There are many TEFL course providers operating throughout the world. With so much choice, and with such a vast amount of conflicting information available on the internet, it can be hard for prospective TEFL course students to make the right choice.
The TEFL Academy’s 168 hour TEFL course aims to provide students with accurate information, skills and training to ensure they leave the academy with a sound understanding of teaching English, as well as a clearer picture of the TEFL industry as a whole.

As a retired person who’ve had many years of pre-internet teaching experience, I loved every moment of the course. I mentioned to my ex-coleagues that for my many students over the years, life in the classroom would’ve been so much more exiting if we’d had this kind of training. I found studying Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hours) quite exciting and challenging. The course progressed logically towards a clear understanding of the needs of an FL learner. I was challenged to read and learn extensively from other web sites and blogs. The additional information on each unit was very helpful. In the beginning I found the course lacking in structure but I put that down to my background and experience. I grew into the format quite easily.
I found the three assignments to be logical, interesting and enjoyable. Instructions were clear if one would pay proper attention to it! I found that, after having put in the effort, it could be more satisfying if the size the files allowed could be increased. To make worksheets more effective for instance to A1 – A2 learners, adding pictures would be ideal in the classroom situation but the files would then regularly exceed the size allowed per assignment. The quality of feedback and many suggestions offered post assignment were excellent.
I have not yet found many opportunities to teach one on one or in small groups via Skype.
