I do not recommend i-to-i to anyone, especially South Africans.
This course lacks transparency in a way that feels deliberately misleading. I paid over R20,000 for the Trinity CertTESOL, only to later be hit with additional mandatory costs, over R4,000 for moderation and more than R1,000 just to receive my certificate. None of these costs were clearly communicated upfront.
For South Africans, this is not a small amount of money. It is a serious financial commitment, and the lack of honesty around the full cost is unacceptable. It feels exploitative and money-driven rather than student-focused.
After completing the course, I waited months for my certificate, only to find out I needed to pay extra just for delivery, something that was never explained. This delay has affected my ability to apply for jobs, which defeats the entire purpose of doing the course in the first place.
The career support provided is also very basic and generic, nothing you can’t find online for free. For such an expensive course, this is extremely disappointing.
Overall, i-to-i comes across as profit-focused with little regard for transparency or the financial realities of international students. If you are South African, I strongly advise you not to enroll unless you are fully prepared for hidden costs and poor communication.
There are better, more honest options out there.
