For a couple of years, I have thought that I would want to teach in another country. I waited, though, because 1) I am in school working on completing two bachelor’s degrees in May 2023, and 2) I didn’t want to be sure of anything until I would visit a country and made my decision then. This past summer though, I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in South Korea. I had spent some time simply as a tourist, and then some time as a student. Within three days, I just knew I wanted to live here. I had met new people, and teaching them common English phrases and knowledge was something I thoroughly enjoyed doing and I could see myself spreading my knowledge to people who want to learn! Being inspired, I began my journey searching for TEFL programs, and I wanted to make sure it was authentic and reputable, but not one that would break my wallet as a college student. I came across MyTEFL Academy while researching one night, and I read amazing reviews about it, so I decided to give it a try and I am very happy I did.
This 120-hour course was very instructive and gave me an insight into how and what teachers go through on a daily. It was very informative, and I enjoyed how I got to learn the teacher’s point of view, as well as the students’ point of view. Sure, I’ve learned about the grammar techniques that were taught in this course for years, but it was a nice refresher and I love that I can use it as a reference for life. My favorite part was that I had a personal library and tutor if I ever needed help. MyTEFL Academy has many resources that are in the palm of my hand, and I really enjoy that aspect. If I have a friend who wants to follow in similar footsteps, I will definitely recommend this program to them and tell them all the benefits of what MyTEFL Academy provides. I am so happy I chose this program in particular, and I hope that I can use the tools that were provided to me for my potential career as a foreign language teacher in the future!
