John is a high energy instructor who walks the walk. He has the theoretical pedigree but doesn’t fall into the trap of relying on information delivery that many PD instructors rely on. Instead, he sprinkles the research backing when necessary but mainly has the participants practice the skills in a fun and interactive way.

John Kongvik came to our school in Beijing, China to deliver a two-day workshop to the Middle/High school staff. His energy and enthusiasm never dwindled as he interacted with teachers, teaching assistants, and administration in hands-on sessions. John was extremely flexible and prepared materials that were relevant to all departments and left us with a treasure box of language activities to use in every lesson.

One of the most humbling experiences was when John taught us a lesson in Bambara, placing us all on an equal level as language learners. It highlighted the reality of our students’ day-to-day struggles to understand what is happening in the room while staying engaged. I would recommend him in a heartbeat!
