The course was so good and well organized .modules instructions were easy to follow. The reflection rubric helped me reflect on my learning path.

The course was easy for me, I already had a teaching license, I had to get ESL too, that’s why I enrolled . I have 2 cons about this certification program. One is about discussion part. I would like to see discussion part more active. Since it’s online and self-paced I didn’t find it interactive. Another cons is about the length of the paragraphs. I would rather to see interactive videos and discussion chats. And FYI, there is no logo of IH Berkeley on the certificate. That disappointed me after I paid 800 dollars.

The layout of the course is very frustrating. You are given a paragraph or two to read and asked to write extensively on an abstract, sometimes even unrelated topic, with references to concepts and materials that have not been covered anywhere in the entire course. There is minimal instruction into the actual material, such as grammar, syntax, vocabulary, etc. The entire course focuses on how to teach and manage a classroom.

The course is filled with typos and grammatical errors, which is very frustrating when you are trying to get a certification to teach English. Many of the diagrams are word-for-word repetitions of each other, and there is one diagram in the fourth lesson where multiple sections are exactly identical, with the following activity asking you to identify and differentiate those points, which are word for word the same. When assignments are submitted, they are returned with no markings on them for a pass or fail grade.

This course is conducted entirely online so there are no opportunities to speak with an instructor or be in a class. overall, I am extremely disappointed in this course and feel that I was cheated out of $1,100.
