I have just completed my 120 hour tefl course and am very and satisfied with the course. I felt the information provided and the structure of the course made it easy for me to follow and understand and has given me enough confidence and knowledge to feel I am able to teach adequately. The feedback from the tutors was also very helpful and informative. I highly recommend this course.

I started my TEFL 120 hour course in November of 2016 however due to work commitments I wasn’t able to actually start it until late February/March of the following year. The 2 day weekend class we had to attend was very informative and I thought this prepared me a whole lot better to complete the online course. It gave me the confidence to believe that despite no previous teaching experience, I could actually go into a classroom and begin teaching students.

I tried to dedicate a lot of time to the online course taking notes in my notebook of important points that were highlighted and making a record of these. Looking back on it now the course is very easy to complete within the 6 month period and realistically can be done within 4-6 weeks if you have the free time. The assignments took me a little longer as I was focussing on attaining a strong grade!

All the information contained in each module is way more than sufficient to be able to complete the course successfully. In fact, I learned a lot about English through this course( I am a native speaker) but it highlighted key terms e.g. Verb phrases, modal verbs, that we use in our everyday speech but may not realise why we use them!

The tests at the end of the modules were very good! My only criticism of some of the questions in particular tests is that they weren’t worded fantastic which made answers to particular questions unclear. It would be also helpful if solutions to the wrong answers were given. I could not find the solutions to some of the questions & could not see the reasoning why some of my answers were wrong. However, overall the tests were a perfect assessment of the modules & were tricky enough so you had to dedicate time to revise the topics!

The range of the modules taught was well more than sufficient and, in my opinion, were perfect to preparing someone to be a teacher. The modules dealt with Grammar, how to teach vocabulary, reading, writing etc. They had a lot of information which was useful and sufficient to pass the tests with high marks. They were not overly long and the activities helped to reinforce teaching points highlighted previously!

I would suggest that their is more time or emphasis put into planning lessons because I felt that there wasn’t a whole lot of information to help you when it came to planning linked lessons. I think maybe a few more examples for planning lessons would be helpful and prepare new teachers better.

Overall, I really enjoyed the course and I honestly felt I accomplished something by completing it. I feel really confident to go out and teach students of whatever level and be able to do so successfully! I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone as it can open up a world of opportunities.

I came across The TEFL Academy’s course last year in December when my partner and I decided we wanted to go traveling, and I will be teaching while he does what he does.

The course was greatly priced, and overall I think it is your money’s worth. It contains everything you might need and gives a wide scope of what you will encounter during your classes, what types of students you might come across, and also gives great advice for further reading.

I started teaching while I was studying for my TEFL, and I must say this was the best way for me to have grasped the worked entirely. Everyone has their own way of doing a course and to complete it, but for me, it was interactive because I was able to apply what I have learnt from the course material in practical classes. If there was anything I did not know or was too shy to ask other teachers about, I would conveniently turn to my TEFL Academy ‘handbook’.

The assignments at the end of the course are fantastic because you are able to take what you have learnt and to put it to use, and to see where and what you are capable of delivering in a real-life class setting. This taught me the values of proper lesson planning and how to prepare for a class based on students’ needs.

Furthermore, I was extremely happy with the feedback I received from my marker. It was straight to the point and it clarified exactly what I needed to do in order to achieve my teaching goals.

Overall, I am impressed with the material and the course and I would definitely suggest it for anyone who is considering a career in this industry. You will not be disappointed!

I have just completed my TEFL Combined 120h Course and I must say I was very satisfied with it. Although I was a little skeptical at first, I have had a good educational experience where I have truly learnt some things to help me be a good English teacher. It was a little harder than expected at times, so I was pleased by that, because it meant I had to make an actual effort to learn and move forward. The assignments were interesting and very practical towards preparing lessons. The intense 20h workshop over the course of a weekend was a great experience, with a lot of practice of the theory learnt so far online. Overall I would (and I already did) recommend it to others.

