Online TEFL Starter Course that I completed is an excellent course for several reasons.

First, as an English teacher at a secondary school, I could learn how to make good lesson plans including time management.

Second, I could learn how to give good student-centred lessons by reducing teacher talk time and increasing more active tasks.

Third, as an English teacher, I could review some important basic points of teaching such as pronunciation and grammar.

Fourth, some assignments of the three modules have choices, which was good because we can select either a comfortable one or a challenging one.

Over all, the contents of the materials of this course are great. We watched many videos and read many articles. I could even enjoy studying, doing assignments, and preparing for the live tutorials. I could also be very objective about my teaching skills.

My tutor was excellent. During the live tutorial lessons, she always encouraged me by mentioning my good points first. She also clearly and gently explained how to make my instructions better. She is very good at eliciting people’s potentiality. With her advice, I could improve my lessons at school and became more confident as a teacher. If the live tutorial time had been longer, for example 75 minutes, I could have asked her more questions and we could have discussed English education more. Time flies!

As I am already employed, I cannot rate or write about the job assistance in this course. That is why I gave three stars for that point. I really appreciate this course and it made me keep studying. Now I am motivated to try CELTA course. So, I highly recommend this course for English teachers who really want to train themselves. You can do it from home!
