I took the course in the summer of 2013 in Guadalajara Mexico. It is an intensive month and a lot of material is covered. However I would not recommend the course offered in Mexico to anyone. They advertise that they offer free job placement for life which is not entirely the truth. What is offered is an interview which you may not get the job. If you do get a job it is going to be in a language institution, and it is not a normal schedule you may work one hour in the morning and then have an 8 hour break and work one morning in the afternoon. You may have to sign a 6 month contract so two hours a day for 6 months, if you break this contract ITTO will not help you look for anymore jobs in the future. Also they do not explain the visa process until you get here. What I mean is that you have to leave the country and obtain the visa outside of mexico and return if you want to work legally in Mexico. So all in all I would give this a 2 out of 5 stars.

Attending ITTO was a worth while and pleasurable experience to say the least. My beginning communication with ITTO revealed a school where professionalism and care were both paramount, even when answering a myriad of questions as was their case with me. ITTO’s effectiveness in implementation was foreshadowed upon my arrival to Guadalajara, as provided and paid for transportation was waiting to take me to my reserved housing, whose staff also kindly awaited my arrival. Housing was a major concern of mine that was quickly relieved day one, as I was overwhelmed by the accommodations and willingness of staff to make sure all my questions and needs were addressed quickly and properly. The communication between ITTO and student housing was both obvious and effective in addressing any concerns the students may have had, in all situations I observed, to the betterment and liking of the student first. Our instructor, Linda Byrd, exudes a love for English and teaching that is both apparent and infectious. Daniel Nunez, with whom I began my communiqué with ITTO, was helpful and friendly throughout the course, and always left me with the feeling that he not only didn’t mind helping, but was happy to do so. Another major concern with the course for me was how compact it is, and If I would be able to handle it without stressing out or failing. This particular concern was alleviated daily, as preparation time for all projects and classes included a host of veteran instructors ready to answer questions and help through knowledge and example. Job placement is crucial for anyone entering any field or profession. ITTO addresses this fact by both offering life long job placement and through rigorous and professional seminars held by Alan Davalos on building a professional and modern CV while also effectively marketing oneself through different medias and internet usages. Throughout your attendance, Alan is ready to answer all questions about the course, and about your future thereafter, including private one on one meetings with the students helping them to decide where they want teach in the world. Alan’s and ITTO’s extensive network of schools around the world who constantly reach out to them for well qualified instructors to fill positions in an ever growing global market for English teachers, is invaluable to all ITTO graduates in obtaining the right job they are looking for in a timely fashion. I myself, garnered a highly desired position, which included housing and above average pay, in San Lois Potosi within a week of my graduation from ITTO. Teaching is rewarding in a way one could only feel once they’ve experienced it for themselves, I would never beforehand had thought it to be so pleasurable and filled with joy. Horror stories from friends who teach middle school or high school back home in the states, before ITTO, had me thinking I might hate teaching, or at least not enjoy it. These ill placed stereotypes were thankfully dissolved throughout and after the course as I realized how teaching students who deeply desire the knowledge you have ready to serve them, as is the case in most if not all English language teaching classes, can be addictive, fulfilling, and thought provoking. I really can’t say enough about my experience at ITTO, simply put, I couldn’t have hoped for anything better, and I’d recommend ITTO to anyone serious about teaching English, or just looking to add a positive change to their life. I recently completed the on-line 120-hour TESOL certificate course from my home in the South of France. I was not sure what to expect going into an on-line course, as I had never taken one before. I really had my heart set on going to Paris to take the course, but I could not get the time off from work in the summer and so I decided to take the course on line. Boy am I glad I did!

I found the course to be a pleasant experience from start to finish. It was easy to sign up and pay, and I had fast and efficient feedback from staff regarding my questions about the program. They returned my calls promptly despite the time difference. Very considerate.

The course content was very good. I enjoyed it SO much and wish now that I had signed up for a longer course. I am happy that I will be given a bonus class on teaching business English since that is one of the things I most want to do.

BUT, my best experience with ITTO by far was my on-line teacher/Tudor. Her name is Susan Gammage and she is based in Canada. She was there for me 100%. She gave me such good feedback on my Unit work, and sent me so many pertinent internet links and sites that I will be able to use as a teacher. Additionally, she got back to to me without 24 hours each time I sent a completed lesson, and she was available and kind when I asked for clarification or assistance. Moreoever, she was extremely compassionate, dedicated and went the extra mile. Wow, such a Professional! My pleasure with my on-line instructor made up for my not being able to take the course in a classroom.