First of all, I am happy that I signed up my TEFL course with The TEFL Academy. Because I am fully satisfied with their course content construction and planning of modules teaching and the exams. As you see, there are a lot of great reviews for this organization and they are holding and maintaining the reputation.

And another important aspect is that it is really helpful for non-native speakers like me. Because I had a doubt about pursuing the course. But in the end, I have completed the course with Distinction grade. So I would suggest all the non-native speakers pursue their TEFL with this organization.

The TEFL Academy’s best quality is their outstanding service. Their website includes everything you need to know, but they are always ready to provide you with any information or guidance you will need about or during the course, and the staff is really friendly. That is something rare to find these days, especially with online education institutions. The school is very serious about the teacher’s integrity and do not tolerate plagiarism. I appreciate this, and I am very impressed with the standard the school has set.

Regarding the course, it covers everything! I’ve learned so much about lesson planning, the different types/approaches of teaching, situations you’ll find yourself in, etc. They teach you the four skills and language components, and they really help you if you need to brush up on your grammar.

I love their webpage, but I have only one problem with the job board. There are many job openings for those who have a degree, but not many for those who don’t possess a degree. It is very possible for those with no degree to find a job as a TEFL teacher (in some countries), and the academy has provided a chart explaining countries who will most likely accept you without a degree, which I of course appreciate, but I wish more jobs will be posted for those without a degree. I also would love it if there were a section explaining why certain countries prefer a degree, and how the visas are related to it.

Nevertheless, my overall experience with the TEFL Academy was very rewarding and pleasant, with excellent course material and friendly service. I highly recommend them.

I have just finished the 120 hour online course. I started it in March and to be fair because I was able to devote quite a lot of daily hours to it, it hasn’t taken me very long to complete. It was way harder than expected, which is probably a good thing. I left school nearly 30 years ago and although my first career included small children it never covered teaching. I found the grammar lessons and tests very difficult and that showed in my results, I passed but not as well as I passed the other elements. I had to research a lot of the grammar points online as I don’t feel the course went in to enough detail for someone who hasn’t studied grammar for so long. It does state clearly during the course that most English lessons wouldn’t go into so much detail but I felt I needed to understand something that I was potentially going to be asked questions on to be fair to any students. Even as I begin my first job I feel that I will always have to be thoroughly prepared for any lessons containing potential grammar points. The rest of the modules were interesting, they seemed to cover everything else, with only a little research required for some. It was good that you knew your test results once you had finished and could not progress until you had a high enough percentage. When it came to the final assignments I found both fairly time consuming and taxing. I did have to email requesting they be marked on both assignments as this does seem to take a while, but the feed back was excellent and worth having. I would and have recommended this course to others.

I would like to recommend this course to people who are still not sure which course is the right one for them. Everything related to this TEFL course is very well explained, simple to understand and follow.

Each module is very useful for your upcoming job in teaching. End of module tests check your knowledge and understanding of that content. Assignments 1 and 2 are the real piece of practice teachers will need in their job for sure.

After completing my online TEFL course I felt confident that I could offer qualitative help when volunteering as an English teacher in Vietnam. The course guides the pupil through all main aspects of the English language and how best to teach them. I would recommend the online TEFL course to anyone embarking on a profession or activity that reqiures an acute understanding of the English language and how to make learning it an engaging and fun experience!

Pros

Website is well set up, easy to follow.

Modules flow, they are interesting and engaging and automated marking system makes it easy to get through them quickly.

Assignments are well designed and all information for how to complete them can be found in the modules, so you don’t feel overwhelmed or like you’re drowning.

Cons

Marking for the assignments can be slow, but the quality of feedback was high so it does balance out.

Some modules can be overwhelming and throw out way too much information at once, the Grammar module especially. Maybe it can be broken up into two.

These are minor quibbles, and overall the course was excellent and great value for money.
