I do not recommend i-to-i to anyone, especially South Africans.

This course lacks transparency in a way that feels deliberately misleading. I paid over R20,000 for the Trinity CertTESOL, only to later be hit with additional mandatory costs, over R4,000 for moderation and more than R1,000 just to receive my certificate. None of these costs were clearly communicated upfront.

For South Africans, this is not a small amount of money. It is a serious financial commitment, and the lack of honesty around the full cost is unacceptable. It feels exploitative and money-driven rather than student-focused.

After completing the course, I waited months for my certificate, only to find out I needed to pay extra just for delivery, something that was never explained. This delay has affected my ability to apply for jobs, which defeats the entire purpose of doing the course in the first place.

The career support provided is also very basic and generic, nothing you can’t find online for free. For such an expensive course, this is extremely disappointing.

Overall, i-to-i comes across as profit-focused with little regard for transparency or the financial realities of international students. If you are South African, I strongly advise you not to enroll unless you are fully prepared for hidden costs and poor communication.

There are better, more honest options out there.

They are a total scam. They lied about their discount. I could not access the course material. The program itself is absolute rubbish.

I am very disappointed with my experience with i-to-i TEFL. Unfortunately, their customer service was almost non-existent. Emails often went unanswered, and when I did receive responses, they were slow and unhelpful.

The course curriculum itself also felt outdated and did not reflect current classroom realities or modern teaching approaches, which was disappointing given the expectations set when enrolling.

Most concerning was that i-to-i TEFL lost records of my practical teaching experience. When I contacted them to resolve this issue and obtain my certificate, I received little support and no clear solution, despite providing the necessary information on my side.

Overall, this experience caused unnecessary stress and delays. I would strongly encourage i-to-i TEFL to improve their customer support systems, update their curriculum, and ensure accurate record-keeping for students who rely on their certification for employment.

I do not recommend this course. I was surprised by the number of additional costs involved. Assignments often took longer than the advertised 7 days to be marked, and I received fails for minor corrections that didn’t make sense. This meant I had to buy multiple extensions just to complete the work.

The website had glitches, time was logged incorrectly, Tutor support was slow and minimal unless you repeatedly followed up.

I had high hopes based on positive reviews I’d read, but my experience was extremely disappointing. I strongly recommend doing thorough research before considering this course.

A word to the unwary – seek your certification elsewhere because you won’t get what you bargained for. I’m joining the chorus of negative reviewers because this company should be investigated for its unscrupulous grading practices driven by profit and greed rather than legitimacy. You can forget about the promised 7 day turnaround for graded work. Expect to wait weeks for your graded assignment, unless they can upsell a “fast track” grading schedule for more money. When you do eventually get your assignment back, expect multiple “referrals” to redo the assignment because passing scores are dependent on you meeting ridiculous or illegitimate Tutor feedback (demands) based on questionable rationale. I was told a game of “I spy” would be “very confusing” to introduce classroom vocabulary words like desk, ruler or pencil to A2 level students who already see and use these items in real life everyday. I quote: “They will snot know what they need to do.” The more “referrals” the Tutors make, the more money the company can squeeze out of you for either “additional grading” or to “fast track” your grading and this quickly adds up. After a considerable investment of time and money, I withdrew from the course to avoid wasting more of my time or throwing more money down the drain.