I can recommend the course without reservation, and hope you get Susan as your instructor!

This is the right on-line TEFL course for me and I’m very glad I have selected ITTO as the course provider. It has been an amazing learning experience and the lessons are well planned and detailed. The admin staff are helpful and my tutor Susan, she is truly a wonderful tutor who is prompt, clear and thorough in her feedbacks. Susan has many years in the teaching industry and she has worked, traveled and lived in many countries in the world. The knowledge she has to share with you is endless. The additional articles, websites and support from Susan are useful and helpful in the teaching industry. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is keen to be an ESL instructor! Thank you ITTO for a tremendous course content. I am an AL Business Studies and Economics teacher who now applies all the ITTO formative assessments, reflects on the success of the methods applied and keeps up to date with the most innovative lesson plans. The acquired techniques boosted the November 2012 public exam results.

I have also completed the TBE specialty course but I am still part of ITTO and will still pursue the technology based course. ITTO empowered me to be a global teacher who is now licensed to teach without boundaries. May I also proudly say that the identification of learner needs taught in unit 1 enabled me to shine in the Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers -CIDTT with a distinction making my way into the top 15% of the diploma candidates. May I profusely thank my tutor Neeta who was kindly informative, lucidly informed in the course content and providing feedback that always stretched my thinking. Back at home I am teaching EFL to Arabic learners on a part time basis. Recently, Korean speakers also joined the group of 12 Arabic learners and I will provide the ITTO team more progress detail in November 2013. I am disseminating the ITTO course to fellow colleagues so that they may part take in such a prestigious program.

I was very satisfied with the on-line TEFL course that iTTO provided. I found it stimulating and concise, with lots of ideas on how to organize different segments of a class. It gave me a solid support in making lesson plans in an educational system so different from the one in my country. Above all, my positive impressions are due to an amazing tutor, Susan Gammage, who is a real treasure to have as a mentor. She treats her students with care, encourages their progress, gives prompt replies with lots of valuable info and links, and demonstrates a practical lesson on a teacher-student relationship. With her enthusiasm and knowledge, Susan made this course even more enjoyable and useful.

I took this course because my employer requested that I get it done and also because I figured it wouldn’t hurt to have this for future employment. I’m so glad that I did! I really learned a lot and my tutor Susan was excellent! Always willing to help, she gave relevant and useful feedback as well as a TON of resources I can’t wait to use in the classroom! I was on a time crunch and she understood completely, getting back to me as soon as she could. It was a great experience and I would absolutely recommend ITTO to anyone!

I completed the online TEFL course. My instructor Susan was extremely helpful and responsive. She has far more experience teaching, travelling, and training EFL teachers than I will ever have. I learned a lot about teaching methods and practical applications, and there was more for me to learn than I expected. Without ITTO’s online course, I would not have been able to get my TEFL certificate as I spent many months physically on the move. I may not have been able to get my current teaching post, either, so the benefits are long-ranging. Would I recommend this course to others? Yes!!!

I have taken many online courses and in fact took all my classes for my Arizona teaching credential online with a local community college. My ITTO tutor Susan Gammage was bar none the best online instructor/tutor I have ever had. Her feedback was always relevant, precise and comprehensive. Susan’s style of feedback was always positive and encouraging. At times I felt overwhelmed with all the resources she would provide me in her feedback, but now I have a tremendous reference library to draw on.

ITTO as a whole was a pleasure to work with from the very start. Anytime I needed anything they were prompt and always helpful. Thank you for such a positive experience.

At first, I was hesitant in taking the TEFL online course as I have not experienced this before. I have thought it would be difficult since it will be done online. However, that has changed when I met my tutor who helped me a lot in accomplishing my tasks.

The online course covers many informative and meaningful topics that will help teachers in their teaching careers. The activities and feedback you will get from your tutor will help your grow and understand how you run your lesson in the classroom.

Nevertheless, it was an amazing experience to be part of this particular program and I will be forever grateful to this. I have learned a lot on which I can say I have grown as a professional teacher, capable of sharing and influencing the minds of students who are interested to learn in my class.

Note: I have not rated Practice Teaching and Job placement for I have not done any of the two. Practice Teaching are only for those who had taken an in-house TEFL course.
