Description

The Center for Intensive English Studies (CIES) was founded in 1980 and is home to an Intensive English Program, an English for Academic Purposes Program, and a TEFL Certificate Program.

The CIES-TEFL Program offers a 7-week 120-hour onsite Certificate as well as an optional additional 7-week TEFL Internship. CIES-TEFL certificate students work closely with our highly-qualified faculty and diverse international English language learners and graduate with a portfolio of teaching materials, resources, and lesson plans to take with them wherever they go in the world. CIES-TEFL instructors, administrators, alumni, and peers all work together to assist in job placement counseling to help graduates find employment in the countries where they would like to teach.
