I have 20 years experience in the field of language education. I have completed a BA in Education, a Master’s in English Language Education and the DELTA. My current role is professional Development Coordinator for a large Vocational college in Saudi Arabia. Our students must achieve a B1 on the Cambridge PET exam in order to progress into their studies of Avionics and Engineering. While our program does focus on general English, we are essentially a test prep program. As such, I am constantly looking for ways to increase my knowledge regarding language assessment and the Cambridge suite of exams in particular.

After recently having completed Oxford TEFL’s Teacher Development course: Teaching Cambridge Exam Classes, I can authentically and happily say, the training was highly valuable. Positives include:

My tutor Billie was incredibly supportive throughout the process. She was flexible in our meeting times which is critical to my busy work schedule. In our meetings she offered valuable feedback and insights on all assignments. In addition, she provided very useful suggestions for me to approach various projects and initiatives critical to my current role.

I highly recommend this course to any professional in the field looking to expand their knowledge of assessments and or boost their CV.

I just finished the CELTA online, part time course. It was great. I had years of experience teaching ESL, but no formal training. I learned so much during the course. The tutors are really helpful and admin is always available for anything you need. Great value for money. I’m very glad did this course. I’ve already been using what I’ve learnt in work and my students have really responded to it.

I took the Pronuncation & Intonation course at Oxford TEFL and was impressed with this online course. I already had some background in this area and am not a junior teacher, but still felt this course was sufficiently challenging for me. The self-study material was useful and relevant and was complemented by one-one-one sessions with an experienced tutor. I received thorough personal feedback on my assignments and lesson plans and would definitely recommend this course.

Excellent distance course provider.

I did the online DipTESOL and was very impressed with the course, content and tutor feedback. The tutors were experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about what they were delivering. Communication with Oxford TEFL and with the weekly tutors was very quick and helpful. Feedback on the assignments was useful and helped me know what I needed to work on or study more. The excellent support continued throughout the Unit 2 projects. The weekly webinars brought all the self-study together and were motivating to take part in. Some of the speakers were well-known names like Adrian Underhill. The grammar webinars with Lindsay Clandfield were incredibly helpful for the Unit 1 exam and also a lot of fun.

The course input and materials were really well thought out. The face-to-face part of the course at Active Language was also very well run.

The workload for the course is high but it is rewarding if you put the time and energy in.

I would not hesitate to book another online course with Oxford TEFL.

Excellent course and support, I’d highly recommend it to anyone up for a challenge and wanting one of the best starting qualifications in the industry. The tutors gave me incredibly helpful and precise feedback, and now I really feel ready for the job of teaching English.

What sealed it for me in taking this course was the amount of reviews saying how intense but how worth it it is to take this course. It scared the heck out of me but I wouldn’t change it for a second.

It’s insightful, stressful, intense, fun and hugely worth doing. The tutors, course directors and other peers are so helpful and engaging that the support system is designed to prevent you from passing. All you have to do is ask for help.

I’ve learned so much in such a short time. Going through all of that only motivates you to learn more after the course. Do it, you won’t regret it.

Oxford House TEFL was simply amazing.

The last month has been beyond beneficial and I can confidently say thanks to the support and incredible hands on experience offered by Oxford House I am equipped with all I need to start my teaching career.

The staff and tutors were incredibly helpful and provided help and support around the clock.

The course is intensive but so cleverly laid out that each day helps get through the next and clearly has a process which helped me grow so much into a better teacher.

I couldn’t recommend Oxford House more.

This is an amazing language school with a diverse and talented team at the helm. My course was creative, challenging and engaging. This was due to the staff and their investment in their work. The resources and assistance post completion have been extremely helpful for job placement and real life assistance. I highly recommend this school.

Instructors are experienced and competent, always ready to help. I had Anna and Regina as tutors for the teaching practice section of the course and their feedback was very constructive. Corinne, from Career Services has a database of schools to help you get a job after completing the course, and she also helps with your CV and mock interviews. I also had Cat for the unknown language project and some input sessions. She was also super helpful when giving advice about teaching in general.

I would definitely recommend Oxford House in Barcelona to get your certification. Knowledgeable instructors, constructive feedback, readiness to help, well connected career services, great environment, friendly staff, and nice facilities (with a kitchen and outside garden for those of you on a budget bringing your lunch to school).

I started this course with a fear to give presentations in front of people. I finished this course feeling very confident giving classes to all types of classes! I was trying to find clients to give private classes before the course and couldn’t find any. Only one week has passed since I finished the TEFL course wih Oxford and I already have 3 different clients for private classes!
