Having recently completed the TEFL program at Chiang Mai University, and it was a genuinely transformative experience for me. Before joining this program, my teaching style was heavily rooted in the traditional, teacher-centered approach. However, this course completely shifted my perspective, inspiring me to adopt a more dynamic, student-centered learning model.

The curriculum was exceptionally well-structured and filled with practical skills that I can easily apply in real classrooms. I am incredibly grateful to the trainers, who were not only friendly and supportive but also provided invaluable feedback throughout.

The lessons were highly interactive, making the intensive training feel engaging rather than overwhelming. As a result, I have come away with a huge boost in confidence and a renewed excitement for my teaching career. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to become a better English teacher.

There are so many terminologies, approaches, methods, resources, techniques, tips, etc., from various experienced trainers. All the trainers are resourceful and open-minded. I could feel that I was truly listened to with my curiosity and questions.

I have been a science teacher for all my teaching life. My teaching has been heavily executed by having a large load of TTT (Teacher Talking Time), which is rather different from being a language teacher whose TTT should be as low as possible. This is so that students can practice their skills through activities with their learned knowledge and create examples related to their real-life needs and situations. The thing that originally seemed trivial to me like giving instructions can be an important link for interactions between the teacher and students. Student-student interactions should also be sub-aims of all the lessons as they can boost students’ confidence. They will, then, be able to communicate accurately and fluently in their real lives.

I now have the knowledge on how to find fun, useful, and appropriate resources for my future teaching. Mindfulness is also a good touch for teachers to have as there are many types of students of various characters. It is not all about the knowledge. It is how we deliver them.

I recently completed a TEFL course and honestly, it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The course was really well-structured, easy to follow, and packed with practical teaching skills that I feel confident using in real classrooms.

The tutors were incredibly friendly and supportive and always available to give helpful feedback. I also loved how interactive and engaging the lessons were—it never felt boring or overwhelming.

I’ve come away feeling much more confident about teaching English and genuinely excited about future opportunities. I’d highly recommend doing the course at Chiang Mai university to prepare for a career in teaching English.

The TEFL course at CMU is really great in every aspect. You will be taught by many different teachers who all genuinely care about you and your future career plans. You’ll have various teaching observations and practice sessions at a university, a kindergarten, and a high school. It’s also the best-managed facility I have ever seen in Thailand. The course is very intensive, which is great because you truly get what you paid for, but be prepared to feel exhausted by the end of it.
