I am a stay-at-home Mom, mother to 3 beautiful, headstrong girls aged 9, 6 and 1 so making the decision to study something after many years of being home and taking care of the house and family was indeed a challenge! I decided that I wanted to do TEFL because I wanted to study something that would allow me to work from home and now that I have completed the course, I am hoping to teach online and very interested in teaching children. Being able to complete the course online was the perfect option for me.

I completed the Level 5 Tefl course (168 hrs) in 2 months and I found it very intense but I truly enjoyed every module! The grammar sections were a bit challenging but I managed – being able to retake tests and even re-submit your assignments is a big plus.

Whenever I had a question I received a response quickly without long delays. However, when it came to getting our assignments marked, it seemed to take longer than 5 working days and this caused a bit of frustration. I appreciated the feedback from each of my assignments as Im sure this will help me in the future. Designing lesson plans is not as easy as I thought it would be! I spent a lot of time on these assignments in order to make sure that it was suitable for the target audience – not too hard and also not too elementary. I’m sure that it will get better with more experience once I start teaching and can put the theory into practice!

The 2 day course with Judy was fantastic! She was such a good facilitator and made it enjoyable for us. I truly felt like we had all forged lasting friendships after this. The course was very interactive with lots of discussion, debate and team work involved.

All in all, I would recommend this TEFL course to friends and family. I feel really proud of myself having completed it and am now able to embark on a new career path even as a stay-at-home Mom.

When I decided to do a TEFL course I googled for a TEFL course and a few links popped up. As I was busy working at the time I could not take a full class course and decided to do mine part-time. The TEFL academy website was very informative and it laid out the basic course requirements unlike some of the websites I had checked. I also saw it was accredited and the pricing was very cheap compared to others and registered for the course in November 2017 when I wasn’t so busy.

I registered for the Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs) as I also wanted to get some on hand experience in classroom. Needless to say I had enjoyed the classroom modules as I was exposed to the way of teaching during my two days in the class, as well as learning about the actual TEFL course itself.

The helpline was also very responsive and could help me with my general queries. The online modules were well structured and were simple to understand and read through. The assignment instructions were well laid out as well the requirements for the assignments. I never felt lost and the assignment markers gave informative feedback as to where I was struggling as well as which portion of my assignment I could improve.

Having passed the assignments as well as getting all this feedback I feel it has helped me prepare for the classroom in my teaching role for the near future and I would fully recommend this course to anyone out there who wants to do a TEFL course!

I retired from full time community development and education work in April 2017. I decided I wanted to do something useful but challenging so I signed up for the 120 hour online TEFL course. I was quite nervous as I prefer face to face teaching but online was the best option for me.

The layout of the online modules is very clear with the short video to start and the options to either print off the modules to work from or do all online. I did have a couple of grammar books as back up, and the list of other resources via the net at the end of each module is also useful to help explain any grammar points I was struggling with.

I had to extend my course as we moved house and it took weeks to get the internet installed. This was accommodated.

It is difficult not having a tutor or other students on hand to discuss course content with but I didn’t feel this as much as I anticipated. The ability to work through each module at my own pace was very good. I didn’t need a support ticket until completing an assignment. This was quickly and fully dealt with.

I did have one group session which was useful but I would recommend doing this after at least completing 5 or 6 modules, rather than the 2 I had completed.

I would recommend an online course now as I found this TEFL course well laid out and planned.

I recently completed the Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs) and found it extremely beneficial.

It provided a lot of detailed information on how to construct a lesson plan and plenty of activities to get comfortable making my own.

The units pertaining to teaching pronunciation, grammar & productive skills were all extremely informative. A review of key grammar rules was a useful refresher and combined with learning how to teach grammar has provided me with a useful tool.

The practice teaching was a good experience. I had a 20 hour classroom lesson as part of the course and it allowed me to conduct two short lessons. This practice was very useful as it gave me the chance to see what was practical and how to grade language effectively. The teaching during this part of the course was also exemplary.

While I cannot attest to the job placement aspect yet, the course does provide many job opportunities through its site as well as external resources for job searching.

Overall it was an extremely informative course and provides a useful feather in my cap.

Honestly the 168 Hr Level 5 TEFL Course is the best ever. I really enjoyed the interactive learning modules. Loved all the personal feedback from the tutors after submitting assignments. There is no doubt in my mind that the instructions I received on the TEFL Course, has contributed immensely to my ability to be able to write lesson plans; and then to use them effectively when teaching children.I really am looking forward to receiving my certificate. I thoroughly enjoyed my course and would happily recommend The TEFL Academy to anyone wishing to do a TEFL course.

I took the Level 5 168 hour TEFL course and it really appealed to me as it was online and easy to access. I enjoyed this course a lot because I found the content relative and the instructions easy to understand. It is very inexpensive compared to other courses but it still has brilliant course material. The site is well designed and easy to use. The material is comprehensive and thorough. This is not a course you will be able to blow though in a couple of weeks without learning something and I took a lot of care when going through everything as not to miss anything out. The assignments are a bit of a challenge and do a really good job of preparing you for what you will be handing should you get a job teaching english. A lot of people will say they got through this course in 6 weeks which is doable especially if you apply yourself. Its such a brilliant opportunity and I plan on using my certificate to travel and each English overseas.

i felt consistently supported throughout my course with the TEFL Academy. The resources were well explained and extremely simple to negotiate. The feedback was well balanced regarding positive comments and areas for improvement. Going into the course i was aware of how the theory aspect outweighed the practical guidance and perhaps would have ideally practised more physical teaching as i’m a relatively kin-aesthetic learner however the classroom days i did attend were led by whom i felt to be a fully competent tutor who kept us well informed and was willing to answer any question we had with enthusiasm. Overall , i would highly recommend the TEFL Academy to anyone looking to study to teach English. At the end you are supplied with plenty of resources and excellent guidance on CV writing and finding future employment.

I studied for the the level 5 TEFL course (168 hours online) offered by The TEFL Academy. Undertaking a TEFL course has always been on my ‘to do’ list, as it can open up endless opportunities for graduates with a passion for both teaching and travel. After weeks of research, and asking the illusive question; what TEFL course should I take? It became apparent that The TEFL Academy offered the perfect course for me.

I completed this course in little of 5 weeks, and I was able to do this from the comfort of my own home, as The TEFL Academy offers an online course. I have given an overall rating of 5 stars because this course has given me the foundations to confidently start teaching abroad. The course content covers a wide range of material, and gives you plenty of opportunities to put what you have learnt into practice. The online tests are particularly useful, as this ensures that you have understood previous sections. I found the assessments to be very interesting, and they give you the chance to create your own lesson plans– which you can then use to teach your classes after completing your TEFL. The feedback is very detailed, and individual marks are given to each section. The feedback is generally received 7-10 days after submission, and you can continue to work through the units while awaiting your mark.

The TEFL Academy also offers plenty of support after completing the course. There are many useful links and information that is available after completing the course, and this will help guide you through the process of finding a job overseas. Overall, I would certainly recommend this course to anyone!
