What an excellent course.

I truly enjoyed it. Everything was well planned and has helped me to build up my confidence to continue with the idea of teaching English in Ecuador in the future.

Kirsty clearly knew her subject. Her experience of teaching was invaluable and her teaching style was clear, relaxed and relaxing. Noone felt intimidated or worried even though it was at some level out of everyone’s comfort zone.

Lesson planning was made clear and there were lots of opportunities to practice and consolidate learning.

Kirsty shared info ‘re jobs and opportunities and emailed info after the course.

Kirsty was appreciative of us as learners and we were very appreciative of her skill and expertise

Thoroughly enjoyable course. Was concerned that given how long the days were it would drag but actually felt that it flew by. The content was relevant and useful, and was taught very interactively, allowing the class to bond and build up our confidence around each other. I found the structure of the course was well thought out, with the tasks following a logical order, and enough time was provided to get fully involved in each task. Our tutor Kirsty was extremely knowledgeable, approachable and good fun, she put us all at ease and provided good feedback for us all. Would definitely recommend the course to others.

I really enjoyed the course in Edinburgh last month. Rachael gave us a valuable insight and shared her wealth of experience answering any questions the group had on all things TEFL. having the classroom sessions has given me much more confidence with my own a learning and progression to becoming a qualified TEFL teacher.

The only improvements i could make to the programme would be to include some more, teacher/pupil role plays with some examples of the typical mistakes pupils make, to give more understanding on the different levels of learners. The handouts however were a great source material for this.

It was really good. The teacher gave really good feedbacks to us and we had a chance to prepare 2 lesson and do a presentation. It was worth it!

Liz was a fantastic teacher and her enthusiasm for the course gave me personal confidence that I was doing the right thing. Some of the countries that she mention that she taught had in increased my level of desire and boosted my eagerness to learn.

In terms of the course work I feel like we could have been given more examples of marking and giving feedback to our future students a d I dont feel like the classroom hours involves any tips or advice on getting jobs

A fantastically taught course with so much material for only a 20 hour course. Intensive but not overwhelming in the slightest. The practical work was the one thing I needed to reaffirm my confidence in any teaching ability I might have, and this course nailed that aspect. Also the basic pointers on grammar types were helpful, as were the two lesson planning structures we examined. Overall, an exceptional investment, and hopefully the first step of many.

The course was well structured, but still very relaxed and fluid, transitioning from one area of practice to the next with ease. The practical demonstrations of how students would feel/respond were a real eye opener, as they were conducted in an unfamiliar TL. Great ideas !

All in all, a very enjoyable experience with good interaction and team building. I intend to stay in touch with my fellow students.

David was a fantastic teacher for the classroom part of the TEFL course. He explained everything very well, teaching us how to be a teacher in the same way that we would teach our students so we really got a great idea of how to teach. He cleared up a lot of doubts on the job-seeking front and helped us get to grips with all the most crucial aspects of being a teacher, and he certainly made them memorable or funny so all the techniques are stuck in my head for sure. Having completed a chunk of the online course already, the fact that he went over a lot of the same things but in further detail meant I could refresh my memory on things I’d forgotten and really ensure they will stay in my head from now on. Overall, very satisfied and I hope other people find David as useful and reassuring as I did.

It has been a pleasure to attend the weekend course ran by David.

He has definitely made the weekend go by very quickly. He has amazing teaching skills and managed to make all covered subject very appealing… even one as daunting as grammar!

David is very much a tutor to look up to and a great example of how teaching should be delivered.
