I undertook this course when deciding to travel to Europe and beyond for 2 years. I was already a teacher and thought that the course might help me in the teaching of English as a foreign language. I am very pleased with the content and support received and have already put it to good use on a voluntary basis. I would recommend the course without hesitation.

I have recently completed the 120 hour course and was really impressed with it. At times it challenged me but through this I learnt a lot more, especially on the grammar module. It has really given me a passion for the language and I look at the English language in a completely new way. All the modules were easy to follow and as I said before very informative. The 20 hour session with the instructor was really enjoyable and it was a great opportunity to meet others on the same journey. Its the first online course I have taken and I would happily recommend it to anyone. ( I have already) The last 2 assignments were challenging but put everything you have learnt on the way into practice, the feedback was constructive and useful. The staff at The TEFL Academy are lovely and respond to any questions or queries almost immediately. It was hard work at times but well worth it and I really enjoyed the course. Thank you.

I really enjoyed the course, especially the classroom. It gave a very good insight how teaching in the real world will look. The tutor was funny and professional. The online course was very informative as well, I can only recommend it.

I compared TEFL/EFL courses online and noted about nothing negative about the TEFL Acadamy’s reviews. I was pleasantly surprised with the online material, it covers every aspect of teaching a language. The instructions were clear and easy to use. The 20 hour course was interesting and fun. Yohan was very informative. I would suggest that a student must first complete the online version and then do the 20 hours In the 20 hours you must let the students spend more time practicing teaching and doing lesson plans. Too much time was spent on grammar, classroom management etc wich are all covered in detail in the online version.. The venue was in a very bad spot in Pretoria near the station. We did not feel very safe there. Overall I did enjoy it and found it very informative. I would recommend this course to anyone.

I absolutely loved the TEFL Academy course. All the course content is very well explained and covers everything you need to know about teaching English as a foreign language. The instructors marked my assignments quickly and efficiently, giving me lots of helpful feedback and advice. After completing the course I feel extremely confident that I can now design a lesson plan that covers any topic and teach it to any group of English learners. I really can’t find any fault with the course, it’s well worth completing the course.

I began searching for possible TEFL courses to take when I found myself falling in love with travel and being overseas. I did lots of googling, and the TEFL Academy website stood out above the others for being much clearer about what they provided and what you would get from it. The courses also happened to be 50% off at the time I was looking, but even the full price was very reasonable. The main thing that attracted me was the fact that the 120-hour course is done fully online with no time in a classroom. Obviously this also has disadvantages as you don’t get to apply what you’ve learned practically, so it’s good that they also offer a course with some classroom time included, but working full-time meant that I would not have been able to fit in classroom sessions, and would therefore never have bothered doing the course.

I really enjoyed the layout and content of the modules, especially the grammar ones. I find grammar so much fun, and could have continued studying that for twice as long! The course is very structured, which appeals to my learning style, and it’s always easy to see where you’re at in relation to the whole course, and how much you still have to do. I liked having the option of contacting a tutor with queries, which I did a couple of times, and mostly got very quick and helpful replies. There were a couple of things in the module tests that annoyed me because I thought my answers were correct, but the computer obviously needed something more specific. With one of them I did actually write to a tutor and ask for my grade to be adjusted, because I knew there was no way my answer was wrong, and they were happy to do that once I explained.

It took me about 3 months to complete the course, which was longer than I was hoping, but as I said earlier, I work full-time and have a very busy lifestyle, so there were some weeks when I didn’t manage to do any work on it at all. It is good to have a six-month time limit, as that gives you incentive to get it done.

Overall I am really pleased with my experience with the TEFL Academy. I have not yet received my certificate, but assume I will with no problems. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this course to anyone considering getting a TEFL qualification.

I started off with apprehension, thinking that because it is an on-line course, I would have difficulty getting to do the tests without guidance from a live person. However, I found the pace very well suited to me, being in full time employment and could only devote a couple of hours in the evening.

The tests were completed very successfully and I had the confidence to tackle the assignments. These assignments were there to put all the pieces together. I had to visualize myself in a classroom and how would I present a lesson. I found success and I am very glad I chose this program. I now look forward to my first placement and put to practice what I learned.

The TEFL Academy exceeded all of my expectations for an online TEFL course. The coursework was challenging and very in-depth. It provided me with a great foundation that allowed me the expertise to complete the exams and the end-of-the-course assessments. On the couple of occasions that I had to contact a tutor for information, they responded appropriately and gave me the guidance that I needed. If anyone is looking for a reputable company that delivers on all of its promises, the TEFL Academy is the place to go.

I had a great time with this course, although it proved much harder than I expected. I would say it took me closer to 500 hours than 200, though I was aiming for a distinction, which I achieved. The quality of the content was great, the way it was structure and the way the website worked were also great.

The only thing that could be improved about the actual course would be the addition of a linking index; during revision it was time-consuming to try and read through whole modules finding a page that mentioned a specific aspect.

As for the 2 days teaching practice, this was intense and gratifying. I don’t think it could have been better, save for the lack of tea/coffee/get to know you session, which made it a bit frostier than I expected, hence the 4 stars for this aspect of the course.
