I’ve taken 3 courses which I found excellent. OnTESOL helped me to be a better teacher. My tutors were amazing. It seemed that they were concerned about my learning. They were so fast at giving feedback or explaining sth to me. I never felt that they were far from me. In fact, I learned a lot from them. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful as well. Everything was perfect. I’m so grateful.

I thought everything about the course was excellent and really got me ready to be an ESL teacher. The only thing I would recommend adding in the grammar portion is punctuation. I know American English has a lot of punctuation and I always strive to make sure my punctuation are correct and I want to teach that to my future students. I have the resources to teach them, but it would have been nice to have it in the 120-hour Advanced Teaching course as a refresher.

My tutor was amazing! He really helped me understand the assignments and gave me great, useful and helpful feedback. I can’t wait to find a teaching job and get started teaching in the country I love to give students a whole new language to learn and expand upon, if they already know English.

Thank you so much for this course!

Having taught English for over 20 years, I was looking into switching to online teaching. As a TESOL/TEFL certification was an invariable requirement for the position, I did extensive search on the best online course. To make a long story short, my conclusion was to go with OnTESOL and I could have not done better. To name just a few factors that made my whole experience with them unforgettable, the 120-hour advanced course I took is given generous 6 months to complete, which was exactly how long it took me as I was working full time while dealing with some health issues. The course itself is well-structured, with all the tests and assignments reinforcing and monitoring your comprehension of the material presented. I was able to learn so much about the theory of language teaching as well as specific methods and techniques that helped me to internalize this new knowledge. My mentor Florina did an excellent job. Her responses always came within 48 hours and her feedback was detailed, personalized, and clear. Another thing I would like to mention is the great effort of their administrative staff who made sure that all my queries were answered on time. What is more, they actually did give me free job assistance, which, unfortunately, I could not use as I had signed up with another great e-learning company by that time! In short, I would definitely recommend the 120-hour advanced OnTESOL course as it proved to be great value for the money I spent.

P.S. I actually did not do a teaching practicum as I have had teaching experience.

I had a great experience with OnTESOL. The course content was very thorough, and It was great to have a tutor when I had any questions about the material. They helped me right away with my resume, and I got the first job I applied for! I would definitely recommend OnTESOL to anyone looking to get certified to teach ESL!

I completed my 120-hour Advanced TESOL certification and 20-hour TBEC certification in about one month and a half, and I would like to say that my experience was enlightening and helpful!

My tutors were responsive to my questions and provided me constructive feedback to improve my lesson plans and assignments. I learned a lot from start to finish. At first, I thought I knew everything, since I’ve taught ESL before, but I was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong. I feel more confident now in my knowledge of English linguistics and grammar, as well as in my lesson planning.

My recommendation to anyone interested: Keep an open-mind going into your course and ask questions to deepen your learning. A humble attitude goes a long way. The lesson plan templates may seem intimidating, but once you get used to it, you realize that you are becoming more aware of your teaching habits, allowing you to improve over time. As a result, students will feel better in your classroom. 🙂

My only problem with this course is that sometimes though rarely, there are mistakes in the descriptive content, and job assistance was not consistent throughout the course (started out strong then fizzled out). Otherwise, I found the course to be well-organized, user-friendly, and worth investing time in!

I completed my course a few months ago. The course, materials, and support were all amazing.

I would like to write more about my experience with the OnTesol team. I started my course in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. There were still many disorders happening in almost all organizations in Canada, which caused a lot of stress. But at OnTesol, everything was better organized and managed. I am happy that I chose OnTesol. The team was very supportive. Claudia, Lucas, Clare, Sebastian were all very kind, patient, and understanding.

Once an issue arose, they did their best to help me resolve it and complete my course. Claudia, the director, is a very experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate person.

And about my teacher, Florina, I would say she knows her job and she can help you to become a great teacher. But you have to be proactive and ask for her help. I especially loved her feedback and reviews on my papers because they were clear, concise, and to the point.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed taking the 120-hour Advanced and 20-hour TEYL courses.

I wish I could have taken it in person, as the content was excellent. But the flexibility of online was great to balance between my work schedule, and I could do the course at my own pace. As a new educator, I learned so much about teaching ESL, the different approaches, and catering to different stage/age levels.

My tutor for my main course was absolutely amazing, and her feedback was extremely insightful. Felt like she actually cared about me and my work. Though I didn’t have the same experience with my second tutor, they were helpful nonetheless. It would be nice to offer virtual appointments with tutors.

The job assistance started out well, the OnTESOL team was very responsive. Looked over my resume, gave me feedback, and it’s now my official ESL resume. Unfortunately I didn’t hear anything back from the program affiliated with OnTESOL, but the help I received to prepare was great.

This course was challenging, but I highly recommend it!

I took my first 100 TESOL course with OnTESOL in 2013. Since then, I have taken the 20 hour TEYL specialization course to up my certification to a 120 hours. I recently followed this by taking the 10 hour online teaching course to give myself the ability to be prepared to teach online in the future. I was very pleased with my overall experience with OnTESOL and am looking forward to taking more of the offered courses in the future. I wish to thank my tutors for the courses as well as other staff and supervisors that have all been very helpful in making sure my needs were met in a prompt fashion. I would recommend OnTESOL to anyone interested in becoming more involved in the ESL industry both at home and abroad.

I found the OnTesol Program to be a very good program with excellent instructors who guided me through the TESOL, TEYL, and Practicum courses. Even with the restrictions caused by the pandemic, I felt that all my instructors did their best to make sure I got the most out of the certification. I also found that all the resources provided were very useful, especially the videos that were recommended in each segment. In terms of job search, I think one of the best things that OnTesol does is connect you to other teachers in various places around the world. I could read blogs about other teachers’ experiences, or talk to them personally. I think one thing that I might have liked to see from the program is a list of pros and cons to private schools vs public schools (depending on the country). While looking for a job, I was not sure which would be a better fit for me because I did not know what varied between them. All in all I had a very positive experience with OnTesol, and I am grateful I got my certification through them!

OnTESOL provided me with great training to become an ESL teacher. The course was well laid out and explained in detail beforehand. Lesson plan assignments each built upon the last which led to a positive learning experience. My instructor, Florina, was knowledgeable, respectful and always prompt in her responses. I would certainly take another OnTESOL course in the future.
