found the course very beneficial as it demonstrated what was involved in teaching TEFL. Carl was excellent. I felt he made everybody feel at ease, was a great communicator, and his experience was evident. He ensured the course was extremely interactive. Peer-to-peer learning was a concept he championed throughout and his teaching strongly reflected this approach. I felt his advice on lesson planning was really helpful and has enabled me to think about how a teacher should talk less as a lesson progresses.

Carl has taught all over the world. This enabled him to offer great advice about a huge range of places. He was very good at providing constructive criticism and I feel that I learnt how to avoid some pitfalls, such as observing your class very closely and paying close attention to your own spoken grammar at all times. I am struggling to think of a negative – there is a lot of information to absorb in one weekend, which some perhaps found tiring…but personally I liked that I could do this in an intense short blast so to speak. Public transport in Northern Ireland on a Sunday morning is woeful, that was the only thing I struggled with – maybe a later start on a Sunday would have suited me better personally.

Overall Carl was excellent. He is highly professional and approachable.

The course was well structured and full of helpful techniques and tips for teaching. Although the course was very intensive, it was well-paced, and there was always an interesting new learning tool to master, so that our attention could remain high. The tutor was good at assessing individuals in the class and helping us learn how to observe others and get everyone to participate in lessons. The lesson template was very clear and made it easy to understand how to put a lesson together. The tutor was very helpful in answering our questions, both theoretical and practical. He gave us positive feedback but also pointed out how we could make improvements. Working in groups was also effective, and the tutor helped members of the group to work together. This was an enjoyable experience, with an excellent tutor, and I am very pleased with my certificate for the 20 hour classroom course. I would now consider adding online learning hours to this if the option is available.

Pros- I thought that Carl our teacher for the 2 day course was amazing! He made the experience a fun environment for everyone and really made me enjoy learning the Tefl content. He made sure that all members of the class were involved in every aspect that we completed and that we understood everything. Only for Carl I don’t think I would of enjoyed the course as much.

Also the content was brilliant and the way the course was delivered really helped me understand each module of the online course.

Carl also gave each member feedback things that were our stenghts and other things we may be able to improve on which is an excellent help and benefit to myself. Carl ensured that we all got to ask plenty of questions about destinations that provide Tefl jobs all over the world and offered his advice.

Lastly, from start to finish I feel like the course content, plan and environment was superb and I thouroughly enjoyed myself learning content that I never thought I would hear myself saying this. Thankyou

Cons- only cons I can really think off are the room was quite cold at times and possibly a bigger room as it did seem quite cramped when we all had to perform our presentations

Short, snappy and informative weekend. Interactive and engaging throughout with a quality tutor and and an opportunity to team teach and deliver two short lessons. It’s a solid foundation for learning additional content in relation to TEFL. Quick hint: if you haven’t done so already make sure to brush up on your tenses and nouns/adjectives/verbs, etc before you attend as it will make the content more understandable and relatable.

The course gave an insight into lesson planning and delivery, which the online course would not have done.

Overall this was a very good course that I would recommend.
