The end of module tests were great for reinforcing what was learned in each module. I felt that the modules complemented each other well. The modules provided good examples of real life situations that I could encounter in a classroom setting with students of different ages and levels.

The expectations and grading criteria for the lesson plans were clear and concise. My tutor provided excellent feedback for the lesson plans, as well as suggestions on things that could be added to future lessons.

The interactive workbook activities for each module were helpful and kept me organised throughout the course. Although some of the interactive workbooks provided a couple of activities that were not useful.

The support staff were very helpful in resolving any issues or concerns that I had…I called their office several times and each time they resolved my concern promptly and accurately.

Overall, it is a good option if you are looking for an online TEFL course. Great value for money.

I signed up for the 120 Hours online TEFL course in May 2017 and recently completed it. The reason I did so was that I got an English Teaching job opportunity in China and my agent suggested me to get the certificate as I stand better chances getting a placement.

The online course was great and self-explanatory and the tests after each module helped me to focus on the curriculum.

The 2 days weekend teaching practice was however short but covered many topics and the teacher was knowledgeable and had awesome teaching experience. I wish we had more time to spend with her as she shared real life examples from personal experience. During the exercises teacher highlighted mistakes and always explained them providing alternative solutions.

Overall I am happy with the course content and got the value for my money. I needed course extension and Customer Service was always prompt in responding and provided great deal of support.

I would warmly recommend the course to anyone who would like to take a different direction in his/her professional life. TEFL gives you the key – you just need to use it and practice. Just as in life – after completing the course you get the real experience on the job but TEFL gives you a good basis.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from TEFL when I joined the course, but it definitely exceeded my expectations! The TEFL course is thorough, informative and well-structured. The only issue I found was that there was some unnecessary repetition throughout some of the modules, and some of the modules felt a bit too padded at times, although not by much.

Aside from this, The TEFL Academy provided excellent detail, and useful tips for teaching throughout, which gave me a better understanding of what it means to be a TEFL teacher and how to implement the theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. The only thing I wish there had been more of was actual teaching practice, as I feel as if I am lacking confidence in this particular area. The TEFL instructors have been very helpful and fair in their feedback and guidance however, which made the course run a lot smoother in the long-run.

At times I felt like I’d never understand what being a TEFL teacher would entail, however this course has hugely increased my confidence and has equipped me with the skills and knowledge relevant to my future teaching career… very highly recommended!

As an over 50- year -old with time on my hands, the 120 hour TEFL course from the TEFL Academy was an excellent choice, with very informative course content, competent feedback and an interesting and enjoyable practice teaching weekend. Initially, I thought I would finish the course within a few weeks, but as things turned out I was glad that 6 months were available. The final assignments were challenging, but the course had given me all the tools I needed to complete them with distinction. The 20- hour teaching practice was a very enjoyable and useful part of the course, this could be perhaps extended a little as some aspects were somewhat rushed.

On the whole, the course was a just what I needed and has already helped me with my first English teaching job. I would be happy to recommend the TEFL Academy to anyone interested in teaching English abroad.

I decided to do The TEFL Academy’s 120-hour online course on the spur of the moment, whilst chatting to a friend about wanting to try out something new. I am also a qualified Dietitian and Massage Therapist and thoroughly enjoy working with kids.

As it was the first time I was studying online, and I’m not very computer-savvy, I was quite apprehensive … but I needn’t have worried.The TEFL Academy’s course is very well thought out, and not only do they explain each step in detail in writing, they also have short videos on each step, as well as a ‘Most Commonly Asked Questions’ section. If we had any other questions – either about the contents of the actual course or a ‘technical’ question – all one has to do is to create a ticket. Every query I had was answered timeously. I found parts of the course challenging (grammar especially) but I am very pleased with the overall amount that I learnt. I enjoyed how they built on from one module to the next, as well as the ‘Key Words’ section at the end of each module which helped with reviewing that section before writing the module test. The extra information on how to write a CV and cover letter, job boards and other resources was most helpful. Thanks to The TEFL Academy, I now feel confident, to go out and teach both children and adults, English as a foreign language.

It is one of the best choices I have made for myself professionally and I would recommend it to any aspiring English language instructor to take it. Personally I graduated with a business degree.

The course is very comprehensive in itself; materials, modules, pedagogy and its structure makes it very approachable and easy-to-understand to grasp new concepts without prior teaching experience.

The 120 hour online course can be completed in approximately three months if you are consistent and it does not occupy too much time as well which allows you flexibility and autonomy in completing the course.

I am currently teaching in Turkey and I am considering teaching there for one extra year. This experience could not have happened without this course.

Therefore a massive thank you to the whole team!

I was lucky enough to purchase this course while it was on sale, because I got more than my money’s worth. Although my teaching plans have changed since I started the course (and therefore did not need to utilize the job placement services) I felt like I learned a lot and received a quality education through this course. Overall I definitely recommend it!

I really enjoyed this course. Naturally, having picked the online version due to my busy schedule I didn’t get much practice teaching which would’ve been lovely. Nevertheless, I did get the chance to go for an online course combined with 2 classes to attend in Dublin. Rachel, the instructor, was excellent: professional and so much fun; it was a pleasure knowing her and spending two whole days with other people whom I shared the same goal with, all from different nationalities and backgrounds. An experience I won’t easily forget as I learned so much from skills for planning lessons to implementing them in front of the whole class as a kind of a test. The online content of the actual course was thorough including all useful information for anyone hoping to be a skilled teacher, and concise enough not to be boring (in my opinion, but I do love my reading and my grammar…!). Confidence is what I gained the most and, through tests and assignments, proof that a dream can become reality, with just a little bit of work…My plan is to teach English at the Gran Canarias. Next step: Cambridge C2.
