MyTEFL provided me with an excellent course. I wanted to have some sort of experience in the teaching field as I start my travelling so as i browsed the options myTefl stood out to me for a few reasons:

1. The reviews. The 120 hour professional course had hundreds of positive reviews, which is always a good sign.

2, The cost. For what you are paying, you get a lot for your money. As well as constant support for the course tutors, you will have access to all your materials to download and for 180 days after your course ends. I think this is vital for refreshing your learning.

The actual course was very interesting and never stale. The test at the end of each section constantly tested my knowledge and forced me to memorise it!

I highly recommend this if you want to get a TEFL, it never felt like a chore to study but instead was engaging thanks to myTEFL.

I took 120 TEFL course which was comprehensive, written in easy, understandable language and broken into sections. There is an assessment after each section that helps you to reinforce the knowledge. It also recommends a lot of helpful resources. The big perk is that it is affordable, you get the best quality course for a good price. MyTEFL offers some great placement opportunities after completing the course. I decided for an internship in China and their crew was supportive and willing to provide any help needed during my whole stay.

When I decided to get my TEFL, I had very little guidance. There’s dozens of programs, and it quickly becomes overwhelming. Yet myTEFL kept coming up in every search, and after some digging, I decided to put my funds and trust in them.

I’m really glad I did.

I feel so much more prepared for my work as an ALT -Assistant Language Teacher- in Japan than before. While my job provides very hands on and practical knowledge, myTEFL filled in all the gaps and left me ready to keep teaching and hungry for my understanding of education in foreign countries.

The sympathy and understanding that they reinforce at the core of the program was really refreshing to see: all too often, it’s easy to forget that students can’t do what we could at their age. Seeing a program emphasize that as a constant really made it easy to log on and put in some hard work on the modules.

Most importantly, this course taught me how to teach and give understanding: I now can empathize even deeper with the students I’m charged with teaching, and feel more capable of teaching them grammar and understanding rather than memorization. This is really helpful for me as a teacher in Japan: I can push past memorization and really connect students to their second language.

Already, I’ve recommended myTEFL to dozens of ALTs and friends in Japan. I think that if you’re not sure of which program is best but want to feel overall prepared to keep doing your job or start a new one, myTEFL opens the way to your success no matter where you’re looking. 100% would do it all over again!

The course was comprehensive and thorough but was broken down into manageable sections so I wasn’t overwhelmed. I really enjoyed the structure and flow of the modules. The staff is great too- they’re very helpful and friendly and make the process for choosing a teaching location as smooth as possible. I’d definitely recommend!

I really liked the course, the team, methods of learning. Around the library you can download lesson plans and other materials for your EFL class.

It was a great experience and I highly recommend it. All of the process on getting notes and a kinder journey for students (more practice in the 4 skills of the English language) was stunning for me.

The course is comprehensive and is great for those who are unfamiliar with being in a classroom. If you’re an experienced teacher looking to boost your resume and qualifications, it’s a good review, refresher, and way to pick up new classroom methods.

The interface itself is intuitive and is accessible on multiple devices. I was able to read and work on my phone while on the go.

When I did have questions, the tutors were prompt and friendly. I never had to wait long to have any of my questions answered.

All in all, this is a good 120 course for novice or experienced teachers.

I signed up for myTEFL’s 120 hour course to live and teach in Thailand, and this seemed the easiest way to get there. I have a degree from a great Canadian university, so I thought the course would just be a technicality and something to rip through quickly for the certificate.

I’m stoked I did the course because I really knew nothing about teaching. It covered a lot, and made sense to me when I actually stepped into my classes and started teaching. Some units were dense and I had to go through the material a few times to get it, but on the whole it was clear and easy to pick up. I use the lesson plan template and examples from the library and the printouts for my classes.

The tutor support was excellent. My tutor responded super quick when I had a question.

The placement service got me a sweet gig in Thailand. My co-ordinator took care of everything including the interview setup and tips. I interviewed within a week of course completion.

The first few weeks on the job were tough, but now I’ve got the hang of it. I definitely recommend myTEFL for the content, support and confidence I got to face up to a classroom of 25 kids and get them learning.

I had my 120-hour of myTefl course and I was so impressed of the completeness of its modules. Though, am a 6 year teacher all in all teaching Kindergarten, Intermediate elementary level and a part time College Instructor, finishing the course greatly enhanced my skills as a teacher.Your modules are almost complete and easy to understand.Secondly, upon enrolling, I had a reasonable discount to start with.But since I was so busy in my school where I work, I was not able to finish the course at its required time and I needed some time to extend. What’s good at it was, I never had difficulties extending with their process to pay and extension.Third, the customer service whom I chat with if I have some querries is very accommodating and she is Tina.

Finally, my course was a full thumbs up for me and I greatly recommend myTefl to everybody who wanted to take a leap of teaching English and live and work abroad.Let us all enjoy packing our bags and enjoy the world ahead of us!

I have never taken an online TEFL course before, so I’m not 100% sure what the standard is for them.

The 120-hour MyTEFL course was pretty good, it seemed to have covered all of the main topics involved in teaching English. After completing the course I am still not completely confident that I will be able to stand up in front of a class full of students and be able to thoroughly teach them English, but I am definitely more optimistic about my abilities.

Pros

* reasonable price

* staff reply quickly to inquiries

* library with resources to aid in teaching

* Internships and Job placement

Cons

* definitely not 120 hours worth of material, I completed the course in around 30 – 40 hours and I went at a speed that I’m sure is slower than most people

* the question format is very redundant

* no practice material to help retain information

I completed a 120 hour myTEFL course over a period of four weeks. I found the program to be engaging, informative, and expansive in its coverage of different topics. As I have been taking the online course, I have also been volunteering as a classroom assistant in AES classrooms(Academic English Studies). I found the TEFL course to be a great assistant in this process. I often used it to get ideas for lesson plans, activities, and advice for my multiple responsibilities as a classroom assistant and occasional substitute teacher. As it is purely an online course, it does not include actual practicum-experience teaching people in a physical setting. However, this is not necessarily a weakness of myTEFL, if it is used as a resource alongside other teaching activities. I found that taking the online course was an extremely helpful and productive supplement to my classroom practicum, and that these two components have enabled me to have a more holistic experience in learning to become an English teacher. Even though I have completed the course, I find myself returning to myTEFL to utilize the reference library, or to go over past lessons for inspiration and advice. I am happy and grateful for my experience with myTEFL and for the role it has played in my journey to become an English teacher!
